THE NEW NU! (NOT URETHANE) | Radical Rattler NU
Спорт
The NU Blue Hammer was one of the most unique and controversial releases of last year! Now, Phil takes that coverstock technology and matches up with his Rattler core when nobody was looking! Let's see how the Rattler NU does with a lower RG and a little more flare potential!
🚨🚨🚨BRAND NEW BRUNSNICK MERCH!🚨🚨🚨
I have collaborated with Inside Bowling to design some t-shirts and here they are! Sport some OG BrunsNick gear, check out the link!

With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
Launch Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
Entry Speed - Speed measured at the pins. (What you'd see on your home center MPH screens)
Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based from the True Breakpoint.
Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.

Any bowler who is speed dominant will love this ball. It just reads early and goes into a very controllable roll. it's a must have for this type of bowler.
Want to that video vs the NU blue for sure. I was wanting to get a NU for this league season...now I just need to see which one...
Too many new balls all out at the same time. May have to shift funds from my bourbon account to my bowling one.

I know what you mean, Ken. I was thinking about taking some funds from my down-payment on my Mustang GT for some new equipment. Unfortunately, everything is on hold due to shoulder surgery at the end of June.😮 So I'll wait another few months before I can try the latest and greatest from Big B.😂

@@charlespeakjr2168 use the bourbon funds to buy pain killers (high proof bourbon) to help you get through. My bourbon of choice to help with my arthritis after bowling is Old Forester 1920 prohibition style. Although Old Grand Dad 117 is a cheaper alternative

Assym NU would be pretty sweet
Looks great! A little more than the NU Blue is exactly what I needed....well that and lessons
You bring me not one but TWO radical reviews and we enjoy the podcast? This is a great start to my weekend! As for my favorite radical ball I’ll say the Mo Heritage innovator pearl 💪🏼
This looks amazing!!! I’ve been looking for a urethane like piece for college, and with my rev rate this one with start up a little better than most pieces I’ve seen. Excitingggg!!😁
Can't wait for this review
Very nice video. Dang Nick, the more I watch you, the better you get! You were looking nice & loose & not rushing your shot at all. Very good form, great results. My fav Radical ball is probably the Original Conspiracy (non HK22)
@brunsnick

Thanks! Bowling a lot more so repeating shots is becoming easier I guess!
Looks nice. You make every ball look good.
So crazy how different this ba is for different people. Watching Rob from Lane side reviews throw big hook 2 handed on his video compared to straighter is greater Brunsnick. Ball seems good for a good mix of bowler types.

Now let's see the Nu Mindset!...
Looks great! Hey Nick can you do a review on the blue tundra fire with a comparison to the red tundra fire please?
I think I like the look of the rattler nu better then the hammer nu
@TrevorPrinceMusic

I agree. And I have and use the Nu blue
These NU cover balls seem super versatile, id like to see it on a higher RG higher diff ball to really test how versatile of a ball Brunswick can make.
@brunsnick

Don’t see too many of those.
Still think this cover would be amazing on the DV8 Verge line.
Whoever did this video did a good job.
Ball looks pretty good for house from what ive seen. I may get one eventhough i try to stay away from the traditional urethane. Might try this different option
Great ball for down and in.

Absolutely is!
The Green Beyond Ridiculous is still hooking like crazy after 6 years.
Love my deadly rattler and o bigfoot hoping to add this to my radical bag
That looks like gas.. def compare it to NU. I got my NU in Feb with a 4 inch pin and my is much stronger than what was displayed here but probably due to more revs but similar speed
I am thinking Rattler NU and Hammer NU would be a great two ball arsenal.
Pre-ordered mine.

Nice! 🙌🏻
I would like to see this one against the hammer nu blue also
Just got this drilled up tonight, went 40X3.5X35 with 500 surface, love the reaction, only every thrown the OG Rattler at a demo, wasn't bad, but wasn't looking for a solid sym at the time, kinda wish I had the OG and the Deadly now to compliment the NU. Bowled about 2 games on a very used shot, if I get the same look on fresh, I may not throw anything else all summer and for most of fall league
Interesting to see a new brand take on NU, I wonder if it'll be any different.
Color wise it reminds me a lot of one of the old Brunswick Monsters, can't remember which one. Reaction looks really nice, could see this being in play for a lot of the rev dominant players to blend the cliff

Scream/R. It’s got a little more green hue to it.
It’s nice I’m going to get it
Envy tour looked good at nationals also. I’m liking this ball shape a lot.
Really liking the motion of this ball. Looks like it cold really bite from the left side.
I had to order the #SeniorCarry from IB yesterday.

