The biggest problem for motorcyclists isn’t actually mentioned in this video! Does the X4 pause recording every half an hour for 30 seconds? This happens with the X3 and makes that camera far less powerful for KZread

Apart from the different lens view (normal vs 360) do you find the video quality better on the 360 over the GoPro if you're honest ? If you were to shoot using single lens mode would it look better and sharper than the normal GoPro footage ?

NO, not possible with 360. We have the X3, GoPro, Action 4, DJI drones. Everything DJI is better@@brianmagicman3556 Everything beyond 3 ft. from 360 lens is terrible. Notice the 360 images all look very bad except close up objects

5:50 Honestly... that's not even bad. I was expecting to hear 30ish minutes. A 71 minute recording length could be: Riding to and from the destination, and have 11 minutes of wiggle room and/or times to use it as a tripod for a fly-by Or it could be 20min to destination, 20min riding around destination, and 20min ride home. For the first example I'd be assuming you have a Insta360 One/One RS/Ace Pro to record footage while you're at the destination.

Good to mention that the app features are supported for earlier models, i used the ND filter on my X2 just yesterday

build in GPS would be tue best solution since all those GPS external devices suck! i got the gps remote. and i also have the newest apple watch. none of them work reliable. sometimes i get ready to fly and the bloody remote doesnt connect to the camera. standing there with all gear on and cant fly

Get Telemetry Overlay. It works with everything that records GPS including Insta360, GoPro, DJI. Since Garmin dropped Virb and GoPro discontinued including the GPS chip after Hero 11, we need to get the branded remotes with GPS. (In some cases I use telemetry (gpx file) from my Garmin Montana. The software allows muliple telemetry sources and syncs to video.) However, DJI Mavic series still includes GPS data in the SRT file. Price is $150 . A bargin for what the software can do. Constant upgrades. Juan responds quickly to even silly questions. Ride on.

why do you say the Ace Pro is better for 4k 60 than the X4? Can you explain?

I have owned the X2, the X3 with the much improved screen, and now the X4, there is definitely an improvement with the X4 when watching back the footage from reframed 8k over the reframed 5.7k of the X3. I’m not sponsored in any way and bought all cameras with my own money, There is no better camera for windsurfing videos as as tried most of them. Yes you have to be very careful with the lens and I have a metal cage on it and electrical tape my battery doors and use a safety leash just in case. Yes there are some negatives with this camera but the pros out ways what you simply can not get without 360 recording 🥳🥳

I still don't care about 60fps. 30fps is a look I like more. And if the speed of motion (off-bike) is slower then 24fps even works. But cropped (from a sphere) 5.7k doesn't even look as good as 1080p. That's been my issue with the "consumer-level" 360 cameras until now. The previous pro 8k 360 cameras were way too bulky and expensive to use as action cams.

Why isn’t anyone addressing the big question? Does it overheat? I hate sponsored reviews man

Didn't have a single issue with that. But 90% of my shots were riding which would obviously help with cooling.

that's nice having increased the resolution to 8k but only to max 30fps, which is not so good for moving video. I would much rather prefer 60fps. That's why i use a GoPro at 4k60fps or 5.3k60fps so I don't need to crop anything. Just point it in the right direction. Anyway I would much rather prefer a 180 degree 3D 5k camera to the 2D 360 camera. All the footage is much better in 3D VR. 2D is only good for mobile phones, not for 3D VR.

Why not using it at night?

I have a doubt. The gps overlay only works if you have a garmin or a apple watch? If i got a galaxy samsung watch i cant use the overlay? The camera by itself dont have this feature?

Not as good as Ace Pro in low light but greatly improved from X3. 8K is about 1.5GB per minute

great for daylight video but sucks for night time videos. Oh well.

All of the earlier insta360s have a 10 second gap in the footage every 30 minutes, making them useless if you want continuous footage like bike rides or concerts. Have they fixed this problem?

