The "Paul is dead" theory sounds about THIS ridiculous.

Комедия

This is a scene from "The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash" a parody authorized by the Beatles themselves around the late 1970s. If you don't know, some people, actually, too many people believe that Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced with a look-alike. Do you think this Beatles parody just about sums up the absurd theory?

Yes! A magician's trick is sleight of hand, mis-direction. They were magicians on Magical Mystery Tour. Notice that John changed his appearance every three days? Long hair, short hair, fluffy hair, stringy hair, mustache, then mutton chops, then a giant beard. That's so you never knew what he looked like. Then in the 70's when he quit music he always looked the same. And then there's Yoko... he 'met her in '66' - part of the deal for fake John was letting him dump Cyn and keep his current gf Yoko. Years later when he was going to spill the beans he was killed for it. Name of his last LP? "Double Fantasy". He was one of John's many doubles. * just as insane as any other theory.

That was actually the plot of a "Batman" comic from the late 60s-early 70s. A fictional Beatles-like band had the rumor that one of them had died and had been replaced. It turned out that the other members of the band had been killed in a plane crash, and band management, not wanting to kill the goose that laid the golden eggs; recruited three look and sound a-likes to replace them.

Would you like to assume his identity for the rest of your life? Yeah? Cool, cool. OK, so you can play left handed bass? Cool. Have you written any songs? Oh, you have this idea for Salt and Pepper and a song called Hey Dude or something? OK, we can talk about that. Well, The Beatles have another four years before we cancel the show, but it won't ever really be cancelled. I mean you're gonna be 80 and still pretending to be Paul and doing three hour concerts but you get to date Jane Asher in her prime, you like her, right? Oh, you're dating a Linda? As someone who was a teenager when the rumor came out, I feel I should add some context. Back then there was no Snopes or other places to check things out and rumors like this were spread mainly by word of mouth, with an occasional newspaper article. At the time the Beatles were going through lots of changes, their music style was changing, their appearance was changing (mustaches, etc), they stopped doing concerts, their manager Brian Epstein had died, and so on. The Sgt Pepper's cover was literally a funeral, they had many songs with hard-to-understand words ("Cranberry sauce"), backward lyrics, melancholy lyrics ("He blew his mind out in a car") and, of course, Revolution 9 with all kinds of sounds that could be interpreted in various ways (car crash, cries of pain, etc). The change in the group from just a few years earlier was huge. Add to that the Warren Commission had come out just a few years earlier and there were plenty JFK assassination conspiracy theories. Still, I don't know anyone who actually believed it, but it was a fun conversation starter with your peers. At the time, it probably made more sense than most of the conspiracy theories people believe today. Of course, I can't believe that any sensible person believed it after about 1971.

There have been bad jokes, anti-Beatles jokes, and even bad, 'get off my lawn' anti-Beatles jokes ever since the Beatles music showed up in America around New Years 1964. It was spotty; not everyone was aware of them. But when they showed up on Ed Sullivan's show, EVERYONE knew about them. And there was a significant number who wanted everyone to "Forget about them Beatles, the Russians will be here any minute..." and go back to quivering in fear(about the USSR) and dismay(about the popular, handsome President that was murdered right in front of you." I always thought that the "Paul is Dead" stuff was a tasteless joke by some weirdo; the "Paul is Dead" stuff began floating to the top of the sewer water after Sgt Peppers. And even though he appeared on Live worldwide TV for "All You Need Is Love," there was more reports, which sounded like the same college fraternity phoning those reports in. It still sounds like BS.

This is so funny and I've always adored Eric Idle.😅 Anyway, just a few days ago, I watched a video on John Lennon and someone in the comments section was mentioning this very conspiracy theory. The commenter was serious and believed it was true. And some people responded and most of them were believing this?!😳 No, I don't believe it. There's no way that they cloned Paul and his clone is Billy. I always laughingly think of John Lennon's lyric 'Those freaks was right when they said you were dead' off of his Paul McCartney dis song, 'How Do You Sleep?' I mean, yes, in the song, Lennon is clearly mad at McCartney at the time. They made up later. But John is being sarcastic by calling the people who actually believed Paul was dead 'freaks.'😂 I think, during the time when they weren't getting along, John felt that Paul was 'dead to him' because of the way he felt but he definitely didn't think Paul was actually dead. It was just a play on words.😉

No my friends, there is no Faul or Billy Shears* or whatever that "copy's" name is, because Sir James Paul McCartney isn't dead, that was something someone put together in the 60’s in order to confuse people, just like with any conspiracy theory. Okay, Billy Shears was actually one of the Beatles. -Ringo Starr. "But Lenny, Paul's teeth! They look different from before!" -Yes. Because Paul actually WERE in an accident and the tooth was damaged after a moped accident in 1964, so it's not even the right year.

I've also watched the "get back" series and the new "let it be" docu, and clearly one can see the moles Paul had in his right cheek and the most visible one is on his neck. I got lots of photos of Paul before 1966 and he always got the same mole spot ever since. I wonder what will they have to say about it? That the "fake" Paul painted/planted himself a mole? Lol

Pepper you will something that looks like - I ONEI X HE DIE . Between the he die is a double arrow pointing up and down. Pointing up to Paul and down to the grave. It could be taken as the date of death Nov ember 9 or September 11. The person who is given credit for the design of the drum skin is Joe Ephgrave. It also claimed John was killed to keep him silent about the Hoax. Anyway, the thing is a total crock. Supposedly, it's a tape recording of George, but the voice is a bad English accent that doesn't sound like George, doesn't even sound Liverpudlian. Also claimed that John actually composed some of "Paul's" songs as a tribute to Paul, such as 'Yesterday'. Funny, I could have sworn that one came out in '65, more than a year before his "death" (I was 7 then). Like I stated, it was a complete crock!
