    "This character took $200K from me" 🤣🤣🤣. Kakeru has turned Angry Bird into ANGRIEST Bird I love content like this. It says a lot that arguably the best player in the world is happy to share their own knowledge. That attitude is why both the Birds are destined for the Fighting Game hall of fame.

    Just a note, he's definitely saying 200k, not 200. But yes I agree, it's one of the best things about the FGC as a whole is almost everyone is happy to share knowledge. Everyone who truly loves the character they play will always be happy to brag to you about their coolest tech, the sickest combos, etc. And outside of tourney, they love to talk to each other and improve both of their ability to play matchups.

  • @ToveriJuri

    @@TenjinZekken People share and they don't share. If there's a big tourney coming and some pro has discovered something really strong, they usually keep it to themselves until after the tournament. With money on the line. It's understandable. But yeah generally the competitive scene is mostly pretty great most of the top players are pretty chill people. And even the troublemakers and complainers are usually pretty decent people when you get down to it. There aren't that many leffens.

    It would be amazing if he does. Back in the day in Japanese arcades, there used to be "Mooks." These were notes that all the arcade players worked on together, so someone might put something like "I found this great tech against Ken" or "Here is the optimal punish combo for whiffed Amnesia", etc. That was one of the reasons why their players are so good, not only do they play the best, they are sharing knowledge and deconstructing the game together. This is why Angry Bird is going to be so good. Even if players start working out how to beat him, he's got the mindset to work out how to deal with new problems he's got to solve.

    OMG I forgot something important to keep in mind that I didn't know until Yipes pointed it out on his Can Opener commentary. Blocking any of JPs spikes actually take less driving gauge than parrying them does. I think it was a BananaKen match but I was pretty surprised to see it for myself. This is some awesome tech. I love that JP is so good, but SF6 is such a good game that people aren't complaining they're coming together to lab him out of top tier.

  • @Creidexe
    @Creidexe10 ай бұрын

    I've been a lot in the lab lately for this character as well, and yes. JP's standing fierce is great to destroy drive gauge since it can be used to gain distance immediately and quite difficult to challenge at his max range. We still need a fucking degree to fight him properly but we getting there. Great stuff man!

  • @dsansome1
    @dsansome110 ай бұрын

    This is awesome stuff Amjad. I'd already been labbing and figured out how useful run stepkick was, but this other tech is superb. Was really having a problem dealing with the portal trap into JP's delayed DR, can't believe I didn't even test something as simple as sweep on reaction! Can't say I've lost 200k to this character, but I've definitely been losing some points taking unnecessary risks with run tatsu to punish portal activation/fake fireball!

    @8:48 . If he spams drive impact right after parry he will beat you. Tested a many times in practice mode as well. You can see it doesn't say punish counter. Only way for it to work is if you're doing it at literally almost the same frame, which is pretty much impossible. Test out out in practice mode. FYI: If he gets wallsplat instead of punishcounter there IS time to press DI from his side. TLDR: Not actually a punish for parry unless you press at the same frame(which is impossible for like 99.99% of people)

  • @Vandalier74

    @Vandalier74

    6 ай бұрын

    It's a wall splat punish. Tapping parry has 26 frames of recovery in which you can only cancel to DR or block. He cannot DI you back at all, and if it's the case, it won't say punish counter bc he was blocking. If you couldn't make this tech work, you probably set it up wrong dude.

    This is different from Nemo's tech because Nemo's was specific to one particular situational read. This is an option-select, of sorts, because it's allowing for a situational reaction. If you only use Nemo's tech, then you only counter Amnesia, but not parry or forward jump.
