Thanks for the update on the Nkuhuma pride. They were one of the first lions prides that I began to follow. I guess we shall see an addition to the Mala Mala leopards in about three months. Hyena cubs are always cute to watch - especially when they are playing with one another or trying to grab a stick from one another.

That massive leopard got the ladies following him around. He know he's a stud and can get it anytime he wants. Ha ha. He's in no rush.

I have been watching videos of the NKUHUMA pride since the summer of 2016 when another channel on youtube used to feature them often. That year, 2016, the NKUHUMA pride had about 12 cubs. It is nice to ponder if some of those female cubs are still with the pride at 7 years old. Further, perhaps in the future, it probably would be nice to somehow trace a cub via DNA throughout its entire lifecycle. Birth to death.

I don't know...for me it's disturbing to see that even right out of the gate that the male hyena cub is abused from birth basically. That he will forever be subservient to the all mighty female.

Hyena are brutal like you said right out of the gate. Nature and wildlife can be a bit harsh at times. Makes one wonder how some even survive. Survival of the fittest!! For sure.

Have the Kambula and Nkuhuma prides ever brushed up against each at all as both seem excellent prides ?

They better be careful. There used to be a very old video of a lion that went after an animal in a burrow, and it caved in, and he got trapped in there and died. Little hyena cub in the middle: "C'mon now, quit playing around. Play to much".

Nkuhuma pride don’t usually go down male mala do they? I’m not familiar with their territory, but I assumed mala mala was kambula/Torchwood pride territory.

Nkuhumas were seen extremely often in MM in the years 2020 until just recently when the Black Dam males came into that area making it unsafe to do so for their 2021youngsters .
