Enjoyed that mate, great video, can't wait for these to become available in Thailand, will definitely be going to check them out and see if I can get a test ride, I think they will be a popular bike over here if Ducati Thailand doesn't price them to over the top.

Been waiting for a real world test of this bike and your video made me a little home sick. I'm originally from Abingdon and I know hose roads very well. You picked some of the best. As mentioned below, I'm pretty sure that the National speed limit is still 60mph in the UK....but luckily your speedo was still reading in Kph. ;-) 🙂

kal be toatally honest whats it like? is it worth chopping in my 950 rve for this 698? i mainly ride on b roads in the uk for the twisties and the acceleration out of corners and heavy braking in to corners{as in fun on back roads with out cars in the way}will i be missing the top end speed and power? i cant afford to have both but just want a super fun bike for summer blasts,dont get me wrong i love the 950 but sometimes it feels a bit heavy and slow in the corners.but the top end of 120-140 is awesome when the odd boy racer tries to keep up, :}

Go for it ive traded my 950 sp in for the rve, i agree the 950 feels a bit heavy sometimes.

Really enjoyed that one mate, looks cracking 👌 I have a 2022 Husqvarna 701 supermoto and it’s brilliant to ride 🙋‍♂️ soo much fun especially with the twisty roads on my door step 🤓

@@hypermotardking excellent, all I’ve don’t to mine is remove the god awful can and put on a arrow can on it so it’s got a nice fruity note ☝️ to make them really sing would be to change the airflow and and remap! That really makes them become an animal 🙋‍♂️ that will be my next plan 🙌

Looks like you're ready for those wheelies & slides. Love your excitement in the video. Also, the bike seems plenty fast for what it is. KTM, GasGas and Husqavarna owners might feel different due to the slight torque difference.

The ktm,husky,gas gas is the superior wheelie machine and that’s about it. The hyper 698 really is a whole level above them in every other category. That’s my opinion after putting 200 miles on my new 698. I love it!

Nice job ! Remind me of myself when encountering numpties on the road.got 950sp as well just got demo on 698 Mono RVE what a bike so easy and light to ride going to get one only thing they are saying l won’t get it till sometime in july😢 summer will be coming to an end by then. said they would take my bike now and £800 guess that’s not to bad a deal but the end of July really!!! Got an neighbour who has some serious contacts at Ducati in Italy hopefully he can pull some strings for me🤞

Great video 👍👊 With a 30” inside leg, were you tip toe on your left with your right leg up? I couldn’t quite see in the video, 905mm seat height seems a long way up for my short arse.

Both feet tip toes.. little arse shift and you can 1-foot fully planted 👍🏻

How's the clutch feel compared to the Hm 950? I know the 950's gearbox is super smooth, how's the 698's gearbox feel?

Mate, like theres no change - proper smooth with excellent downshifts.. my small feet need adjustable pegs but once i shuffled and got used to it upshifts it was spot on 👌🏼

Awesome, bike got to sit on it at the NEC, still love my HM1100s tho, the front end being loose on weight change is most likely due to it being setup for a 6ft 14stone guy, It be worth getting the suspension setup for you, once you pick yours up ;)

When did you order it? I ordered it from Italy on November 23rd, it should have arrived by March 1st. Today they told me I'm late and the new date is by April 1st.. 😑

Great video, the range on the gears is impressive. The Ducati 698 Mono is such a neat bike. Curious how it's received by the majority of the motoring public in the United States. Will they pay the premium asking price for a super light high performance thumper?

I think the premium price is only putting off the true old skool supermoto guys.. but the ktm/husky/gasgas are getting dated and technology has moved on and Ducati are charging for that across all their bikes.

Yeah mate ! It drives me nuts to when people drive below the posted speed limit and drive bloody slow! Watching this makes me excited to carve it up the Rocky mountains that are only a 10 minute drive away ! Cant wait for my chance to test ride ! Come of Ducati of Salt Lake where's my test ride ? 😁!

