Well this song is still fun but after doing research it is deep! A strong message that still resonates today.

A message about one of our 2 political parties turning American streets into a war zone. Republicans hand guns out like candy and refuse to do anything about gun control. This happens nowhere else in the world at this rate. Vote accordingly!
It’s a very catchy tune, but the lyrics are very dark. All about gang violence and teens killing each other over nothing. “One got wasted, the other’s a waste.” “If you’re under 18, you won’t be doing any time.” The lyrics in most Offspring’s songs were full of social criticism with a sneaky upbeat tune. It does get stuck in your head, then you start thinking about what you are saying.
I’m a country girl fm TN.. I became best friends w a rock girl !! She played this song for me and that was it for me !! Lv lv lv this song and this group ! 👍❤️
This is the song they play at a hockey game after a fight as the culprits are going to the widely divided penalty boxes. They are singing about buying weapons with ease in shools,Ones in the morgue, the.other's in jail, one got wasted & the other's a waste. Commentary on our times.

What's hilarious is how many people criticize this song for glorifying teen violence. It's easy to see who listens to all the lyrics, and who just listens to the chorus.
Dexter Holland has completed he put on hold to focus on rock & roll. The Offspring's Dexter Holland has finally finished the Ph. D program in molecular biology he put on hold years ago to focus on rock & roll. This dude can sing and think !!!

and he's a licensed 747 pilot.
Love this band! Way better than Green day who got the recognition for their singer sounds like he has a head cold everytime he sings. I believe Dexter Holland was persuing a Ph.d in physics? Similar to Brian May of Queen. Pretty fly for a white guy ,lol.
The sone was written about gangs in LA / Southern California school. Offspring is from San Diego. The title comes from the classic movie "The Warriors." "Warriors...Come out and play-ay-ay..."

Holy shit. I’ve been listening to this song for 30 years and I never connected this to The Warriors. 🤦♂️
Offspring was hard back in the day. Great audio production.
Hells yeah! Love me some Offspring.
The biggest hit of that album is Self Esteem - great song!
I do remember hearing this a lot. Good one to walk into a party with it on, puts you in the party mood. Great reaction!

Not such a party once you interpret the lyrics.

@@carlgibbons5777 still a jam of a song
Their last drummer in 2021 was removed from the band for declining a covid-19 vaccine. That guitar riff between the chorus & verse is very Egyptian like

the got sued by the band "agent orange" for stealing that riff, even though that riff has been around for hundreds of years. "the vandals" even wrote a song about the lawsuit called "aging orange" making fun of them.
Love The Offspring!!! More please!
The Offspring : the kid's aren't alright - gone away - gotta get away -
I only knew this band existed because they are mentioned in Gilmore Girls. But i loved this song! It just sounded fun and "surfy". Also i kept thinking of "Uma Thurman" by Fall Out Boys... Like your impression of the cobra. ☺
Just wanted to throw this out there Ty is mad wicked cute😉 Love watching him get into the music...y'all are phenomenal...still hoping you check out some Incubus😉
Not even their best Punk song from this album! Smash is simply a Masterpiece!
First time I heard 'em in the 90s I had to chuckle
My favorite song to play on Guitar Hero! It’s so fun!
Honestly, where I grew up, there are a ton of musical talent, the offspring, no doubt, sublime, reel big fish...

That’s a gold mine of bands right there, hot damn
♥
If you like Band-Maid, you should try "Lovebites" ! A all female Japanese metalband, try the live song "Holy War" !
This always reminds me of the wrestler Raven using this song in ECW
All I know of Garden Grove, CA is that the "Crystal Cathedral" of Robert Schuller Ministries was located there. The Hour of Power was broadcast from there for many years. That's all this practicing Jew knows about it, though.
💯💯💯
Yes it is stuck in my head now.But I'm ok with that.
I took a trip to Garden Grove, smelled like Lou dog inside the van, oh yeeahhh.
I live in garden Grove. It's near Disneyland, Knott's berry farm, and just south of LA.
Upbeat song with not so funny lyrics. Teenagers getting away with it after doing heinous things, "come out and play" indeed.
This album is flawless but after it things went downhill.
"The Kids Aren't Alright" is the only song i like by them. The singer voice is quite annoying imo
