As a Marine infantryman with two combat tours to Iraq under my belt...I'll tell you what it means to be a warrior. It means sacrifice. Sacrificing your personal freedoms, time for your family, and any hope for peace of mind in the future. It's commitment. It means breaking your mind and body into a million pieces and rebuilding it into something dangerous. It's also a mindset. It means being able to face any threat and saying, "Don't fuck with me because I'm one of the baddest motherfuckers on the planet!" Being a warrior is being able to look yourself in the mirror every morning and saying, "Not today." And then you proceed to your mundane job, packing the memories of trauma from combat away in the back of your mind so you can try and function "normally" in society. It's pain. It's hardship. And it's suffering. Don't kid yourself. War is dark. And it will take you to places you never thought you would go. Semper Fi!

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles. ❤
