You are absolutely right. Start a fresh with Bond on an actual mission. I do really enjoy the Craig era, and Casino & Skyfall are so high on my ranking, but we need an actor who really wants to be there and wants to promote and if generally happy being the face of the franchise

This is a very well done video. Abd agree Bond 26 needs to be Goldeneye with morden cinematography and fight cinematography. Bond needs up its merchandise.

Great video, Chris! You raise some really interesting points. What's the right mix of embracing trends and setting them? I just finished a year-long re-read of the Fleming novels. Perhaps I'll take you up on your challenge and branch out to some of the other literary material. Thanks for giving my hope for the future of the series a boost!

Such a good set of novels. I think Horowitz was the next best thing to Benson. One can only hope that this could be a direction they swing the bat at some point.

Yes why doesn't EON consider the continuation novels as source material. After all IFP approved those stories. It just makes sense. That Thomas Doherty guy is growing on me.

Speaking to a reliable source, IFP and EON hold the rights to two different version of bond. And it allows each of them to remain in their respect sandbox for continuity. I just feel like the time has come for them to tear that wall down and start working together to give us the best of both worlds.

I think Bond should go retro. What's old is new again. James Bond should be re-represented with a decor, ambiance and style form the 60's though not with the humor of Austin Powers but the sophistication of the franchise. Though humor in the Bond series should always be welcomed with easter eggs galore.

John Campea, now that Ian Fleming's novels are sliding into public domain, how do you think that will effect future James Bond films? Casino Royale is in public domain now, Live and Let Die will be in pd end of the year, Moonraker next year, etc. With the copyright expired, how can EON prevent competitors? Are independent low-budget Bond films coming to challenge EON ? Will an empowered filmmaker like Christopher Nolan move in and take over?

I have a feeling this is why Amazon has gotten involved. EON isn’t stupid, they knew this was coming, which is why we haven’t seen a new film be talked about. This is something they’re going to have to get ahead of and with Amazon’s help I’m confident that they will get some type of amendment put into place to prevent anyone from tainting the waters. Next to the Bible the Bond Stories are the longest running franchise in history. Everything else is up for speculation.

All great options. But Aiden Turner has also caught my attention and is presenting a strong case for the role as well.

It's time for Bond to stop apologizing for being Bond. It's time for EON to stop trying to symbolically kill Bond's nature to appease "modern audiences," most of whom were never Bond fans to begin with. Bond doesn't need to be "reinvented," he needs to go back to basics. Henry Cavill would be a great James Bond ambassador, which is exactly what is needed. God grew that guy on the James Bond tree and it's time to pluck him down and go for it.

Is it Craig, or is it the writing? Because Craig, in my opinion, was a fantastic portrayal of the character. But he really suffered from some bad rewrites and convoluted stories.
