Decided on this after testing out the new CRV hybrid and CX5. The former is quiet and roomy but the handling of the latter is outstanding. Can't wait to take delivery..

What is the average fuel consumption for this 2.5L High spec?

since you have the pre-facelift cx-5, it would have been good if you had compared the ride quality and cabin sound insulation since the suspension was revised and more sound insulation materials were added.

I get your point, but it would have attracted some criticism since it isn't exactly apple-to-apple, though it somewhat is. I try to keep it as fair as possible. But just to share, you would be hard done to tell any difference.

Hi Kesh, loved the review. For someone with a small family of 3, would this CX5 be better or the CX30? Honestly my main concern is ground clearance for flood. With a budget of around RM150K, my choices are between CX5 2.0 MID OR CX30 2.0 High. Appreciate your thoughts! Thanks

Hi there, thank you for your time. I would suggest going for the CX-5. I have a family fo 3 as well and even the CX-5 feels small after a while. So if the CX5 feels small, the CX30 is going to feel much smaller after some time. As the family grows, so will your requirement for more space (sitting and storage), try considering the new CRV. It's much better than before. All the best.

Is it fuel consumption for turbo is okay?

The turbo is a very thirsty SUV. If fuel consumption is a worry, the 2.5G High model is a better buy.

Yes.

The interior does show it ages. But performance wise and drivability, it's sublime! But for the price tags, many more selections out there though.

Yes that's true that there's lots of options, but when it comes down to handling and pure driving pleasure, the CX5 is unbeatable.

@@ashraffendy2010 - But the enthusiasts may like the straight six engine though. And the interior can put some European marques to shame. In fact, the CX-6O may just signal Mazdas arrival as a purveyor of finely crafted drivers machines. It is going to take a lot of time and a huge marketing budget, but there will always be Mazda fans who swear by them. Like me.

if it is no turbocharged it is not worth it is, too loud inside, and it moves too slow from the start, and it is too small inside... decided to buy KIA Sportage HEV and I love it!!!

This is wierd. Screen looks like from older version. It don't looks like that on this model.
