Hi there everyone!
Today we are takinbg a look at the Watchdives WD5512. This is a Submariner Homage from the same factory as Steeldive.
As some of you would already know, I am a huge fan of the Steeldive SD1953. I think it's the best value submariner homage for it's ridiculously low price of around $100 USD. But...there is a contender for the crown..This challenger to the crown comes in the form of the WD5512 from Watchdives!
This watch has it all..200m water resistance, an AR coated sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, BGW9 lume & some of the finest case finishing you will ever see in a watch at this price point! While we are talking aboiut the price, in the Aliexpress anniversary sale starting on the 28th of March, I would expect that you can pick one up for around $100 USD or even less!
One last thing...the bracelet..it's good...very good in fact, tight tolerances make it very smooth and comfortable to wear. The bracelet has a nice taper down to a rather nicely finished milled clasp with the WatchDives logo engraved.
It's been on my wrist for the past week & OI can say for sure that it's probably going to be my daily driver for the foreseeable future.

I have the “1st generation” of this watch…got it delivered to my door for $108. Bought two…. One as a gift to my Dad. Love it. My daily beater for almost a year now…. Just ran a little fast and had that adjusted. Can’t beat it…. Especially for the money with the seiko nh35a movement in it.

Thank you for this great review. My grail watch so far is the Tactical Frog FXD Marine Nationale homage with date at 6 o'clock. Blue dial and blue bezel. That watch is a torch at night. Keep up the good work.

Спасибо за обзор этих удивительных часов. Раньше когда были только WD1680, они похожи на гибрид Steeldive SD1953 и модель SanMartin, от sn0017 у них браслет. А сейчас есть эта модель и еще другие, кварцевые с маленькими стрелками и оригинальные WD1967. Но эта модель классных часов. Они уже и корпус и безель и браслет и циферблат и стрелки очень схожи с San Martin sn0017. Так что если цена будет меньше, это хорошая альтернатива.Наверное это получается одно и тоже что и sn0017. У меня есть несколько San Martin и на мой взгляд это лучшее!

The case lugs may be a dash sharp at the edge but running my fingers over it now didn't notice anything too obscene

Disregarding price, I think the best AliExpress Sub homage is Cronos. It's practically a Submariner clone.
I ordered the blue variant after watching your review. Can't wait for it to arrive. I have the wd1680 milsub already. Any update on yours? Are you still wearing it? How's it holding up?

@@TheWatchChannelAU I got the watch 6 days ago. Hasn't left my wrist. It's definitely in whole other league than the previous wd1680. Bracelet is excellent, clasp is great, lume is great, the bezel action is amazing and the dial and entire watch finishing is superb. I'm contemplating selling all the other watches I own. Because this one is perfection for me. Oh and I got it on an early bird sale for only $53 USD 😊. Amazing value

Actually, some of us like to see actual humans with human faces talk about watches, much like Jody on JOMW, the dude from Long Island, or that Teddy fellow. Maybe find a different channel?
Why do we substitute "homarge watch" for rip off design/looky likey/fake watch??

@@TheWatchChannelAU If a "homarge" louis vuitton bag was labeled Bouis Buitton we would call it fake, so I don't understand why these rip off watches get legitimized on so many youtube channels...

@@darrenpage1517 take a look at many of the Swiss brands that "copy" each others styles.. They aren't chastised to the same extent as these homage brands do. At the end of the day, everyone has their opinions and that's what makes the world such a beautiful place, full of variety! Cheers

@@TheWatchChannelAU There is a difference between being influenced (even heavily influenced) and ripping off a design almost one to one. These so called "Homarge" business care not for the guys that work for them, intellectual property, you or anything other than making money for themselves. There are so many genuine designers out there making unique and influenced designs for a few hundred £$ that should be getting the exposure.

First let me say that I have absolutely no problem with these AliExpress look alike watches. I do understand your point of view though and the more correct term for these watches should be "clomage". They really are more of a copy than an homage. But again, as long as they aren't being sold as replicas, I have no problem with them.
