I was raised by a truck driver that drove in a time when this song talks about. I am a truck driver myself and do whatever it takes to get the job done as my father did. That is what trucking is all about and I am proud to be a trucker like my father was. RIP DAD (EASYMONEY)

I remember the old days of trucking when I was a kid . Drivers had two or three log books. I remember myself asking for big tickets at the fuel stop to fix my log. What they call hard work they now call a crime is exactly right

What we called hard work they now call it a crime. Truer words have never been spoken. These days all you see are sweat pants, flip flops and texting while driving. But the old school guys are the problem. My ass.

aright so the first half makes sense. basically about an outlaw who was runnin hard and long and his woman's gettin fed up. But from the part where he got a phone call and saw the devil and a microchip and the DOJ and whatnot, can someone explain it to me? Unfortunately i haven't had the dubious honor of running in the glory days,

If you had run in those glory days. You'd understand that tn to Tucumcari is a 1000 mile clip. When you drive for days like them boys did. You had vision quest... for like of a better word. Seen shit that wasn't really there from being up from so long. The lyric is about a old hand who had been up WAY long

Hes talking about new age trucking.. everything computerized right down to the fact that they know when you're taking a shit no exactly where you are what you're doing how many times you used your brakes if you got a passenger in your seat it's all computerized it's all technical now that's what he's meaning.... the microchip meaning like not a good thing, but yet again that's just my take on it🤘🏻

Don't understand the tribute to a man who took the cowards way out. Just a difference in how we were raised i guess, those who commit suicide in our family have never been mentioned again.

Well wether or not you think it's the cowards way or not until you are the one to keep the legacy going you don't knw shit, my father committed suicide but I haven't forgotten him he rides every mile every step of the way and to be a 32 year old I have lived every word of this song In my life so if you wanna say something about the cowards way out send me a private email for a meeting location and I'll be glad to help you with your concerns

@Some 1poisoned the water hole yes in my family they would be seen as cowards, do i view them as such? Hard one to say, i lost a friend, a good one to PTSD and suicide. I miss him dearly, i believe he took the cowards way out, he hurt so many when he left, it was selfish, but at the same time he told me things, things that are horrifying, things i cannot repeat for the sickness and vileness contained within. I'm not sure i could live with the demons he did either. Its a hard one

@@glennreagan7319 thats the right attitude, i aint trying to be disrespectful just saying we were raised to look at it as cowardice and selfishness. Everybody has demons. I drink to get rid of mine, that in itself is a cowards way. I have no illusion there.
