The Orient Kamasu is simply one of the best dive watches under $200. With upgraded specifications such as hacking and hand-winding on Orient's in-house movement, a 200m water resistance, and the addition of a sapphire crystal make this incredibly rich-looking diver with a few unique color variations one of the best affordable dive watches on the market. For under $300, you'll be hard-pressed to find any watch that matches its specifications, from a brand as reputable as Orient.

Have the green teal version. Indoor looks black and when I step outside the green sunburst kicks in. Makes me smile every time.

Saphire Crystal is something Seiko need to learn n put in entry level watches, because It doenst change much the final price. Theres alot of cool Seikos but i dont but because of that.

I recently entered water with the crown unscrewed, but much less water passed over it. Dried and checked several times; not a single atom under the dial to indicate flooding, and is still ticking as if nothing happened.

And indeed Orient is extremely reliable. I have a Tristar with that fancy day button over the crown that may easily be 25 years-old. Runs smooth, keeps great time and the button snaps like new.

The most interesting part of this video is seeing Epson behind the watch. Seiko Epson bought Orient, improved it's movements and that's some really high quality stuff in these watches. I didn't know this and it wasn't mentioned in the video.

Not refuting but do you have any more info on Seiko improving their movements? I was under the impression that they still operated somewhat autonomously. I’ve built tons of my own watches with Seiko NH35s and I actually think orient makes a better entry level movement.

I have the black one, it's a great looking watch. Everybody thinks it's an expensive watch.
Sunburst red looks beautiful!
Have the blue. I have bought some more expensive watches since, and even though it is out of rotation now it still is a really impressive watch.
I have the Mako USA II, I love it. Mine actually says “made in Japan” on the case back. I love the jubilee bracelet you have on yours, I assume that it’s aftermarket.
Can we talk about the accuracy also 99% of them come out of the factory running at +7-0 seconds from the 25 Iv personally heard from.

The ray 2 is pretty hard to beat at its price point. I have the black dial version that I picked up for $130. You might wanna fact check the 600 feet stat. I don't think 200m actually means it's been tested up to 200m. It typically means you can do recreational diving with it. The pressure at 200m/600ft would get the best of most "200m" watches on the market.

If a brand like Orient says it's good down that pressure, it probably is. They still keep on the cautious side and inform that it's not indicated for scuba diving, which is technically the province of diver's certified watches. Anyway, i doubt if 1 in 100 buyers of watches nowadays do something wetter than sea swimming, so no practical worries in reality.
The watch in this video has black days. On the Orient website (and elsewhere), the days are red. What/why are they different (for the same watch)?

The best divers watch under $200 Me checking amazon after watching this video. Every Orient Kamasu sells over $200.
Everyone knows or atleast should know that 200m water resistance isnt actually 200m water resistance
Let's get one thing clear. 100 or 200 meters of WR does NOT mean you can swim down to 100 or 200 meters. Water moves and you move while swimming/diving, that is kinetic energy direct against the watch which means the force exerted is much greater. The test are done when both water and watch are completely still.
@ChronometerCheck

If it says water resist it most likely isn’t a true dive watch
