OMG THE MIGHTY MIGHTY O'JAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, the Ojay's came prepared. They brought their entire band and orchestra!
An incredibly high quality live performance. No pitch correctors or backing tracks fed into their earpieces; this is the real deal. Almost no group can reach this standard today live. Philadelphia International Records which was Gamble & Huff produced a staggering number of hits. There is a Nederlands TV documentary on them, that is amazing. Few Americans know how great Gamble & Huff were, and how many groups they wrote songs and produced for, O'Jays probably being their best and most successful.

There will never be another Eddie Levert or shall I say Ojay's.. They never rushed their lyrics and maybe because they were complete songs. They teach you how to love women the right way. Every time I watch this video, I feel like I'm in one of those Southern Baptist Black churches, where the preacher is in the final stages of his sermon and has the whole church in a groove, rocking and standing on their feet, as the preacher belts out every phrase, the members can't sit still any longer, and a bunch of the women, bursting with emotion, are taking off down the aisles, screaming and shouting.

If all languages you in the face of earth, you choose the truth.👌
Eddie went everywhere he needed to go on that song..Uptown downtown around the corner and to the moon and back. Loved the Ojay's since I was a kid..Did get to see them and Gerald in concert early 2000.

@@lakanjalaroberts8278 You're absolutely right! They recognized greatness on a level they'd never experienced. I watched it over and over again when I first came across it. I could feel his emotions. It was like they were in a different realm or something. It made me cry.
They put some gospel on that. That bass singer had them sounding like a gospel quartet. That was fire. 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 4 part harmony. The tenor did his thang too.

Saw them in concert 1973 at the bay front center and Eddie Kendrick open up for them with keep on trucking. Man what a concert and those were the days.

Cannot get enough of this song. Love it.
That Philly Sound!😊😊❤❤
I've been listening to O Jay's since a kid in 70s. I just discovered this song late 2021. Stairway to heaven was my favorite slow jam until I heard this....REAL MUSIC 💯💯💯
