In regards to how Kieran disappeared, if you wait a LONG time at the party when Jack is rescued, Kieran will initially refrain from joining in saying he doesn't want to get in the way. Later, he will start drinking and tell Arthur how much he appreciates the gang taking him in. He will then wander off into the woods and pass out drunk. Presumably this is where he gets grabbed, meaning the O'Driscolls already knew where the gang was, which isn't surprising given how unstealthy they were and the Pinkertons tracked them down multiple times. Gives me some relief that Kieran didn't intentionally sell out the gang.

And how do you know this every time I’ve ever seen him he goes to sleep on the floor in shady bell. I honestly was just about to comment that lol. The way he pulls away from it in disgust/fear and the scared tone in his voice. Also the fact he senses that the same thing may happen to Dutch and he immediately pulls out his revolvers to defend Dutch makes me thing he truly did admire Dutch and care for the gang. Maybe although he isn’t a great person (he is racist and sexist) he may have just been like John in rdr1; forced to betray his gang (although the gang had already betrayed John and the government would kill John and his family if he didn’t co-operate. It's possible Micah wasn't a traitor at that point. He could have turned some time around chapter 2 after Strawberry, probably because he was approached by the Pinkertons the same way Arthur was. Micah was one of the few members out there and away from camp at that point, besides Arthur. Early on in chapter 2 he seems a lot more interested in the Blackwater money than anything else, but after Strawberry and returning to the gang and Dutch, he forgets about it entirely and starts cosying up to Dutch more and more and trying to be in Dutch's ear. That would mean the ferry job, which we know was Micah's idea, wasn't a set-up but instead just a poorly planned robbery that went sour, which would be entirely possible since we know it was Micah who planned it and we know he's not great at planning robberies, both from the stage coach robbery Arthur does with him and the failed bank robbery he mentions.

Nah. Happened well before that when he abandoned the non fighter gang members like Abigail. And attempted to abandon once close/trusted fighters like John & Arthur. Then took in Cleet & Joe Micah's buddies without vetting either of them. Dutch didn't show any mourning over Susan Grimshaw's death later on, despite her once being fiercely loyal to him and his gf before Molly. Dutch didn't say a damned thing about Molly's death either. The male chauvinistic part of his nature wouldn't permit him. His psychopath behavior became second nature by the time he murdered that old woman on Guarma. TBH Dutch's rapid descent transforming into a psychopath really began with Hosea's death. After that, Micah worked on him until he had Dutch convinced at that point their gang had way too many mouths to feed. The rest is history.

I think it would’ve been a nice touch if The O’driscolls had distinct members of the gang, like how the Van Der Linde gang has Arthur, John, Javier, and etc. obviously Colm would still have the insane number of members he does but with a few high ranking ones that could be killed off or kill Van Der Linde gang members from time to time, I think it would make the rivalry stronger for the distinct members in Dutches gang and it would add more challenges facing the O’driscolls, plus instead of unknown low class members doing things such as kidnapping Arthur, attempting to free Colm from the hanging, killing Sadies husband, and killing Kieren, it would be done by higher class members to add more hatred make more infamous rivals to the Van Der Linde gang, just an idea though of course.

