Gangland Enforcer, Paul Ferris Tells All About His Life Of Crime

James English, The Anything Goes Show. Ep 36
Watch Part 2 here: • Crime Boss Paul Ferris...
Click the link to subscribe to my KZread channel / jamesenglish
Paul Ferris is a Scottish author and former organised crime figure. Ferris was an enforcer for Glasgow 'Godfather' Arthur Thompson in the early 1980s. Known for his ruthlessness and extreme violence, he rose to a prominent position in the city's criminal underworld.
He served a prison sentence for weapons possession in 1984 and believed he had been betrayed by the Thompsons. In 1991 Thompson's son, Arthur Jr, was shot dead. Ferris was charged with his murder and subsequently found not guilty after what was the longest criminal trial in Scottish history at that time. He was imprisoned again from 1998 to 2002 for trading in firearms and possessing explosives.

I’m all for about being in the present and not the past as everyone can change, however every character needs “shaping” through their childhood, adolescent years, teens and throughout life. Agree, there’s no ego or narcissism. It’s about the interviewee not him trying to be clever. He’s a great listener, he behaves like a counsellor to the point it makes me think he’s studied counselling skill classes because he uses all active listening techniques counselors use - paraphrases, reflects, clarifies, summarises, sharing, positive encouragers etc. He’s a natural. Very professional - f words aside 🙂.

Yeah this is the first I've heard of this guy. I was looking for a good podcast to listen to while working. He has had an eventful life and a great story teller. Also liked the part about the 12 week rule of thumb for goal/habit setting. Something we can all consider.

I met ferris a a few years ago, about the time his film was being made. He spoke in a soft manner and was very polite. He never acted hard or moved about as to say "Im a Gangster" If you did not know his history you would never know what he once was, unless you looked into eyes, they told a story of their own. He was severely bullied as a child which explains how he became so relentless. Their was nothing false about him I respected him for that.

I remember the Glenocill days when wee Ferrgie as he was Known as a midnight mass and grass honest to god he ran with a lying pack of wolves in sheep's clothing. They prayed on people who ended up hanging themselvessick bastard's.

Highly insightful conversation with a guy who has always fascinated me. I'm particularly interested in his attitude to the things that have gone before. I know for sure that I wouldn't last a second in prison or indeed in the "underworld" for want of a better term. However Mr Ferris' calm demeanor in describing all of this is as fascinating as it is unnerving. Great production. Much respect.

Fake as fuck laugh what he can switch off at the click of his fingers.. if I'm laughing I can't stop that fast.. and if I made somebody laugh and they stopped in a breath I'd think what a weirdo..
