The New Ikeja Underbridge & Overpass Bridge Of The Lagos Redline Rail Project ( Walk Tour)

In this video, I will be walking around and showing the newly commissioned Ikeja Overpass bridge of the Lagos redline rail project. The Ikeja Overpass makes it the 4th bridge to be commissioned as part of the bridge project constructed for the Lagos redline rail project. Other bridges are Pen-cinema bridge in Agege, Yaba overpass bridge and the Oyingbo overpass bridge.
I will be walking on the bridge and I will also be showing other parts of Ikeja where the whole transformation got to such as parts of Obafemi Awolowo way to the Ikeja Under-bridge, Ikeja Along on the Lagos Abeokuta Expressway, some part of Simbiat Abiola road and Oba Akran road in computer Village as well.

My concern is what would become of all the empty spaces under the bridges. Lagos state can concession them to advert company and /orcar parking spaces under some kind of contracts. That way unauthorised street trading with miscreants hideout will be prevented

It will probably turn to parks for commercial buses or evening market for traders based on who we are. But I hope the spaces can be utilize properly.

@Iamgbolahan Here in Europe spaces like that are utilised efficiently to generate income for government. In Malaysia I have seen such spaces used as banks offices, pharmacy and open-air restaurant well organised for tourist. We need a governor with balls who wouldn't tolerate misbehaviours from citizens. Gbolahan, I went to Kigali and I marvel at the orderliness.

The video is somewhat confusing. It doesn't show how cars would come in contact with the rail lines if the bridge wasn't build. That would have been a great explanation.

If only it were that simple. You think the Okada motorbike taxis driving AGAINST traffic and the dude selling his ‘market’ on the overpass (same as the traders who trade on rail lines) don’t know the CORRECT things to do?! Unfortunately, we are who we are!!

Lagos can literally solve two major problems at one time: train a 10,000 person civil work force as sanitation and area workers (with some policing powers), with proper reporting oversight. Locate them in jurisdictions like train tracks and bridges to prevent people from aggregating, walking on bridges etc. That way you have a sane environment, while people have employment.

See those bikes passing one way. Lol and then people will roast Police for arresting them. We Nigerians are reckless and disobedient but then we'll put the blame on the government. Government this, government that. Is it the government that's asking a bike to pass one way? On an inter state express for that matter. Not to talk of the fact that it's a bridge

Lagos Light Rail Construction Project in Nigeria technically it’s been delayed because this will Not happen in the United States or any Advanced countries because the construction of Railway line doesn’t not take this amount of time. Houston Texas Light Railway construction does not take (5) years before completion. CCECC Needs more employees and more equipments to move faster but CCECC is trying to minimize their production cost because of profit marginalization. CCECC Should be FIRED and Hire another construction company from CHINA . CCECC is not the only Railway Construction Company in China . Thousands of Railway Company in China and India cheap Labor also, you can’t be waiting for CCECC. This is a FACT.

Only in Nigeria (and India lo) do you have to tell people that trainline is meant for trains and car bridge is meant for cars. Will government come and tell these vagrants this message every day? you really think they will follow sign? lol Forget government, Nigerians themselves need to get stuff together.