If you really think about it keiran is the most tragic character in rdr2, his parents died from disease when he was young, then the stable he was at threw him out, he tried it with the army but it didnt work out, he was then captured by the o'driscolls and was basically told to ride with them or be killed, he then captured by the gang and just when he feels hes starting to fit in and that hes found his place in life, he gets kidnapped and tortured to death, then has his body brutalised, while the gang he was finally starting to be apart of doesnt even realise
18:09 if you fishing with Javier, Arthur would talk about Colm and Dutch, saying that they weren't allies but they understand one another. Until Colm developed a meaner streak and Dutch wanting a different life than what they were doing
Whenever talks of the next game and where it should go next happen I noticed a lot of people gravitate towards Jack Marston, since we got a brief snippet of his young adult life in the first game. This is a story I want to see told, but first, and I think logically speaking, it makes the most sense for the next game to be played as a young Dutch, meeting up with Hosea, the creation of the gang and its culmination to where the second game begins, as well as finding Arthur, John, Charles, Bill, and Javier. Also his relationship with Colm, their adventures, and their eventual falling out. Maybe even some of the other influences in Dutch’s life that helped shaped his anarchist philosophies and developed his hatred for the government. Didn’t he serve in the military briefly? Dutch’s love interest Annabelle, whose life and death I think had a huge impact on Dutch’s slow burn into a callous, vengeful man. The Blackwater job, the Ferry job gone wrong. There is so much to explore there, and the way they divulged so much of this information in the second game (literally even the smallest details like a picture of Arthur’s dad, his dog, etc) I’m pretty sure this is the direction they plan on going. Anybody else feel this way? For some reason I feel like most of the time people want to see Jack’s story next, but for me it’s Dutch all the way. I want to play as Dutch and experience his souring.
@PaulRodriguez9
2 жыл бұрын
Nah. The story is over for this gang. Plus if you do the Blackwater's mission or ferry mission. That wouldnt be a smooth transition to RD2. And it's called Red Dead "Redemption". Knowing Dutchs choices and fate. How the hell will he even have a Redemption? He dies a villain.
@ANNEKE1999
2 жыл бұрын
Yes but maybe more as a spin-off and less as a "Redemption" game. For that, I'd love to see Hosea as main character as he could have a redemption in the end. He even said to Dutch that he want noone more to die and that he wants all of them safe before he passes as he felt that he doesn't have much time left. It would be really interesting to see the formation of the gang from his perspective.

@@PaulRodriguez9 the next game could be called “Red Dead Rising” and the one after, Jack’s story, could be Red Dead Retribution, and it’s all about Jack trying to sabotage the American government for the way they used his father and then dispensed of him like cattle. Also as I stated, there’s a crap ton left still untold in terms of the gangs creation and everything else I listed, so I’m not sure what you mean by the story is over for this gang. A game about Jack would be a continuation of the story but with Jack, possibly starting his own small gang to fight the government. Sounds like a lot more to tell to me. As well as Dutch’s childhood. And the game would end with the gang bitching the Blackwater Job, fleeing north, and losing the last few people before the second game begins. Smooth enough for me lol.

I love the way that rockstar animated Colm oDriscolls face as he was about to die the amount of fear
This is what I love about open world game or sandbox type games, there's always a ton of really good lore behind just about everything
That pride and confidence on o'driscoll face changing into fear as he realises he's about to die is just muah
I love O’Driscolls for all the reasons of being the enemy. The one thing I think that is really cool that the Van Der Linde gang does do is have a color code. I love that they all rep the Color green. Gives more of a gang feel and more stereotypical of outlaw gangs.
Damn O'Driscolls
Thanks for going over the whole first chapter of the game. When I played I didn't know what was going on until I got the hang of controls.
The whole playing in game audio then repeating everything they said word for word is pretty spot on. Really good work buddy.
In reference to what Kieran said when explaining the similarities between the O'Driscolls and the Van DER Lind gang during the horse ride to "Six Point Cabin", you said that once you strip all of Dutch's "philosophy bull$hit" away, that the O'Driscolls and Dutch's crew aren't that different. But then later, you accurately pointed out that the O'Driscolls have no problem "looping the innocent into their schemes". And that's it! THAT is the difference between the two. At least it was up until the "Blackwater incident", and then everything began to unravel. In all of the newspaper articles and other RDR2 lore, they're described as the "Robin Hood types" - robbing from the rich, and giving to the poor and destitute. Colm and his cutthroats are no such thing, and only ever seem to look out for themselves.
Funny how Colm expected his men to fight things he didn't want to face himself. And the only time he was forced to face something himself was his own death
The burning of the Adler Homestead was the first clue that Micah was a traitor. It denied the gang adequate shelter and the huge fire might have been seen by pursuers.

Colm was trying to recruit Arthur. It's how he got Kerian too, he killed the people he rode with and gave him a choice, ride or die. I think Dutch wanted Colm to recruit Arthur so he could say he betrayed him. It's basically a sacrifice of your best man. Then he could have Micah and the dutch boys go kill him.
