Thank you so much. I loved this song as a kid. It was on the radio a lot about the time of Gypsies Tramps and Thieves and Amos Moses. I was real young ...seven ish? ...we had just moved to Maine. I really like the collage and how you timed the hypnotic water drop. So cool. 👍 ...excellent taste. 😍 ...oh, yeah I can't decide what my fav line is. There's so many good ones and the simplicity of how he tells the story is amazing. He stitches it together so effortlessly. I do remember as a kid particularly liking the part where he's describing the snakes. As a kid that was probably the part i enjoyed the most. At the age I was it was hard to understand the whole story.

I have never been in the Florida swamp, but in Louisiana, and MS'sippi swamp, it's creepy during high water, fog, when it is cold, and after dark. We had a houseboat in southern Ms'sippi, Pearl River swamp for many years. I could swear that during high water that I could see something just below the rippling water and hear the water whispering, early in the morning and right at dark. It seemed like it was whispering about or to me. It could have been just knowing how dangerous rivers and swamp are tho. Jim Stafford was WAAAYYYY ahead of his time! With this and "Jasper" he combines Country/Western... and GOTH!
Growing up we had a 1955 Wurlitzer jukebox in our basement, and this was one of my favorite songs we would play over and over. Thanks!
Thank you Mr.JimStafford for a truly timeless ballad, and an big thank you to batlady2 for an equally exceptional vid platform to bring it to us on, greetings from ne fla
The art work is fantastic! This song was written and performed in "my day"! I understood it then, and I appreciate a younger generation is appreciating the words now! There are "Hatties" -that live and have lived... meaning what? We wear hats!? Yes, we do!
the animation is fantastic ! very cool. jim stafford's southern air is so soft and sweet.

Hello how are you doing?
Louisiana biker here- My dad used to play this for me when I was a baby. I've always loved this song... the pictures used were great. Thanks for uploading.
NOT YOUR TYPICAL..."OH , BABY ,BABY " BULLSHIT...FANTASTIC SONG...I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR JIM'S SECOND ALBUM FOR YEARS .
Dedicated to my late Brother..... For you ''BEAR'', your favorite song..... I love and miss you.
Been 45 years, this song still sends a shiver down my spine every time I listen to it.
Perfect video :-). Nice lyrics,, telling a real story. Better than all that "Love you love you love you, left you, left you, left you" crap that we 've heard so many times...

My wife & I were married in 1972(@19&20) sose we were Hippie Dippies!! We heard a lot of Jim Stafford in his break-out year of 1974. Neither one of us can now remember hearing "Swamp Witch" more than twice. Nice graphics/good vid, TY!! My wife hated "Cow Patti", only because she worked w/ a girl, that played it on constant replay😅😅!! Karma struck, again, when our oldest daughter began dating a bum on a moped. We referred to him as a MO-PAGAN!! And be danged if Karma didn't smack us again, w/ our grandson. But, there is hope for our gr-grandson, so far, he a good child.
Made a trip to Branson about 35 yrs ago to his theater, his show was 2 hours or so and i laughed so much my face hurt, absolutely fantastic entertainer
Nice job on the graphics! You done him proud I bet, thanks :)
