We need 8BitDo to make a variant and nail the button tension/Dpad feel.

For the left back button, since remapping it to a right joycon face button is preferable, I tend to map the left back button to the capture button, then remap the capture button in the Switch controller profile to whatever right face button I want it to be. You lose capture capability from a button but I never use it anyway 😅

Sounds like a good idea.

The main thing ive wanted to see from a video comparing the nyxi and doyoky is the ergonomics while in handheld mode.

I did not know you could adjust the rumble. I noticed while playing Pokemon Violet that the rumble was insanely strong and just overall i could hear the rumble whenever it engaged.

I really like that the charging is done by the bridge of the controller. I have the one made by NYXI and whenever I have to charge it I get a little pissed off and If anyone sells just that part, I would buy it. I have a joycon grip that detaches and does this but it's far too wide for comfort as it's made for regular joycons. Ironically I got it for those original 2017/18 era GameCube style joycons because they have a curve and don't fit the regular joycon grip.

I’ve had mine for a week now, I think the d pad is excellent, but I have noticed the A button tries to activate a second time after being released not sure what that’s about but all and all I do love it. Had to swap the X and Y in the switch itself to get a more nature mapping while playing. All in all I really like it.

The bridge is color matched now.

Needs to calso come in a grey/platinum color...most people have wavebirds, so i'd be nice to have color matching controllers

NYxi and Binbok Doyoki is the same company using 2 brands with slightly different controllers using different button types / layouts

With their larger JoyCons, yes. Not with their GameCube JoyCons. They are entirely different. Look at my teardowns to see for yourself.

does the bridge allow you to connect wired? Hopefull it supports XInput I think it's called. I want to use Wingman Convert to use this controller on my Xbox cause this is the only controller that's actually big enough for adult hands

I bought these controllers for my switch and they revitalized my desire to play the console again. I had not played Switch much for a couple of years, but I love the feeling of these controllers so much that I now play it in handheld mostly (which I never did before - due to my dislike of the regular joycons). I just wished they came out years ago and not near the end of the console's lifespan.

May I suggest a review of the Mobopad, they seem pretty good.

Binbok’s quality has been mixed in my experience. I’ve had controllers that when updated to the latest firmware they offered some features just stopped working, the gyroscopes included tend to not be good and noticeably laggy (which sucks if you like single-handed gyro aiming, but wished the joy-cons had more girth), the d-pad can have some problems like not registering diagonal inputs all too well.

Ya Binbok's kinda weird, I've had their mainline joycons for years but I distinctly remember doing their newest firmware update(at the time) that basically completely broke them, so I had to redo with the previous one to get all functionality back. One major issue I had with the joycons was actually fixed with the firmware that worked, so it worked out in the end

So, with most of Nyxi's and Doyoky's products, they are made in one factory with different branding. The GameCube JoyCons are each their own thing, though. I did a teardown on each; they are for sure different. Doyoky's quality control on these GameCube JoyCons is fantastic.

Worst. Diagonals. Ever. I returned this unit immediately. Literally can't even jump on command in Street Fighter. Just the worst.

Did they stop making a color matching bridge piece? Mine came with one that is purple vs black. I wonder if they stopped producing them after the release of the all black game cube controller version.

You have the Nyxi, which originally colour matched. Doyoky didn't at first, now it does.

Yeah, the comparison is important. While they are different from OEM GameCube, I find that Doyoky is plenty close enough.

Should the cstick octagon be off center? It's not ...+× it's just slightly rotated to the left. It doesn't effect games or anything.

I need more colors' version of this!!!

I wish these remapable buttons would allow you to remap a combination of two buttons.

The nyxi wizard have macros instead of re-mapable buttons so you could do button sequence I believe. I prefer a re-mapable button myself

when Project Q is based on PSP and PSVita, does Project Q need to use Bluetooth?

Great video! I saw the comparison video from 128KB. I purchased both Doyoky and Nyxi. Unfortunately Nyxi’s ZR trigger stopped working after two weeks but ultimately I preferred Doyoky’s buttons and how much more comfortable the right joystick placement is. I do wish Doyoky had Hall effect like Nyxi though.

Doyoky is releasing Hall effect joysticks on their black model, with Hall on purple to follow.

I just want joycons with transparent purple shell, green A, red B, Yellow Right Stick, and grey everything else with a dpad.

