I always wondered why people ask what specific song is used in instructional lessons. Why anyone would care? The most important thing is right tempo, rhythm, and character of the music piece. By the way, Cora and Simeon, you are doing great job giving us your lessons in such an easy to follow form. Thanks a lot for shearing your art with dance lovers.

@@fundukis I would like to download it so I can social dance to it. As I am not a competitive dancer.. We social dance to music the instructors use for social dancing instruction at dance socials. We don’t differentiate between training songs, performance songs and social dancing songs. I like the song and think it would be fun to social dance to.

A rule of thumb - do not overturn the New York in Newcomer or Bronze levels in any federation-sanctioned competition. You will be penalized if you do!

In the open-style (or open-level) situations, you can overturn a New York without fears of penalization.

Hi Charles! That can be true. It really depends on the federation that you're dancing in. When we have students competing in Canada, we need to make sure our students stay very conservative with their amounts of turn. Down in the USA, in NDCA competitions - which make up the bulk of our students' competitions - invigilators tend to be much more liberal with their allowable amounts of turn. But of course, that's why we specified that this combination is not a syllabus level combination. We meant this combination specifically for open level.
