Alara has been favorite character since day 1. It broke my heart when she left, but they handled it so well. I was very happy to see her come back!!

Good thing she wasn't killed off. Her bone loss was a great way of removing the character without it being permanent.

When they initially showed her walking I immediately thought that’s a woman walking. Then they showed her head from behind, and I said that looks like Alara’s hair. And when the holodeck doors opened I reacted the same way Dr. Finn did. So freaking awesome 🤘😆🤘

I really hope, if renewed, they bring Alara back for the season 4 finale, and make it a tradition to have her in every season finale of the show

That Alara showed up was bittersweet, it basically confirmed that this episode was a bookend and that we might not see anymore Orville after this point. Still, was happy to see her again, and is definitely a great send off to the show!

Alara was my husband's favorite character on the show until Thala showed up. During Comic Con a couple of years ago I was able to get in line for the Orville signing. My husband was unable to come and I told her he loved her character. She asked if I wanted her to give him a video message. She recorded it on my phone and he was SO excited! It was one of the nicest things a celebrity has ever done for me and I've met a lot of celebrities over the years. (Not bragging - just mentioning it for comparison purposes.)

The best series finale was done by Babylon 5. Jumping 18 years in the future with the alone in space fated death of Sheridan after his friends come to say goodbye. The mystery of what happened to him described by Yvoniva, but the audience knows what happened as he was reclaimed by the first one. Then to epilog the show production like a long novel miniseries on PBS or Masterpiece in the 90s. That was artistic. I waited until 2016 to watch it. I left it unwatched for 18 years. This however is cute, sweet and upbeat. I did like the music in the episode. Did Seth MacFarlane sing the opening standard. He has several Sinatra style albums.

Seeing Alara come back really drove it home for me that they were treating this as a likely series finale. That's depressing to think about, so I keep reminding myself that the original Star Trek only ran for three seasons. Despite its cancellation, it launched the incredible universe that we know, cherish, and currently make questionable decisions about (cough J.J. Abrams movies (not you Beyond - you were written by a real Trekkie and even included a reference to the Xindi - you were fantastic) Discovery, Picard, and I still haven't seen Strange New Worlds so idk if it's annoying yet). I firmly believe that Ensign Rivers (sorry not sorry, I love cramming in references, even if it's to the Star Trek that many dislike) has made something pretty awesome here. Even if Orville doesn't get renewed, I still think this could be just the beginning.

I missed Alara a lot when she left. The episode, Command Performance, is one of my favorites. I'm glad she made an appearance in this Season 3 final episode. I hope it s not final final.

I just binged this show for the first time, and I have never gasped louder than when Alara showed up! My #1 character next to Clair and Isaac!

Could be fun if they give Alara the Tasha Yar approach. Coming back every so often for elaborate stories.

I think I read that wrong. Meaning kill Alara in a senseless death, she time travels into the past and has a doppelganger for a daughter, who then becomes the Orville's mysterious nemesis _every so often for elaborate stories._

I was devastated when Alara left, but I came to love Talla just as much as her. Everyone is saying that they'd like to see Alara back permanently, but I feel like that would mean getting rid of Talla. There can't be 2 Chiefs of Security on the Orville.

All the characters in THE ORVILLE are wonderful. But my favorite by far is ALARA KITAN. She really reflects sweetness, beauty, honesty, charm, tenderness, charisma... and that smile... ALARA lights up the whole screen every time she smiles. I know. She is super strong but her BEAUTIFUL heart is soft and fragile at the same time for those lucky enough to reach it. Seeing her in the series SAVES my day and l don't lose hope of seeing her again in future seasons of that AMAZING series that didn't have all the luck it deserved.

This show is great. What a perfect balance between comedy and sci-fi. The cast is great. We need Alara back in the Orville…

I REALLY didn't see this coming watching the finale. Its SUCH a beautiful moment having her back. Only goes to show how much this series makes you care about the characters. Orville forever!

I didn't realize how much I missed Halston on the show until she showed up like this.

We are known in Britain of being stiff upper lipped. But when she left the Orville. My stiff upper lip tremored. Emotionless??? Forget it! My feelings went through the window! And then some! I've never been the same since 1997. And there's a very good and obvious reason for that!

Some of the best Sci Fi I have seen in years!!

Cried during this scene. Cried again when rewatching the scene on KZread. It’s amazing how attached one can be to characters.

She was always my favourite Xelayan, and with how earlier this year I had both shoulders fractured and couldn’t do ANYTHING without assistance 😔 And despite how far I’ve come with recuperation, I feel as pissed at the situation as Alara did when noticing her strength decline. I’ve been known as the strong girl of my family, and to have trouble reaching up high let alone putting/taking something weighty off a shelf is disheartening.

Don't get why we can't have both Alara and Talla in The Orville. . I miss Alara

It kinda baffles me that they can't have a dedicated gravity for Alara and her people. I know it would drain the power from the ship to simulate the high intense gravity but come on.

I really liked her character. IMO, she had a much better chemistry with the rest of the cast than the actress they picked to replace her. I know the real reason she left the show was because she and Seth were screwing behind the scenes and then they broke up. I wish Seth had not done that. I miss her character

There is no reason why Alara cannot return permanently. Talla doesn't seem to have any issues in normal gravity so Alara can manage too.

Basically, some Xelayan's bodies will "adapt" (read: get weak) in response to living in low gravity. Other Xelayans bodies won't. ("Low" being relative their home planet of Xelaya, which has about 8-9 times Earth gravity.) Alara was unlucky, and turned out to have the kind of physiology that will weaken if she leaves Xelayan gravity for very long. "LaMarr told Alara that he developed gravity treatments that would have allowed her to recover while staying aboard the Orville. However, Alara decided to remain on Xelaya to mend her relationship with her family, and she retired from the Union." - Orville fandom wiki

She left in Season 2 because her actress Halston Sage chose to leave the show. She did not leave under bad circumstances, and the production team was always open to a possible return.

I'm guessing because Talla is significantly older and thus has spent more time on their homeworld; meaning she has a more tempered body. And remember, Alara could _barely_ stand the high gravity of Xelayah which she eventually had to wean into. But that's my guess.

Also, LeMarr had created gravity treatments that would allow a Xeleyan to keep their abilities without degradation. Alara declined them to continue spending time on Xeleya to mend bridges with her family.

I was sad when she left, but then I was happy. I realized, in reruns, how much I disliked her character. She was a physically strong character, but not an internally or emotionally strong character. She whined a lot. Plus, from a personal level, she made bad choices. Screwing around with your boss is the best way to kill your career. If you always assume the relationship will not work, then you will save yourself headaches.

at least she saved us from having to see moleface as the hot one on the show. there wasnt any point in watching after she left.... unless it was to see ed act as cucky as humanly possible

Nice of seth to let her back on the show briefly after he ran her off when their relationship fell apart. Shame no one draws attention to the fact that it is shady that they were involved in a relationship in real life even though he was basically in a position of power that he used to push her out after they got done dating.
