"loving any one of us is a death sentence...isn't it?"...Now Hayley is realizing why Elijah was holding back during SE1 and SE2...he was so afraid of loving her and her loving him in return and to lose her would "break him". I think this scene helped to cement their relationship for endgame...

Agreed and the same for her and Klaus after Jackson died she was able to see things about both Elijah and Klaus . She did defend them in many occasions and as time went on she understood them more.

The way Hayley picked up Jacksons shirt, smelled it and broke down is exactly what I did with my husband's shirt the other day. He passed two months ago. I feel like loving me was his death sentence. Rest in paradise, my sweetheart. Love you too much.

@@jadawilson1144 he wasn't patient!he snapped out the second he realized Hayley loves Elijah and they weren't even married in that time!he was never grateful for the things Elijah did for him and Hayley!how many times Elijah stood up to Klaus for them and Jackson was never grateful for it but actually tried to poison him in 2x21 and even once(and that was actually the first time) Hayley fought for the Mikaelsons with the new enemies he got angry and left while Elijah became heartbroken for Hayley a thousands of times!

This is my favorite scene with Hayley and Elijah because you can see the raw, yearning love both have for each other. But this is about the special connection Hayley had with Jackson and seeing the pain she is in because of it broke my heart.

This scene will never cease to break my heart. Phoebe's acting paired with the music in this scene was just so beautiful and heart wrenching. Although I honestly don't understand what everyone's problem with Jackson was. He was kind, loyal, and brave and only wanted what was best for Hayley and Hope. I know I'm one of very few who felt this way but I cried really hard when they killed him off and the fact that Hayley had to sit there and watch, unable to do anything, as Tristan ripped his heart out of his chest made it a million times worse.

"Loving any of us is a death sentence." I just loved how they ended the episode with this perfect scene. All #Haylijah they are so in love, although Hayley is grieving this scene is so powerful and speaks volumes.

Everyone is on here saying they didn't like Jackson. I he thought was a good character , and great husband to Hayley( they were actually kind of cute) . But somehow he just didn't fit in, like he didn't look right for Hayley , nor fit in with the Mikaelson family. But Hayley and Elijah are perfect for each other. I was sad because of circumstances they weren't able to be together from the start. But Hayley will move on and be with Elijah(hopefully) 💟💟

Her death was the best for me.

This was heartbreaking, but so beautiful. Phoebe's acting has been beyond anything I've ever seen her do this season. Her scenes break my heart. Starting to respect/love hayley so much more. Best season so far, hands down.

This scene was so hearbreaking, you can tell that she blames herself so much for getting Jackson into this, and for not loving him the way he loved her, meanwhile Elijah just staying quiet by her side because there isint anything else that he could do or say but just be her shoulder to cry on.

Well she killed herselft so Greta don't kill Hope because Elijah was there for that kid Roman,Hope was laying on the floor and Kkaus stabed by Elijah.They made that scene so Hayley didn't had any choice exept to kill Greta whit her so Klaus and Hope don't die from Elijah and Greta.

I cant stop watching this! It is so beautiful to see hayley so vulnerable and elijah always be there for her. The part when he went over and sat with her killed me. Definitely one of my favorite moments of the series

My favorite part of this scene is that Elijah heard Hayley crying and rushed over to see what was wrong😭😭❤️❤️

Now this was one of the most saddest scene in the originals you could actually feel Hayley pain... i wish Legacies would be like this 🖤❤

This scene is so heartbreaking, it shows the real love between Haley and Elijah but also it shows her connection with Jackson, I mean I wasn't the biggest fan of him because he came in between my ship but I was shocked when he died and I didn't expect it at all, I think I will miss him tbh

I honestly don't have any idea what to say about this scene.. my emotions are still all over the place and I have this.. kinda empty.. feeling in my chest.. really empty.. I've hated Jackson as long as I can recall because he came between Elijah and Hayley but I was in shock when he died, then there's this scene.. it's about Jackson and it's about Hayley's grieve.. but it's also important step for Hayley and Elijah and to their relationship and it means a lot for this show, for Haylijah, and for the shippers. I love the fact that it was Elijah who came there, and just sit with her.. and that he has always been there for her ❤

I ship them more than anyone! They just get each other!!! This is one of the most heartfelt scenes ever!!!!

After watching numerous shows, movies this is the scene for me that still define the meaning of true love, how he was just there for her every time she needed someone, they never had a formal relationship but the way they respect and love each other was just so wholesome, they put their loved ones before their desires and that's what took Hayley's life, and even Elijah's sacrifice.

I honestly loved this scene! What would have made it even better is to have seen him taking her into his arms to let her cry into his shoulder.

We get to see her that hayley did feel for jackson and loved him! She did love him she is broken... Ima miss jackson the alpha of the crescent clan !

Apparently Elijah had more lines to say in this but the directors let Daniel and Phoebe kinda improvise a bit and they felt it was better for him to not speak and just be there. He said it in an interview.

This scene broke my heart, such an emotional moment and great acting from Phoebe

I've heard Daniel Gillies say in interviews and at panels that this was one of the most memorable scenes he filmed in the whole series for him.

Phoebe is such a great actress... i cried along with her T^T the emotions are too much to not cry in this scene

You'd think that a scene like this was meant to emphasise on Hayley and Jackson's love, and how much she missed him, but you know what I think? I think this was one of the most important Haylijah scenes in the entire show. It shows how for once, Elijah pushed away all the family drama, and he was just there for hayley. He let her cry on his shoulder and he just sat beside her, listening to her. This shows that their love, no matter how matter how painful it was, it was true love, it was pure. Daniel and Phoebe acted this scene out so well, you can literally feel the pain.

KAT Meow lol, it doesn't make him a killer, as you know he didn't remember anything, he was thinking he is protecting his fiancee. Klaus was one who "killed" her, he caused Greta's hate by killing her husband and then it all came back and found his daughter and Hayley. Hope, Roman everybody was guilty for her death. But her killer is Greta, not Elijah.

not only the song made me cry when I saw this episode it was her crying that did it....I know it is just acting and it's all fake but when you get into a show that much it's like real life and I almost felt her pain. It was so hard for me to watch this I almost skipped it, i hate seeing people upset... but she did such an amazing job!!

Watching Hayley reminded me of how I was when I lost him....I was forever heartbroken, I was angry at myself, at him.....but I never stopped crying I never stopped loving. I was guilty for not loving ENOUGH so hold yours close to you....I wish I could hold him in my arms just for a few seconds again to smell him again...
