    only thing is you need to know how to use it, many have one and can't really use it if they don't have premade models from something like thingiverse. If one can design in cad then it is a worthy tool to have. Many did not know and are stuck with a 3d printer collecting dust, lol.

    Nice cable color choice. I went almost (black and grey but no silver) the same direction but I used Asiahorse because of budget. First time using them. As someone who had to remove and reattach the combs after snugly plugging (and trying to unplug to no avail for now) in the 24 pin and the CPU cable I appreciate what your company did with getting the way the plugs (and combs) faced right. Sucks getting the combs backwards before the realization that I got them backwards so I did have to deal with some twisting.

    If the VGA power cables were also mimicking the 24-pin color pattern instead of just black and grey three times, it would had made it look even prettier. Kudos for all parts crafters, the build is indeed gorgeous.

    I bought 5x 3ft (~90cm) USB 3.0 M-F ext cables & 2 packs of cable mounts. USB cables plugged into the back & then held by cable mounts stuck to the front-top of my case. It's like having a USB 3.0 hub but all directly 1:1 with the back ports. Good for multiple flash drives & most other devices (when frequently charging these occasional use devices). Easier for cable management & finding empty ports with extra spacing.

    This is why I wish more custom cable companies made a diverse lineup of wire combs that aren't "cut to your size". I see those two 8-pin cables coming off Jays board and since they aren't loomed together into a nice even 16-pin, my OCD gets OCD. I have a 12-pin cable going to my board and two 8-pin cables going to my GPU and I wanted some nice chrome combs for them, but I have a hard time finding something like that. I usually end up taking a bunch of 24-pin plastic combs and cutting them down.

    Been watching Jay before he was grey. Likes that he builds high end expensive systems. Also like no nonsense practical systems that don’t break the bank. Cooling systems unless refrigerated don’t cool components any cooler than ambient temperature. Why not build a refrigerated system for less money that works better than any radiator unit with all the fancy and expensive fittings and parts. Promoting systems that really do no better that ambient temperature to me is a waste but they are pretty and I guess you could consider works of art. Jay build a practical system for those of us that throw the box under the desk.

    The pcie riser cable is made by linkup. They were considered to be the most reliable riser cable for pcie 4.0 (I don't know if that's still the case... Better suggestions below are always appreciated for future potential users). Quite a few builders were having problems with riser cables when pcie 4.0 launched. Manufacturing a reliable pcie 4.0 riser cable, is, evidently, much more complicated than it might seem.

Haven't you ever accidentally pulled the plastic housing off the end of an IDE cable? Many were made with simple tabs on the ends, allowing manufacturers to easily place the cable between the plastic housing and compress.

    Jay if you are worried about the weight of the flow meter causing a failure in your tubing, imo I think it would be best for you to go with your first idea with the flow meter and angle it upward from the GPU that way the weight of the flow meter is supported somewhat by the tubing due to gravity. You could still use the extension on the right side of the meter and go for more of an right angle entry into the distro plate to help counter balance the flow meter.

  • @jimhiggins6870

    @jimhiggins6870

    2 жыл бұрын

    The weight of the flow meter will be of little consequence to the integrity of the run. Coupled with the fact that the run is incredibly short, which further adds to the rigidity. You can see how tight the grip of watercooling fittings are (the good ones, as is the case with ek torque in this build), and their weight capacity during Jay's videos of nebula. Think he used alphacool, but the results should be similar.

    Jay being a guy who hates subbing to stream/video stuff online, your channel is one of the very few I keep up with weekly. I am a hobby builder that wishes I could open a pc shop but unfortunately the income is just not there to start. I envy you for creating a way to bring in a decent income while doing what you love!!! Computers are my life! You have by far the most knowledgeable pc build streams and I frequent your videos when I do a build. I love the more adult humor content that you provide and less of the nerdy humor that Linus provides. Don't get me wrong Linus has good stuff too but I can only tolerate listening to him for short periods at a time. Also I appreciate the seriousness you bring to your teachings and builds. I would love to see you do one of your giveaways where you pick a random sub and send them, or let them pick (within reason) the parts for a build. Have them stage up and video a build just the way you guys do. Then once they are completed send it to your shop for you to do a review of the build side by side with their video and where they could improve or what you would have done differently etc. It would give the audience a grasp on things that are commonly done when people with less knowledge than you build a pc and what to watch for. Thoughts?

Ordering tubes and blocks and radiators is straight forward, but figuring out extensions or other adjustment fittings is a real challenge for planning. The flow meter can’t be placed flush against the GPU because that’s where the “PWM” power cable goes to on the meter. Also, there’s almost no sensible manual for the meter so be sure of the flow direction and flip the inner turbine around if needed before filling the loop.