They say if you wear it during league, you’ll carry one extra hit a game. 😎
Comparison video of the hammer NU and Rattler NU possibly?
Love to see this vs nu blue. So do these NU ball carry oil down like urethane, absorbe the oil like reactives, or something else?
You definitely have the best review on this ball. I’m primarily a down and in second arrow bowler, when the line holds in league. Have you used it in league yet?
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
I haven’t! My first use of it in competition will maybe be usbc nationals. League is over for me.
Honestly what I was seeing is, when you got left and pushed it out right of 5 board the ball burned up in that dry. But the one time you were left and missed in and hit 5/6 as the break point the extra oil allowed the ball to retain energy and roll back hard and strike. So I think you can play further left with it, but just need to keep your angles more closed so the ball stays in the oil. Having said that, this ball looks amazing from straight. I see this as a much better compliment to the Black Pearl than the NU. Great idea Phil!
I do have to say my benchmark ball in the Radical Rattler so with the Rattlers core and the NU cover stock I believe this would be an excellent pickup for me.
I love the motion of the NU cover. Only problem I have is that the surface changes WAYYY too quickly. My 1k finish ends up lane shining after about 6 games
My NU Blu has been really good for me in the 2 leagues where I bowl. Average is up 18 or so pins over last year and the major difference is the addition of the NU Blu to the bag. Also tried this on a sport shot and found that it worked pretty well there too. A 6-board shot hits very close to high flush a lot of the time. When it doesn't, well, that's on me. lol Also, the NU Blu is the 1st striking ball I've thrown that I can actually hit the 10-pin with. I use a spot two boards to the left of the last dot and aim at the gutter about 2 feet in front of the 10-pin. 10-pin spares are now a 90% proposition and not a 50-50 deal. Not great, but definitely a big step up.
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
I’d take that! 🙌🏻
Looks good to me. Would this ball be a good replacement for my Bonus Pearl. I like my angles closed if possible. I'm an older guy, 13-14 mph at the pins, 325 rpm. Good job with the videos. I appreciate your explanations of the ball reaction you are seeing and what you want a particular ball to accomplish.
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
I don’t think it would, no. It wouldn’t be as responsive on the back end. Deadly Rattler the better choice.
Looks like an attitude control
Any ideas as to why the Blue NU did not get more play on Tour after all the hype surrounding it when it came out? I would watch Packy insist on using the Black Pearl even when he was struggling and dont recall a single time seeing the Blue NU go down the lane.
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
They just liked the 78D better. Never had to get out of it.
Big fan of the videos. Don't have a Urethane ball in my arsenal yet. Being a speed dominant player, which seems to be the ball of choice for this play style? Tradition Urethan (Purple, Black Pearl), NU Blue, or this new Rattler NU? Keep up the great work.
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
I’d probably still suggest Purple and keep that surface clean and dull often being speed dominant.
I already have and like the NU for house, not sport. I'd love to see a comparison vid before I pull the trigger on this one. Any idea of and when you'd release that?
How do think it will do on higher volume patterns, like 25 plus mil
The place I'm bowling for the summer has a short pattern and pretty high friction lanes. My DNA coil burns up on almost any angle other than piping it straight and up the back hook set. Is this a ball where I might be able to play a normal gentle swing with my 275 rpm?
@Brunsnick So different enough from the Nu blu to carry both ?
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
Maybe! If you like the motion and want small differences to choose from.
How would this compare to the purple hammer? Also, would this be good for drier conditions when lane shined? Asking for a rev dominant slow speed player.
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
More shape than a purple hammer, can hook it a little more.
Hey Brunsnick I’ve got a Ebonite the one remix I’m looking to retire but don’t know what ball to replace it with. Looking for a ball that still an asmy solid have any recommendation?

Black Widow 3.0 👍🏻
Have you considered doing ball comparison videos? Maybe not the most precise format if you’re trying to define products individually but it’s great content for generating views and sharing your perspective on how different balls compare. Especially since you might know a little more about the balls themselves than the average joe
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
Used to do them frequently. Have pretty much stopped doing them except for when it really makes sense to compare. They performed poorly and took a lot longer to film and edit.
where's the mindset NU???????????? Cmon guys lets GOOOOOOO
I had the Hammer NU. Threw an 803 with it first night of league that I took it out. Never was able to make it work again. Like Robert Smith said, the cover got really squirrely and no matter what surface I tried to put on it I couldn't make it react the same. It was like it would be good for 3-4 frames then start to skid 3-4 extra feet and lose responsiveness. Does this ball have the exact same coverstock as the Hammer NU or was it tweaked a bit?
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
As far as I know it is the same. Remember, when bringing a ball back to box surface, you have to repeat all the steps listed.
Im intrigued to see a release with the NU cover on a ball with DOT technology. Maybe on a ball like the Brunswick Attitude that came out a couple of years ago..
@brunsnick
Ай бұрын
Why’s that?
@iradarden4865
Ай бұрын
Well, the NU Blue Hammer is the resin answer to the Purple Hammer. The Rattler NU is the resin answer to the Double Cross. Then an "Attitude NU" would be the resin answer to the Attitude Control. The Attitude Control had the DOT technology on it. So that was my thinking on it.

For me the black ridiculous with 2000 grit abalone.
Nick, Would you say this ball could serve double duty as an alternative to urethane AND as a spare ball?
@brunsnick

It could yes if you throw it with enough speed because it will hook some shooting 10 pins.
Its not Urethane...............won't over hook
What weight are you throwing? That ball rolls like my black widow

Hey Nick. I have a thought and don't slam me for this. What are the odds of Big B making an NU coverstock for each of their other brands??? It just seems logical and inevitable.
@d.ryzner7221

My bet would be only the brands that had a urathane ball that's why hammer because of the purples uncertainty and radical had the double strike other brands won't be as interested in the technology unless one of them tries using hk22 with it.
