I have. I find Mike Winger’s analysis a bit over the top to be honest. After listening to him, I was, like what seriously you think that is ‘dangerous?!’ Try refreshing, helpful, relevant, but here guys just know that there is a context to it, and it doesn’t meet the same scholarly standards as your tradition bible.

Mike Winger has no qualifications to translate. Sounds like hypocrisy, which is what he has been guilty of in the past and confronted on. Brian is a liar. They are both doomed unless they repent.

@@TElias5 you are smarter than what you just showed. You know the translation is bad and does not faithfully transmit God’s word but instead that of Brian Simmon’s creative and imaginative thoughts. Follow God instead of man. Junk the Passion translation, leave the church that uses it.

@@TElias5 faced with facts some are just hardheaded and stick to their belief which are fiction. Distinguish facts from fiction. I invite you to compare a more faithful translation vetted by a team of credible Bible scholars (not a solo person like Simmons who is not a Bible scholar) who know the biblical languages of Hebrew and Greek like the New American Standard Bible, New International Version or the English Standard Version with the Passion translation and you’ll quickly discover that the Passion (in reality not a translation but a paraphrase) is 50% much longer. Brian Simmons all by himself has twisted the Word of God such that the Passion paraphrase is merely his word not God’s. By sticking to this you’ll dangerously end up with a mistaken or even idolatrous relationship with Christ for reading or listening not to the Word of God but to words of Simmons. Unlearn what you learned by having been brainwashed. Face the facts of reality, let go of the fiction of your belief.

The passion translation should be put where it belongs, on the fire! It is a perversion of true scripture.

So his mocking of the standard English translation of the Song of Songs tells me all I need to know about his translative and literary credentials. Obviously does not understand the context in which the song was written.

@@TElias5 The Passion Translation is not from God. It's the words Brian Simmons has put into God's mouth. Brian Simmons wants to add another chapter to the book of John. Joseph Smith did the same thing in adding his own words to Scripture.

Being right or wrong with God isn't a popularity contest. Consider how many pharisees mocked Jesus or any prophet for that matter for claiming the sort of thing Brian is and yet you fully embrace it as cannon. Now you know what the Jews felt when the witnesses said he casted out demons in God's name and they thought no. They completely thought it was the work of Satan. Interesting how many Christians are doing the exact same thing without acknowledging the thought behind the words.

Why, if as Brian claims, Jesus himself helped Brian with this "translation" have corrections been made in every new edition printed ?

If your reaction to someone who you believe is a false prophet is hate, then you aren’t being led by the spirit. If it’s compassion and you are praying for Him to realize where he’s wrong then it’s the Holy Spirit. All of you who are reacting to what you believe is false teaching with hate with statements like “him and Joseph smith will have a lot of time to talk about this” insinuating that he’s going to go to hell, are greatly deceived. People who truly know Jesus grieve for people who are in error.

my sister quoted something to me in the passion translation that sounded strange. my discernment kicked in so i did research. THIS IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD!!

Hmmm, this man grossly misunderstands Song of Solomon. Immediately ripped it out of the ancient context and put it in our context to intentionally make the word of God sound foolish. What a liar, and a fraud.

The Passion Translation is Dominion Theology(or 7 Mountains Mandate theology) mixed up with scripture. Brian Simmons is putting a lot of words into God's mouth that He has not spoken. I pray my fellow believers wake up to this. If speaking the truth in love is considered a "critical spirit". Then I will continually be guilty of it.

While I have not yet reviewed this translation (I am a biblical scholar), the KJV has tons of italicized words and phrases throughout the entire Bible that the translators added and were not there in the manuscripts that they used. That is the device the publishers decided on in order to tell the reader which words were added. And they felt no remorse over adding to the Scriptures.

O what a mess. I don't have words. Do not even know where to begin. Other than to say, we will ALL be judged. Doesn't that scare ANYONE at Bethel ?

That is not a translation it is a paraphrase with this man's personal theology added in ... Jesus said woe to those who add or subtract from the word of God .

@@TElias5 Please do some research .. this man is not qualified to rewrite the Bible . He has rewritten parts to make the seem to support the NAR theology . Jesus said cursed is anyone who adds to or takes away from the word of God . Beware .. run from this

Born again means you are like Nicodemus, not Jesus. For Jesus argued against being born again, which was Nicodemus' misunderstanding of what Jesus was saying. Jesus LITERALLY said "born from above", not born again at all. And you did not perceive that. Hmm... does that mean you are not "spirit-filled"? Or does it mean that even "spirit-filled" Christians can be deceived. In fact, "Do not be deceived" is one of the most commonly repeated warnings in the New Testament to "spirit-filled" believers.

I am just amazed at how little respect Brian Simmons has for God. We already have the KJV bible and it is all we need to study the bible - and get a true meaning of the Gospel. The passion translation - is a book concocted by Brian and is in no way a translation. It is his Gospel according to Brian. It is no more factual than the film - "The life of Brian".

I love how God continues to speak to us today. Brian, God bless you in every way you've been obedient to him in the carrying out of this mammoth task. Even if I generally gravitate to the familiarity and comfort of my beloved KJV, I still love how you've crafted these verses and given us more to chew on, more to imagine, more to envision. Sometimes I get stuck in my understanding. I love to pull out a different translation at those times just to get the spiritual juices flowing again. God shows up. Thank you for providing another translation for our arsenal. We are mighty warriors in Jesus. Jesus is Lord!

I asked Holy Spirit about TPT. He said "I prefer the KJV and NKJV". So to 'test the spirit' I asked another friend to pray on this. She was told the the same and when she pressed in was told "it's off and not accurate."
