It's called make-up. And true beauty is inside, not outside onn the skin.

The moment they first see each other for those couple of seconds it's looks like he felt he was dreaming. When she continues to talk you can seen him lose his balance when he realizes he isn’t dreaming, it's looks like he wanted to say something for all the years he missed her but he couldn't even process one word to say. The gestures of nervousness, the heavy breathing, and the fence being wrecked, shows how vulnerable, shocked, and scared they were. It’s like their hearts came back to life from being asleep as they were so overwhelmed with emotion. Real Love like this, you can't hide even if you tried. This was great acting.

Definitely the saddest part of the movie. It tore at my heart.

The breathing, the stare, unspoken words, these all can happen in real life when you finally get the chance to see your first love again after so many years.

Let me just say, Rachel McAdams is one woman who has aged wonderfully since this movie...released in 2004. She retains one of the most glowing smiles in Hollywood.

She is sooo pretty! Her smile is beautiful

I absolutely CANNOT watch this movie WITHOUT crying !!! No matter how many times I see it!!! 😭😭😭❤❤❤

I was in high school. I would cry so much every night because I had such strong feelings for a girl. This movie would destroy me. I would ball and then text her. But she, despite being such a beautiful soul underneath , wasn't all there. She kinda slept through life, and after not getting her, I kinda slept through life too until I saw her again

If she hadn't crashed, that would've been the end of the story. I guess Noah had that planned since he thought her how to drive.

This has to be the 5th movie with Ryan Gosling that I have seen in which he doesn't say anything in response, yet he "wins" at the conversation. I wish I could do this in real-life.

This Man is dedicated, the fact that she didn't even write him back nor make an effort to go see him is beyond me and the most selfish thing ever. Especially since they were teenagers he promised her a Home and Love....the audacity of her to say "It's not easy"....He fought in a War, had no money to his name and fought his own demons is enough for her to realize that he loved her. ESPECIALLY, him writing her letters for a whole year, only a small handful of Men to this day are that dedicated, loyal and passionate.

She didn't know he wrote her, otherwise, as is indicated in the book, she probably would have written him back. That's the problem with movie adaptations. They often leave out a lot of small, seemingly insignificant, details.

This film reminds me of my first love, it's been 5 years since we broke up, and I still love him, I'm looking for something in each to remind me of him, the look, the eyes, the voice and even the wrinkles😔 ... The film is beautiful, the two of them are a great couple , and Rachel is beautiful as an angel😍, her smile and look, both were created for these roles and this film.❤

Don't waste your life for her/him to come back. In real life things change, people change. If you see and talk to the same person after 5 or 10 years you may find yourself disappoinded and realize you have fantasized a lot of emotion in your head. Live your life as you want to. Travel and develop yourself. Who knows, on your journey you may find someone way better. In that instance, she won't even matter anymore.