Good shout and also if you watch it again and pause the video at 4.16, the buildings in the background look clearer/more detailed on the x3 and also the body of the bike and the side mirror also looks clearer on the x3 and if you look at him in both shots, he looks more blurry on the x4, and that's WITH the lens guards on The question is, are those lens guards in that particular shot the plastic ones that come with the x4 or the premium ones made of glass? If it's the latter, that's very bad quality bit I can't say because I don't. Know which ones were used Overall the x4 quality beats the x3 regardless so any improvement is better than no improvement at all

did the X3 actually go down in price, or is the X4 just $100 more expensive?

This happens with guitar pedals too. I expect an embargo has expired. Are the lenses ambidextrous - front to back wise? The sticky kind weren't and if you ratf*cked one of them, you had to buy both. Snap on lenses make much more sense. I have the x3 and I just make videos for myself, no one views them. I just received the flexible mount from Chin Mounts, against many people's advice. We'll see if that falls off and ruins the camera then I have a reason get the new one.

4:12 I don't see a difference in detail on a 4k monitor

All of these issues that were improved for the X4 is getting my wallet finger itching to upgrade. It was extremely annoying on the X3 going between being on my bike and maybe a weekend trip walking around where I didn't need the covers and wanted to have zero glare. Trying to edit footage to mesh between 4k/60 pov shots to the 1080/30 was always a challenge, so the bump for 5.7k to 60 and availability of 8k/30 makes it easier to be consistent between two cameras.

Nice to have sponsors mate, but back in the real world, not everyone has 10 grand plus for a cam. Also difficult and very expensive to get for us poor South Africans. Going to have to stick to my trusty Hero 3 with it's dodgy battery... 😂😂😂😂

$100 less for the X3 could mean $100 more than the X3 so same price since that’s how Insta discounts their sales.

The grainy and muddy image quality is really horrible compared to DJI Action 4 and pocket 3....

4:20 no point shooting 60 FPS if you're uploading in 30.

ne minute recording over 1GB after edit it 100MB you cant let in your computer UN edit it there you need huge har disc your computer never gonna edit quick with insta360 software because cant use all your prosesor capacite 30 minutes 8K recording shuting down because of heating so not use summer... one lens schrach camera is useless unless you send them insta360 to hongkong x4 220 dollars x3 120 dollar cost a repair your garantie is useless for this you know why they send them with lensguard because you need it

00:54 - thanks for being honest! These are NOT action cameras - you WILL scratch the lens. The lens guards suck - the only way to use these cameras is to start a channel and get one sent for free. I dont know of ANY person who is spending $500 on this and then strapping it to a bike and not getting a scratched Lens - if you wanna piss away money good for you! I collect vinyl so I know how it is.

That's not how this works, not with cameras or with tvs/monitors. For instance, take 4 30" 4k tvs and mount them in a 2x2 grid and you would have a 60" 8k tv. Does that make more seems to you now? 8k isn't twice the resolution of 4k, it's actually twice both in height and width.

Be smart about these paid promotions about x4..they r everywhere..u dont need it, if u do,go buy an x3 for cheaper..that will do 90% of what this does.. dont fall for these paid promotions and impulse buying. That way, we have to buy every new product on internet.

Of course, it's better, but how much better is it for everyday use? No one needs more than 4k. It takes up too much space, and honestly, despite all the hype online, 2k is enough. Even 1080p is enough for most people. Where are you going to store all those 4k, 5k, 8k videos?

@@naemanmalik6107 the 8k resolution is for the full 360 view, when you reframe it will be 2.7k, on x3 the 5.7k 360 view will be 1080p after reframing

4K 8k no ones watching these footage on a big screen. 1080 is all you need. Just more gimmicks to buy the next thing every year. X5 X6 GP12 GP13 stick to what works for you and only buy when it’s an actual feature that’s useful. Example, when the DJI Pocket 3 comes out with a replaceable battery.

You missed one important feature , SOUND. Connecting the camera to bluetooth. Bad experience with this and X3, sounds crap with DJI Mic 2.

Insta 360 Should have put the 1 inch sensor and Pure Shot low light mode... X3 is all I need until X4 goes on Sale .....
