I just got my second one and it seems they've figured out the crown. More Sub than my Cronos and it doesn't have the unreliable PT5000, I've broken several. Thanks for the great review.

The hands on mine are perfect and the movement of the bezel is perfect, no back play and great feel, like a real Sub.

@@WristWatching They fixed nothing, their QC is very bad. On mine that I just got the bezel is very hard to turn when it comes to 6 o'clock. And the crown is very hard to unscrew and screw, plus it doesn't screw all the way in, I can still see half a mm. Even Pagani Design has the crown figured out, it screws like butter. But otherwise I can see quality to it, even the edges of the clasp are nicely rounded and polished. If they could up the QC on bezel and crown, it would be almost the same quality as a 500€ Clean factory replica. And it's a PITA to return it as I paid 72€ for customs and I will have to pay 11€ for return shipping, and they will only return me 197€ out of 280€. Last time I buy a 150€+ watch on AE, I thought I learned my lesson with two Octopus Kraken watches which were just as bad. Seestern S434 which is also on the way to me is my last hope to get a good 200-300€ AE watch.

How about the lume compared to the san martin and cronos sub?

I got their Top Chronometer watch on April 2023. Watch stopped working around November of the same year. Sent back to Sugess on December for warranty repair. Been following up on when I can get it back ever since. It's March now and all the response I got is "we'll keep you posted". Don't waste your money on this brand, it's not worth it.

Did your watch use SL-480 Peacock movement(Clone 4130 Daytona)? I plan to order it too, I heard this is a solid movement.

Great video. The stem was cut a little too short and that's why it actuated the date when unscrewing it. Yeah it sucks but you can order the stem for a few dollars. It's a little tricky to install it but that would probably fix all the issues

Thanks a lot! Yeah it was probably the stem length. I was hesitant to replace just the stem, because my movement accuracy starting going wild after a week or so. Thought there may be something else wrong with it besides just the stem.

I think the rehaut absolutely makes this watch. Such a cool minor detail, and it's enough for me to try a Sugess over the other homages.

Just bought the Sugess GMT Tudor homage. Can’t wait to get it. You should try to grab it for review. You were very unlucky with this one for sure. I have the same issue with the Serica homage. PT5000 movement just stopped working. Will probably replace it myself as can’t be arsed to return it

I have a seestern monster and it works perfectly. I also have the sugess moonphaser on the way and the seestern gs homage. I haven't heard of any issues with the movements just that at times bezel is light..

I haven’t had that specific SM model, but the Sugess is more accurate to a modern sub and it comes in significantly cheaper, especially during sales. I still think it’s the best modern sub homage out there.

I ordered another one. This is by far the best value. Your reviews are great. Such a great voice and accent.

I was watching this video wearing my Submariner 124060! So interesting to see everything the homage does right as well as the things it does wrong. The bracelet, clasp, and case dimensions are spot on. I have no doubt it's just as comfortable as a Submariner. Even the shape of the crown guards was nailed down. The bezel action sounds almost identical to a Submariner's (even if the Sugess has backplay). The finishing is just as good even if the dial has imperfections. I think the movement even ticks at the same frequency as a Submariner. Things the Submariner does better is the date window numerals, they're perfectly crisp and not porous. And, of course, you don't get the Rolex Oystersteel, in-house movement, and quality control. But the Sugess seriously looks the part, maybe 75% of the way there!

I bought a PD EXPLORER 2 HOMAGE. It looked and felt great. And it worked for four days then quit. They were good about a refund but it took a long time. Sad to say but no more Chinese watches for me. If you've had good luck with them then great, I'm glad it worked out for you.

The date on the NH35 movement doesn’t instantly change. It slowly changes across 4-5 hours.

Nice review. Bummer about the movement. That’s always a concern of mine when looking at a homage watch using a Seiko movement. I know the movement will be fine but less sure about the installation of that movement. Hopefully it’s not a QC problem. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

Thanks so much mate! I definitely got a lemon. A few people on Reddit mentioned they’re having the same issue with their ST2130 version. I’m guessing it was probably a bad batch of crowns that were cut too short by Sugess, affecting both their NH35 and ST2130 sub models.

