Haha. Imagine someone getting this excited if eg BMW came out with an update of a model from 2012 which almost looks the same, with some updated interior and a yoke. Don't get me wrong, I like Tesla, this just seems a bit exaggerated.

Interior looks awesome and futuristic to me, fastest 0-60 of any car and 520 miles range, 10tf of gaming hardware so you can play the Witcher 3 at ultra on the 17" display, the car even has active noise cancelling against roadnoise, 4 fast wireless charge pads for phones, the potential for future self driving, massive charger network and ofcourse the original 2012 car also had rave reviews : p Not sure if its actually gonna ship with that steering wheel tho xD and the old interior did look a little dated.

I mean, coming from Vietnam, where the labor force is a lot, the currency exchange gap between Vietnamese dong and US dollars is a lot and the maintenance cost is not a lot, so I think Apple is doing a good move, and I think it's good for Vietnam as well so a win-win for both.

Tesla is setting a future where where cars are updated like phones: the overall designs don't change much, generation to generation but the details and innards are updated, maybe on a 3-5 year cycle. It makes sense for the mass migration to car leasing over buying outright. Volvo is already serving customers who "subscribe" to a vehicle.

It’s great having “futuristic” designs, but those so called yolk steering wheels are a nightmare to drive with - unless your going in a straight line or gentle turning curves. They’ve been tried before by other mid to high end car companies (going as far back as the seventies) and they never caught on because they just don’t work. There are very solid reasons why the steering wheels on a gazillion cars around the world are round.

They might be able to program the steer by-wire steering system to be able to do a full U-Turn without rotating the Wheel a full 360 degree or more. But as speed picks up it might change. Drifitng might not work though🤣

I live in Washington and we have starlink because we aren’t able to have WiFi we’re too far out of town. It works really well there are just certain times it can go out. At around 4:00pm ours goes out for one hour cause of the mountain that’s next to us. Other than that it works good just reboots at times to and can slow and disconnect you but it’s been awesome to be able to have WiFi again.

As I think about it, I’m figuring out that there's actually a clear pattern of someone wanting to change gears. Besides the obvious like obstacles where car assumes you don’t want to hit a solid thing , let’s take a case where you’re needing to do a lot of back and forth moves to park the car (or just really playing with your car, because why not... it's yours), the pattern is that when you hit the brake pedal to now go in reverse, you usually ( if not always) also spin the steering wheel in the opposite direction to get the car orientation you want , and if not perfect, you again hit the brake , and spin the steering wheel again in the opposite direction from your previous spin. So the deciding pattern is a brake follow by a change in the steering direction. Because I think if you brake and you don’t change the steering direction , I will keep your gear. And I’m also thinking to some other clues like starring / looking at the screen for the rear view camera , because we know Tesla has been training its AI to recognize where you’re gazing / looking. The latter will probably be used more for judging your attention when using autopilot , but surely can serve as an additional clue that you want to back up, considering that if you want to go forward after braking, well , you won’t be looking down on the screen after the brake. in one sentence: you stop, you turn the wheel in opposite direction / or look at the screen, you go in reverse, you stop , turn the wheel , and look forward, you go in drive... oups, that wasn't one sentence !
