Charlie nailed it really. The media dislikes jordies because he often reports things that are against the interests of the people who own the media companies. So he’ll point out all the ways the stories aren’t true, and those same people in the media will just shrug and say “who are you gonna believe, us, or the guy we’ve been constantly running negative press about for five years?”

Normally, I don't tune into the Podcasts but since our little Aussie institution is guest starring in this week's episode, I had to tune in. Also, we Aussies do treat criminals here as folk heroes. Our nation was built on the backs of convicts so it makes sense. I tell you something else, my old primary school is right next door to a former active prison. I'm old enough to remember news crews showing up sometimes during school hours whenever there was a breakout or prison riot or something. The school yard was bordered on one side of the prison by this massive bluestone wall that was standing there since the 1850s. Too many sports balls were lost over that wall. This was the same prison once that had incarcerated Ned Kelly. The same prison that Mark "Chopper" Read once stayed in and had his ears cut off by a fellow inmate. Hell, one of my former writing teachers was incarcerated there in the 60s. Now, that prison is closed and much of it is repurposed as apartment housing... and I'm possibly looking for an apartment there. How times have changed.

This is why I love you Charlie. You have an amazing ability at seeing what’s right or wrong with the world, and using your platform to shine a light on it. It takes a lot for me to genuinely like a KZreadr as they often seem quite disingenuous, and you only ever see the highlights that they want you to see, so I’m always sceptical of their true character. However, I’ve always felt that you were genuine and honest, and nothing has ever changed that. I’m also an Aussie, so I doubly appreciate when you’re focusing on someone like Jordan and introducing your (likely) mostly American audience to him and the issues he’s facing from our corrupt media. Keep being yourself brother. You’re an absolute fucken legend! Cheers mate.

Agreed. It felt as though that one bloke was deliberately misinterpreting what the others were saying. They were obviously talking about cultural influence. To pretend that glorification within a scene doesn't exist is deadshit behaviour; so is ignoring American centricism in media. That entire argument, along with others (i.e., labelling people who feel grossed out by the age gap in DiCaprio's relationship jealous women), was so uncomfortable to listen to. Growing up in Melbourne, I still remember Crown Casino’s flame ‘decor’. Casually walking along the river after enjoying dinner and drinks, then feeling like your face is burning off as they set them off. Appreciate the work you do Jordies! I’m on the GC now, maybe look into Mayor Tom Tate hahaha!

14:49 I remember going to a tour of a prison that held Ned Kelley in Beechworth, going through all that he and his family had been through before being sentenced to death. Its funny how much broader the concept of an anti-hero is here in Australia.

Last time jordies was on it was really dissappointing how little he got to talk and how uninterested the group was in the discussion because it really wasn’t relevant to the content type jordies makes. This isn’t the case, this was honestly one of the best podcasts.

Jordan is amazing. Doing what he's doing and succeeding against all odds is admirable. The fact that I just listened to this entire almost 2 and half hour long podcast, when I normally never listen to podcasts, just shows how incredible influence people on the other side of the world can have on you. You hsve my respect, Jordan. Stay safe out there and keep fucking over those stupid idiots.

12:57 I grew up with Spanian, and when he says “I’d just stab you” it’s genuinely not a threat. He went to jail for about 5 years for robbery charges I think, and a guy in our neighbourhood fucked his girl while he was inside and was bridging up about it. When Span got out he bashed him and stabbed him in the throat and almost killed him. I think he was originally charged with attempted murder, and ended up being found guilty of maliciously inflict grievous bodily harm and did like 8 years or so. Can’t remember the exact details, but I saw it happen. He also tried to slash another guy up with a box cutter/razor and ended up slicing his own arm lol. He grabbed his shirt with his left arm, and slashed with his right, but the other lad pulled away at the right time and the blade slashed his own arm open. It was a massive gash. Blood all over the grass at the front of my house. He’s off his head.
