Please note that all the MForce watches in the Orient current line-up are actually divers, with standard diving bezels. This particular model is obviously a tool/field watch (the compass bezel is actually pretty handy when you're lost on solid ground). As for size: those liking the bigger G-Shocks will have no issue with its size or the crown guards. And comparing it to other watches isn't helpful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I for one thinks it's a badass , affordable watch from a reputable brand. It doesn't want (or need) to be pretty. It's built to do a job.
About time! I waited so long for this video that I went ahead and bought the orange version of this watch. 😂 But that's ok, I actually love it.
I actually like these. Huge value for money, as the prices seem to have dropped significantly lately. You have the same specs and bracelet as the OS diver for half the money. For those who complain about weight consider the silicone diver or nato options.
I really like this I’m hoping they do a sensible size version one day!
I do like it and understand where you're coming from on the size. For me, being used to big watches from my venerable 44.5mm Mako XL to my G-Shock Mudmaster GG-1000 and as I have an 8.1" wrist it might fit me ok. I do like the look to be honest but I think the bigger wristed people may find it more comfortable. Excellent review as always Shane and worth waiting for!

A G-shock comparions is a great way to look at it. If you like the larger G-Shocks and can comfortably wear one, this should be perfect. I still have a GST-B200 and a GBD-H1000-1 I never quite got used to. I should probably sell those.
Walked into a shop last night without any intention of getting a new watch but this exact model was on a huge discount and I just couldn't resist, yes it's huge, but somehow with the design it somehow works? I really don't mind the size even on my 17cm wrist, it just looks awesommeeee
I have owned several Orient watches. and for a mainstream brand they offer very good value for money, however when compared with many micro brands they just appear poor. The watch you reviewed isn't bad, but it's the size of a clock, and the lug width is daft for a watch of that size. Great review as usual
I’m 100% with you on smaller sized watches, but honestly this one looks great on your wrist, lucky you! Really unique design which makes the watch original without being too weird despite the unconventional shapes and the gigantic size. In my opinion the relatively narrow bracelet is a smart move, it makes it look less bulky (at least the outline). I’m afraid my wrist isn’t large enough for it, but if I were you I would keep the watch
I got the dive variant from Amazon warehouse at a really good price considering the rrp is about £600. I didn't think I was going to like it at 45mm but I find it wears smaller due to the case shape and dial size and doesn't look any bigger than my Triton. Quality is a definite step up from the likes of the Kamasu/Mako as seen on the bracelet, case finish and clarity of the crystal plus it's ISO certified. The movement has also been modified with added shock resistance for the mainspring and anti magnetism and sits in a shock resistant structure like an automatic gshock. One thing I noticed is that the Acon states Japan movement on the caseback whereas the dive models are made in Japan. Well worth picking one up if you can find it at a good price.
I love the compass bezel. That way, when I get lost underwater I can pull out my map, calculate the position of the sun, turn my bezel to the appropriate direction, and then..........oo000OOO

You run out of air?
6:56 -- The f6727 is essentially a f6922 with increased shock resistance. In my opinion, it's a better movement than the nh35 (Better accuracy).
Love mine in red! For less than 300usd can’t bit that!
I'm a massive fan of M-Force pieces but I have the same apprehension over the size, I think it'd be way to bing for me but it looks incredible

The 2015 M-Force delta was 48mm in diameter.
Fine review as always Shane. I would MUCH PREFER a 38 mm with a Power Reserve as in days of yore. It is a fugly case, ditto watch….yuck….off to buy a huge Invicta….
Good review. Not a fan of the M-force series as they seem way too big for me and the look doesn't do it for me either. Still love Orient though despite their occasional "miss".
I don't know,i just got mine today and i simply love it,works perfectly for me with this size and feels quite comfortable to wear

Good to hear, It's a really cool awesome design, just wish it was a little smaller for me.
For the boldest, a bit big for me but quality watch
Hi Shane - very fair review. It is never going to get a "meh" reaction, is it? Either "OMG it's a hatch-cover" or "OMG so kewl". I miss the old M-Force designs from 7-8 years ago: cleaner designs and iirc a power-reserve. The Star diver is a very different animal

I give it a "meh". Too big and too heavy for me.
I have an 8 1/2 wrist I am not a fan of those crown guards they Mess with my symmetry my OCD just cannot accept those.
Good review, the lug to lug is too long for me. Is is possible to remove the crown guards? If so, I wonder how it looks and if it might be more comfortable.

Looking at the screw heads I’m assuming you can remove the crown guard! It was my exact first thought too. For me personally it wouldn’t worry me if they did come off. Only issue maybe is the screws will be too long to go back into the case. So either source smaller screws or leave open. 🤔
You Guys "Shane" that preview these watches need to stop say that Large is a Problem.. for you it is. otherwise it's just an preference ..Key word " Preference".. You guys seen to think it's OK to just completely erase the preference of guys who like large watches, as if only your preference is what matters.. I could complain about how much problem a smaller 42mm watch is or I could just make a different choice in what to buy.. it's not a problem that there are guys out there who prefer a 42mm watch or that the watch is 42mm.. let's get it right guys.. size is not a problem, it's a preference.

