I'm glad to see that this machine uses enough water to actually get the clothes clean. A lot of front loaders only give a spoon full of water

Me too! This one does a really good job, i've seen quite a few that the clothes remain DRY in some areas until the very end of the wash! :P

Very nice set, Dylan. I used a front loading machine yesterday at the laundromat to wash my comforter and was extremely impressed by the wash action how clean it got. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Looking forward to seeing some videos.

@@warp36 In my experience, not at all. I had two SQ sets prior to this, both of the washers died within two years of their life. The first one (TR7) lasted about a year and a half before it started squeaking, going off balance, throwing endless errors, and after 5 months of attempted repairs under warranty, SQ finally condemned it and replaced it. I didn't want another TR7 so I sold it and the old dryer. The same thing happened to the TC5 right around the 1 year mark. Computer boards failed, went through endless issues. Luckily though they got the TC5 up and running, and then we sold those, then got these new Maytags.

Thats strange though, I've never heard that happen with other sq users. You could've got a better option than some cheap front loaders but its alright@@DylBuilder1

Laundry Tips: 1. Use Warm or Hot wash water. Use Cold rinse water. 2. Use the Extra Rinse Option/2nd Rinse Option. This setting makes laundry even cleaner and removes soap residue. 3. Add 1/2 cup (4 ounces) of baking soda directly into the tub along with your detergent before you load your laundry. The baking soda softens the water and deodorizes your laundry. 4. Add 1/2 cup (4 ounces) of white vinegar to the fabric softener dispenser or to the final rinse cycle. The white vinegar softens your laundry and dissolves soap residue. 5. Use wool dryer balls in your dryer. The wool dryer balls fluffs your laundry and reduces drying time.

These are all great tips! I already use a few of these things like the wool dryer balls, been using them for years and they work well, they eliminate static too! All the others are great things to do as well! :D I especially agree with the warm/hot water washes because they keep the machine fresh and clean, and attack some stains better. The washer will stay cleaner with warm/hot water overtime because it washes away the residue in the drum, and dissolves detergent faster. 👍 Thanks for the comment!

Howdy! Both are great machines, I was actually also considering the 585 for a while. For sure one of the best top loaders sold on the market today. Being that one is a top loader and one is a front loader, they operate quite differently. This 8630 Front loader is gentler on the clothes, uses less water and spins much faster so that clothes don't need as much time in the dryer, saving energy. You can fit larger items in the 8630 due to the 5.0 Cu Ft capacity over the 585's 3.5 Cu Ft capacity. The cycle times are longer on this machine, but when you consider how much more laundry you can fit into a single wash, using a fraction of the resources that the 585 does, it levels out. However the 585 Top Loader may be a better choice if you are always washing extremely dirty items. Although this machine is better at removing some stains/concentrating detergent, the 585's deep water level will more throughly remove and rinse away heavy mud and soil. The dual action agitator also turns over garments faster and forces them through the water for a more aggressive wash, useful for very stiff items such as thick jeans. Note that the 8630 Front Loader is 33" deep, and 53" deep when the door is open 90 degrees, so if you are in a tighter space that can't accommodate such large machines, the 8630 may not be for you. However you can purchase a stacking kit to stack the machines to save space that way. The 585 is much shallower at 26" deep, and it's a top loader so you don't have to worry about extra depth with the door open. Overall, both are fantastic machines. Although I like the 585, I myself would still be slightly inclined to purchase the 8630 Front loader, but that's my personal preference. If you do choose the 585, there is something you should know. The MVWP585GW0 is the version with the industry standard 1 year parts and labor warranty. if you purchase the model MVWP586GW0 You get the exact same machine but with a 5 year parts and labor warranty! Usually you can find the 586 at a specialized appliance dealer (Not a big box store some as Home Depot or Lowe's) or on the Maytag website: www.maytag.com/washers-and-dryers/washers/top-load-washers/p.commercial-grade-residential-agitator-washer-3.5-cu.-ft.mvwp586gw.html?