Nyxi devs have never used an OEM GameCube controller, that's the only thing that makes sense. Doyoky devs did, and that's why theirs is much closer to OEM GameCube.

Absolutely! Attaches to every Switch except Switch Lite. As of September, 2023, anyway.

Which one is the better one? if there is 2? This one you said offers motion and a bunch of other features. Kinda sucks looking at other controllers are missing features like rumble. What gives. Actually looking for third party controllers with motion. Because the one i have is broken. It's been reported being like that. Wonder if it would be any better or a fix atleast. Just wanted to play HoTD really.

The real question is, does it have drift? Are they magnetic control sticks?

So many GameCube style controllers and no N64 style controllers. The official one is impossible to order in my country and it costs way too much to buy it from eBay and import it through scalpers.

I got a tracking number a couple days later, but it stayed in that shipped status for a couple of weeks until it finally said it was moving out of china, through customs, and so on. Dont expect any updates until about 3 weeks.

The question i always have with these videos that nobody ever touches on is do these controllers fit in a case for transport while still attached to the switch

Nyxi has a case that fits the switch with the gamecube style joycons. They won't fit in a normal case or the satisfye/skullnco style cases. It may fit in a hori split pad compatible case, but I don't have one to test with.

If you want GameCube controllers attached to the Switch rails, yes, yes they are.

I wouldn’t call those GameCube joy cons since they weren’t released by Nintendo maybe one day when Nintendo adds GameCube games to Nintendo Switch online there will be GameCube controllers you can use for your Nintendo switch online these are $70 you got

Yes. Better face buttons, better triggers, butter shoulder buttons, better quality control. Doyoky said that they are releasing it with Hall effect sticks this month, if you want to wait for that.

6:20 "The DPAD feels fine, and registers correctly..." Uhhh no, just hell no to that. It is AWFUL! It doesn't register diagonals, basically at all! I literally had to return it to Amazon immediately after I discovered that. This is literally only useful for menu navigation or a game like Tetris or something that doesn't need diagonals. Forget anything else gameplay wise.

Doyoky's GameCube JoyCons are fantastic. Their other larger JoyCons are made in the same factory as Nyxi's other larger JoyCons. Low quality control their. Nyxi has low quality control on their GameCube JoyCons, as shown by the many comments that detail issues. Hope they fix it!

Why is it so hard. Just fucking copy a gamecube Controller exactly. Make it exactly the same, cut it in half, make 2 joycons out of it. Profit. Only third party controller manufacturer that doesn't suck money balls is 8bitdo. The rest hasn't developed their skills, it's the same bad third party controller bullshit as it was in the 90s. Just copy what the original controllers do...

They are still working on finding themselves. Nyxi cashgrabbed hard with their janky GameCube JoyCon, but Doyoky actually tested their against real GameCube controllers, which I'm sure is why theirs is closer. I do wish they'd make a regular GameCube JoyCon as well.

If you like plataformer games this comment is for you: before considering buying this new Gamecube controller, youll find out that you wont be able to enjoy games because of the Gamecube ABXY button distribution. Nowadays games are made considering the standard ABXY controller. But, Gamecube X button is way too apart from the B button (run + jump). Thats horrible for any plataformer. Dont buy it... Thank me later

man! the gamecube controller is by far one of the ugliest and unconventional controllers you'll ever find. thing is, despite that, it was probably THE best one when it came to convenient button set up and comfortability. it's amazing just how great a controller it was, especially playing fighters. i keep waiting for when we get some gamecube joycons that get good remarks across the broad, but with what i'm working with now, i don't see any reason to get any further joycons.

It looks kinda dumb to me. Just get a pro controller. If you get a GameCube controller, get the officially released one. This controller just looks fake.

Binbok's larger JoyCons are the same as Nyxi's, and other brands. They are made in one factory, and companies pay the factory to put different branding on them. These GameCube JoyCons are entirely separate from that. Nyxi's pair is theirs, and Doyoky's pair is theirs. Nyxi has baaad quality control, and Doyoky has gooood quality control. Over a hundred hours in, no issues. I've seen dozens and dozens of stated issues in comments. Two or three in this comment section alone.

There's no physical grinding to create it, but quality potentiometers don't drift. Similarly, low quality magnet sensing Hall effect sticks will have issues. As long as they are quality, either is fine.