I might have to go back and rewatch this... but I'm pretty sure I made that clear. That it's my problem, and with my 7.25" wrist I typically like smaller watches. Then near the end, I specifically say if you like larger watches, this could be a good one for you. Plus I purposely separate out talking about the various aspects of the watch, so as to not let that preference impact my assessment of those areas. So I like to think I had all that covered. However on another point. IMO this one wears large, even for its size. I'm even working on a review of the Seiko Arnie (almost 47mm) and it felt more comfortable than this m-force.
I notice the crown guards have an Allen key screw in them - did you try taking it off to see if it helped make it more comfortable?
@RelativeTime

I haven't. Someone mentioned they wanted to try, but couldn't figure out what size to use.
It suits you fine. Not to big at all. Its a beaty
If I have learned anything from having a smaller wrist it's that bund straps are a great way to pad out big watches
@RelativeTime

That might be something to try with it.
The name M-Force has a certain child-like gas station product quality to it. I could see my 12 year old self getting excited about an M-Force at a swap meet. Especially if the back opens up to reveal a couple survival items, like matches and a fish hook.
Size somewhat excessive for me. Crown guards, although a desirable addition, are end too large. Very good review. Thank you.

Its a cool design, but yeah too big for most.
And NO ONE - heck, that is a heavy watch! Man, 1950 grams... almost 2 Kilos on my wrist! 😅
I am a big Orient fan, but this one is too big and too heavy for me.
Reminds me of an Invicta. Too damn big. Needs to be smaller and ditch the Mickey Mouse guards. Orient does make some very nice watches though at affordable prices. Orient is to Seiko what Tudor is to Rolex.
Are those crown guards removable?!
@RelativeTime

Good question. I've had a few people tell me they have tried, but can't figure out what size hex to use. It's something odd.
It reminds me of the oldTudor Iconoclast.

Yes! I was thinking same.
Buenas tardes!!! Ese Orient no es de buceo, incluso el verdadero Mforce tiene tres certificaciones de la iso y este solo tiene dos y salió en 2020 y esta versión es 2021 pero este es un Mforce de tierra no de buzeo.
Yeah, man. I got the last gen M-Force in black w/yellow second hand. It is a big boy on my 7.25 wrist. The one you reviewed reminds of 2 things I dislike from my older one. Whatever size wrench one needs to take off the crown guard is beyond me. The other is the 20mm lug with. 22mm would be much better. The bracelet it came with was worthless as well. I wear it now with an uncle seiko rubber and all is well. Freaking bullet proof! Also the Orient Star Diver is another story and in my mind is not really compariable. Had one of those as well but got rid of it just because the crown/stem was just too damned wobbly like my old Triton. Had that in the shop 2 times before Orient could fix.
Probably Buzz Lightyear's diver watch
I'd never heard of these Orients. It looks like it would be at home on the wrist of someone hunting a Predator.
Just go watch an aragon release video you'll feel like you're wearing a datejust 36 afterwards

... or some of the bigger Invictas.
Looks like this could belong to the Phoibos family except for the poor lume. My 44mm diameter Samurai is much sleeker looking for a big diver. You are right about the crown guards, Shane. Thanks anyway.
Bigger is always better 😎😎😎😎
"...land shark, tuna, and monster. All with a sandwich....." Throw in a chocolate fountain and ice cream machine and you just described my dream dinner buffet!
One of those "oops...damn!" times, right? Cheers Shane, be well mate.

I'm still glad I got to check it out, but yeah.
If they got rid of the crown guards it would look pretty good.
That's a beefy looking watch.
1950g ?!? This watch really weighs its place. Hardly for everyday use.
@RelativeTime
Жыл бұрын
sorry, its 195g. last 0 is a typo.
Too gimmicky for me. The crown guards are so huge they take away from the watch balance.
It looks like a Phoibos to me. I like the dial but I'm not a fan of skelton hands, and of course it's way too big
i wish ORIENT would stop reinventing the wheel
am not a fan... to bulky for my liking.... cheers
Never thought I would say no to an Orient ... but NO.
1950 grams 😅😅😅
The crown guards and that bezel. 👎🏻👎🏻 And No. This watch doesn't even come close to a comparison to the Turtle. How could you even suggest that?
@RelativeTime
Жыл бұрын
It's close in terms of size and price. Although the turtle has that cushion case with a shorter lug to lug, so it vastly helps wearability.
Cool looking watch but the compass bezel would be a dealbreaker for me if the size was not already. I like the aggressive Seiko Monster-like styling but it would be too much heft on the wrist as a simple timekeeper. Great review. Thanks!
Whoever designed this watch simply has no taste. Its uglyness even impaires its functionality. Those crown guards ... seriously? And that compass ring on the bezel is just a stupid idea, as it serves no purpose.
