    All the bikes are best in class, designed for this style of riding and ridden by people with amazing skill and ability. The bike you are most comfortable on and in control of is on balance as good or better than the shiny new featured one. If this is evidence of anything it’s that having the most recently designed bike is not necessary to win?

I am really enjoying it. Even in that "race" design in white/blue/orange, yet i am not that extrovert (but i've decided to ride again after years and having some proper bike, just colors don't ride :)). Spanish did a great job on that bike design overall!

    4:32 , anyone knows where to source that nice "lower headset cup spacer under head tube"? (to slacken HA and raise slightly the BB). I know Reverse Components do this type of 'angle spacer' but theirs is an ugly/skinny design because it makes the headtube look like with a gap on top of the fork's crown race. Cheers

    I was wondering the same thing and looking at it a lil bit longer, I wonder if you could find something like that at a sanitary installations shop. Basically, it's just some small pipe

  • @ggaattzz

    @ggaattzz

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@markowen2293 it's not just a pipe,.. it's the replacement CROWN RACE, just taller, and it should be precisely engineered and machined to fit tight on the steerer tube and this is where the angled lower bearing (most common is 45deg) will sit and take the preload (together with the upper headset) so that there is no play on the steerer tube. Check out Reverse Components' website for more details. Unfortunately their design is skinny and doesn't look good on modern fat headtubes. Functionality wise I think RC's 0.5 deg Angle Spacer is good, I just don't like the looks.

    Hi I have been riding trails and jumps on my hardtail for the past 3 years and am looking at getting a used full suspension mtb that’s in tip top condition except my friends are telling me to get a better hardtail instead of a full suspension because they say I’m not ready for one. Should I get a full suspension mtb or a good hardtail? Do you gain more confidence on a full suspension mtb?

  • @wolfrikvonschwarzblut3921

    @wolfrikvonschwarzblut3921

    2 жыл бұрын

    I say 3 years of riding a hardtail is enough driving experience for you to get a full suspension bike. The good thing about hardtails is that they teach you to pick good lines with fewer bumps and are excellent to learn on. Once you've learnt to ride on a hardtail, you'll find your limits expanded with a full suspension bike. You'll be able to take gnarlier lines and bigger jumps without worrying too much about the landing or a fall. Some say that they prefer hardtails for the more "analog" and "old-school" riding experience, but I'd rather have a full suspension any day. My joints thank me for that, as there's less vibration and impacts going into your body.

    Your friends just don't want you to get a full susp bike, because it makes them staying behind. Get one any time, you will not regret. I started mbt on a full susp, I see no point of having to start on a ht for some special reason. Just buy the best bike you can affort.

    @@Jack-mg6ln you will find yourself gaining confidence doing rougher and steeper downhills. The better the bike, the easier it gets to do gnarly stuff. I live in a mountain aerea here in spain, and on a HT I could not do a lot of the stuff we do. Maybe uphill would be easier, but down would be suicidal. I would only have a HT if there were no bigger hills than 250m elevation. B.regards

    High pivot has been around a long time in DH. It's not a fad it just needed enduro bikes to go single ring and a couple of boutique companies to push it out there for enduro.

  • @dylan-5287

    @dylan-5287

    2 жыл бұрын

    They've been seen before, decent chance they are a bit of a fad like plus size tires. Seems they're great for really high speed stuff like dh, but for your average rider it isn't there. Slow speed stuff can feel kinda weird. So it'll have its specific category that it's good in but it won't take over the industry. That's assuming the average rider wants more of a trail bike that's kind of a jack of all trades.

There are all sorts of platforms to suit the type of riding you do but saying high pivot is a fad is the same as saying VPP , single pivot etc are fads. Darn it, I've become a nerd.. The Strive L/XL can easily become 160mm rear by just removing the 5mm spacer in the rear shock, making it a 230x65mm. Moir is actually running his Strive 160mm rear and 180mm front usually, and even ran a 190mm front in La Thuile - both forks with a 15mm spacer. This should maybe point to what a new Strive could look like?

    The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. kzread.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.