Are the parts of the gen submariner compatible with sugess?

Don’t feel bad I had a SW200 crap out in a Invicta 9937. I’m partial to the Steeldive. I don’t think the other more expensive homages are “that” much better. Another point, who came up with the name? They should get whoever did a new job like making pizzas or something.

That’s a bummer, the SW200 is a solid movement. I guess we all get the ocasional lemon. I haven’t tried the Steeldive Sub, but I’ve heard great things about it.

@@WristWatching The part that is threaded broke away. I used to be a real watch snob. After seeing that I lost faith in the Swiss. Invicta just drops the movement in. Unless they are buying 2nd quality

@@akpistol141 I had a great experience with the SW200 on my Steinhart. Then again, their QC process and customer service is probably much better than Invicta. Not sure how Invicta is sourcing their movements though, definitely food for thought. Thanks for sharing your experience!

@@WristWatching Thanks, I just revived my cronos like a week ago, just wanted to hear your thoughts on it. my only conern/complaint is that the lugs are a bit too thick and chunky looking. Its a bit more exaggerated than the supercase

Why didn’t you contact Sugess? Their customer service dept is pretty good. And it’s hard to fault Sugess when it clearly is an issue with a seiko movement. You should look at the version of this watch with the seagull st2130 movement.

It was still under the free return period, so it was easier to go through that process while I still had buyer protection. Someone else mentioned to me that their ST2130 version had the same problem, so it’s probably an issue with the crown stem being cut too short. We could be the outliers though, I’ve generally heard great things about Sugess QC.

@@WristWatching I have the version with a nh35, and it’s been perfect. Stem is definitely not too short. Has a nice “pop” when you unscrew the crown to the first position. I have the st2130 version on the way and plan to do a comparison video.

I don’t dive, but I take my watches in the shower no problem. A pressure testing machine is expensive, and most commercial ones only test up to 60M of water resistance. Gary from ‘I Like Watches’ has one if you’re interested to check some of his videos out.

They should have made it without the date modification. Most people l talk to prefer a clean dial no date, like myself. All Submariner homage watches should be released in a non date first and foremost, date version secondary, as the original Rolex Submariner had no date.

Invicta hast the Vintage 1953 as a Homage top the early Rolex Submariner. Ist's a very beautyful Watch!

I hope they do a GMT. I have a Cronos, but it has the HG movement. Would love to see the new Miyota in one, but NH34 would be alright.

Bummer. I have one Chinese one (the Sugess moon phase panoramic date with small seconds) and two Russian ones (old Molnija manual winding movements in new but basic display-back cases). All of them run 100% fine, zero issues. Quality control is non existing though. So I get my local watch guy to give them a quick service which he often just does for free (I use him for all my other watch needs : waterproof seals and battery replacements etc etc).

i own the l6005 blue - absolutely beautiful color and matching bezel- but the case overhang the bezel at 2 and 4 o'clock and it makes the watch wear bigger, also the date magnification is not enough. I would like to try the sugess/ seestern, it surely wears better. besides that the dial of a cronos is a thing of beauty. I strongly advise that blue enamel dial. you can see what I mean on the ' back in time' vidéo about the l 6005 on the wrist shot around 8,30 mns ( case protrudes at 2 and 4)

Yes, returned it via Aliexpress and got a refund. It was within the 15-day free return period.

squale and steinhart are significantly better but you will pay between $500 to $1000.00

Check out listings that have the ‘Free Return’ feature near the shipping details on the app. Those qualify for these free returns within 15 days of receiving the product.

Sorry but I've had all the homages..and the Cronos isn't even close to the sugess..get it with the high beat ST2130 and it even has the perfect magnification of the date wheel.. only thing spoiling it is the name .but if you're grown up it's fine...bit like TRUMP in the UK means fart..not far off the truth!!!

It’s still not the real thing, it’s a POS. Do not waste your money.

I'm sorry, but I find it hilarious that a watch that looks almost identical to the original is called hommage. Near copy doesn't sound as nice. But even more hilarious is that folks actually expect these to last. You crack me up.