For me it did.. just because it was so easy - once I get the 698 i’ll do more side by side

Why are people so bothered about all the torque of the other efforts like the orange one red and white one. Tractors have massive torque numbers but that doesn’t make them good vehicles for the road so yeah i guess thats why the other ones show off about the torque numbers, i suppose i would if i had an agricultural vehicle. So whilst they all plough around on those other ones i will just go on and enjoy a propper bike like the hypermotard 698, i had once the husaberg 650 supermoto and had to rebuild the engine twice after 4000 miles and it was fun but like riding what i could imagine what riding a cement mixer would be like. I’am surprised that the other ones with all that torque dont have a pull rope to start them.

The amount of torque one can put to the ground is limited by traction and wheeling. I prefer peak power because power is what gets you higher top speeds. If Ducati makes a enduro or dual sport out of it, I may have to get one.

National speed limit is 60 on a single carriageway by the way 😉

People who keeping thinking “Ducati’s are unreliable” are probably mis-informed. I have ridden the shit out of my brand new 950 and not once cared about warranty.. its been modified and driven in all conditions and never had a single fault. The sound of the standard 698 exhaust is fine.. end cans maybe but a full system might be too loud - need to hear one out on the roads and not stationary in someones garage

@@hypermotardking Ducatis have become extremely reliable over the years i agree. But its a new engine and its also a one cylinder. Look at KTM. They can´t make their 690 reliable ( owned a 701 ). Im hoping that the Ducati is the better one in terms of reliability. Cheers !

⁠​⁠​⁠@@salin9964 Not sure that Husky are any less reliable than any other brand, my 2019 701SM that I have had since new now has 32K with only regular servicing. Hopefully my 2023 Hyper 950 proves to be the same. Looking forward to a test ride on this 698 though.

@@user-rv8ri2bb3z Me and a good friend of mine had massive issues with our 2021 701 SM bikes. I wanted to get a 950 Ducati but got myself a MT-09 SP 2023. 950 SP is still my dream bike, unfortunetly too expensive for now.

Nice place to start if you’ve never ridden a single before……I have owned and ridden plenty of singles, currently down to 2-a 1971 450RT Ducati (which you have probably never heard of), and a 1993 Gilera Nordwest-the Nordwest was the original factory produced supermoto, 558cc, 4 valve, double overhead cam, short stroke, weighs 140kg with 52 bhp. If you want to ride the 695 on track take it to Cadwell Park-it’s made for it…..

@@hypermotardking Donnington I love, but National not the GP circuit-the Melbourne Loop is just a waste of fuel for me. I haven’t ridden at Mallory since 1971 so no real current experience of it-Brands Indy would suit it and Oulton Park.

Looks a ton of fun ,but is it better than the 950 sp that's the big one

Different bikes.. 950sp has better equipment, more torque and power but is 45kg heavier

Those throttle/brake cables up front look proper stupid. Otherwise what an awesome bike, can’t wait to ride one in Aus!

IF it could carry 2 people and cost 2k less it would be my next bike. wonderful machine but its likely for people who are either wealthy enough to have a 2nd bike or really dedicated to big SMs. The most annying thing about 698 is the non red subframe on the standard version, like cmon, it ain't cheap.

It isn’t cheap for sure.. and it will probably be a 2nd bike for most Ducati owners.. can’t see many 25 year olds parting with £12K.. but its the race technology, ecu electronics and more premium components your paying for compared to the more mass produced competitors

ive seen many reviews and read articles about it. NO ONE mentioned something so important? that is a game changer. if rear pegs are in the box then the bike is tested for the weight of a passenger and the subframe is built accordingly. @@richardwatts9093

2021 KTM 690 SMC R (forward) Quik Shifter is total BS, miss shifts so much that dont even wanna use it. That Ducati QS sounds spot on.

Way too expensive for what it is against its competitors and even the 950. In Australia the 698 RVE is more than a base model 950 and %40 more than a 690/701. Ducati are taking the piss
