No serious creator will use an ipad for their work. what you are thinking about is probably college work and some mere hobby. It won't even work in college for a computer science major(with an m4 chip lol).

It is incredible just how much Apple decentivized the iPad over the span of three years, and now with the new M4 iPad Pro it's even worse. Guts of a Mac, but doesn't come anywhere close to the level of functionality of a Mac, and is more expensive than a Mac. So, just buy a Mac. There is zero reason to buy an iPad Pro unless you're an artist since the thing now costs more than a 14 inch Macbook Pro with worse battery life. Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave with what Tim Cook's done to the iPad.

@@ASCENTxyz the Apple Pencil Pro could easily work on older iPads if they just shifted the magnets on it slightly. They did not do that because they need a selling point for the newer iPads because people are not buying iPads as much as they used to because there’s just no need to and because iPadOS is just so lackluster that if they are going to charge more for higher end iPads that cost more than Macbooks, value wise it’s better to just buy the Mac instead

Gaming, video editing, design work , music work(tune and decoding), watch content etc..and it lasts about 3-4 years without any performance drop. I think you don't know how to use it😂

@@tozi0808nailed it, I had iPad 3rd gen and it performance never dropped in 10 years and still worked like a tank!!! the battery started to degrade after 7-8 years and it was waaaay better than I expected, my friends got their stpid samsung tablets done and dusted in less than 6 months and had to change the battery entirely lmao 😂

M4 is kind of impressive considering it has around the same transistors as a 4070 Ti, (a 4070 Ti crushes that chip) but it should've been in a mac mini.

No it should've been put into a Macbook Air instead. M4 being 3nm and consuming a lot less power means a massive boost in battery life, so in a Macbook Air that could theoretically mean battery life of over 24 hours on a single charge (currently it's up to 18 hours on the MBA)

M4 use way less power and has the CPU part either (and if I'm not mistaken memory too), the thing is, considering how limited iPad are I don't understand why the battery life still sucks so much it probably could be way better if they downclock a little the Soc but they just want 1 day battery to put it on marketing (who is pretty bad)

Yeah m4 is both cpu and gpu so the transistor count for graphics isn't as much as 4070, besides Nvidia is gulping down so much watts...

@@adarion2994 the battery life sucks for two reasons: the first is Apple seems to think the up to 10 hours is enough. This is a far cry the battery life we used to have 10 years ago with iPads. The second reason is for some reason, they decided that this new iPad Pro should be impractically thin, so that means the battery has to be shrunk. The sole reason they skipped straight to M4 with the iPad Pro is because they needed a 3nm SoC that consumed a lot less power for that extremely thin iPad

I have an iPad M1 Pro and it's so over powered for the limited functionality Apple gives us. It needs a feature-complete desktop mode like Samsung DEX. Stage Manager is weak and cumbersome.

Great windows gaming PC specs 👌 With new iPad Pro M4 chip there's great power but there's no game or app that can even utilize 50% of chips power so it's probably a wasted performance & it's stage manager desktop mode is not as good as Samsung Dex so it won't utilise M4 power much Also mobile gaming sucks, it can't even stand a chance to PCMR gaming 🔥

Unlikely. iPadOS 18 is most likely gonna be just last year's iOS updates, as usual. It always gets sloppy seconds in terms of features and new functionality while iOS and macOS get all the good stuff.

Hell AI is even better suited on macOS since you're not confined to an App Store so you have more capabilities If you were actually working with generative AI, you ain't gonna use an iPad, you're gonna be using a Macbook Pro or a Mac Studio and have a lot of RAM, or an Nvidia workstation

The M4 chip cpu wise is only like four to eight percent faster than the M3, however it's AI performance is very good boost. It's not that useful on the ipad os, since that operating system sucks at doing professional tasks that require interfacing with the files app. Also, dealing with audio on the ipad is basically dongle city.

My iPhone 15 Pro Max runs fine. It's never been overheating (not even hot much either). It is not really thin either. That's not what I would call it at least. It's thicker than my old 8 Plus.
