Really wasn't sure what kind of reaction my appearance on this podcast would get, whether this audience would even be familiar with me, and I'm blown away by the heart-warming reception. Thank you all for your kind words, I was very happy to come on this show and love reading all the positive comments on it from you all!

Now this was a treat. Used to watch Jon's content years ago when Machinima was still intact like 08/09. He's a national treasure imo, one of the unsung heroes of KZread because he made content that matched big productions like G4TV and Roosterteeth but did it all by himself. He was like Adult Swim for this platform. Puts a huge smile on my face ngl

Jon if you're reading this you're one of the realest content creators going, you really seem to care about cinematics and story up there with major TV shows and you should be proud ❤️
Great, insightful interview. 1:01:09 The "mutual contact" in Vancouver was me. I was the guy who put Jon in the room with Burnie and Matt at Rooster Teeth to create their teamup videos (OH MY GOD IT'S GARY BUSEY!), back when I was still involved with RT (I haven't been involved with them since 2019). I was also the one who got Matt and Jon to email each other while Jon was trying to recover his videos from Machinima. Very disappointed to find out years later they apparently did nothing to help Jon after expressing interest in doing so. Jon is a great dude, funny as hell, so naturally creative. Didn't deserve this crazy BS!
So glad you had the legend Jon on this. His work is a childhood favorite
recently saw the hahaha you're poor meme from Arby and the chief and now this pops up... feel like the universe is telling me something 😂
I appreciate Jon for personally re-uploading the Arby n the Chief series. Im sure he did with other stuff Machinima had of his but that one in particular was my intro to Jon and to Machinima and I deeply appreciate it still being available to watch and reminisce and even catch up on episodes I missed (every one after season 2)
YOOOOO, You got Jon! That’s so cool, I still watch his stuff since he’s still making content over on his own channel now since Machinima.

@John Calder holy shit I never got the notification, thanks for saying that.
Jon CJG taught me that even simple things can have deeper stories and characters with unique personalities and depth. His writing in Arby n The Chief, Hard Justice, and One Life Remaining were memorable in my eyes. I can get why Jon might think some of his past work is "cringey" but it still taught me something that many of the overrated people in Hollywood are severely lacking. Jon CJG, if you're reading this. You've left a bigger footprint than you believe.
Thanks for this! Great to see Jon around and kicking still! I did some stuff for Machinima back in the day! Crazy times.

Great to hear the Machinima story from the perspective of several content creators. Shame that the company had such an ignoble end, marred with lack of communication and just simple neglect. I think Jackson is right on the money with full screen acquiring machinima they shut it down and stripped it for parts they liked to make rooster better, I say this because rooster teeth after the machinima purchase revived Inside games with Bruce lawrace and Adam which is still going by the way except with a new cast, not only inside games but also other machinima properties as well

Holy moly. Good Jon, Job. Bite the foAm.
HOLY MOLLIE, johnCJG, its been 13 years since I've seen your face!
Charlie you are friggin hilarious man. Thanks for all that you do. The true hero we all need
very glad some of the media created is preserved . i think another possible reason of the Corpos privating the videos was mentioned earlier that the copyright / ownerships is very grey and could have been a hassle getting striked or dealing with microsoft ( unfavorable depiction of IPs ) , they didnt want to have vs the projected revenue if the videos were kept up .
Loved Deus Ex Machina, The captivating thing about Digitalph33r (CJG) was he took Halo 3 maps and shot them like Tarantino. Most scene shots were a completely different H3 map, yet they fit together to make seamless environents. Whereas RvB was more likely to edit over the top of footage. Jon had a creative way with his camerawork, more respect.
