This was the era when most people were happy and content

2 years ago I was mowing some fields and I was asked to come over and mow a yard that hadn't been mowed since her husband died. While mowing I came across her husbands tractor out in the weeds a 1953 ford tractor gas model 6 volt reverse polarity +ground. I inquired about the tractor and was told that I could try and start it. It took me 1day to replace the plugs, Points and condensor. I put my jumped cables on the ol boy and started him up. My new friend and her daughter were very happy to hear Dads tractor start and purr.

@@FRLN500 Because Henry and Edsel were active financiers of both sides of the war - they willingly merged Ford's European branches with the I.G. Farben chemical cartel and foreign banking infrastructure throughout the 20s and 30s. General Motors did the same, going so far as to help Germany produce Opel tanks and supply them with synthetic gas well into the 40s. See the late Antony Sutton's book, "Wall St. and the Rise of Hitler." That doesn't detract from Ford's legacy as a great inventor, industrialist, marketer, etc. But it does mean that Eisenhower's "Military-Industrial Complex" is a very real phenomenon and this caste of internationalists don't care about any given country.

Just purchased one about a month ago for $2500 I love it! It does what I need it to do around my smaller farm!

I have an original, never been touched. Family purchased it new.

My grandfather bought one of these new in '53. Last tractor before he passed away (before I was born). It's still in the family and running great despite that we quit farming in '84(?).

I grew up as kid with this tractor. We had 3 tractors two 8ns and the Jubilee 53. We called them the "little tractors and the big tractor". Nothing like getting to bush hog with the big tractor when your 12 years old.

I bought a 641 a few months ago, this video was a great help. They are so easy to maintain,parts are everywhere and affordable. 53 years old,not leaking a drop of anything and the 3 point works like new. This from a die hard JD owner of over 20 years. Now I need the remote cylinder setup.

I still drive our families Jubilee tractor and it runs like it's new. I believe it's a 1957 and since that time the engine was rebuilt once, as I remember in the mid 80s. Every function still works as if it was new. It's proof that they truly don't make things like they used too and that's a shame. It's an amazing piece of history for sure and you can tell price in workmanship was applied to it, which again is something we don't see a lot these days.

The jubilee is a one year only tractor so if yours is one then it’s a 1953

My father bought a '53 as a toy in his last years. He never did much with it and when he died my brother sold it to a club who restored it and used it as a fundraiser. I now live in the country and a neighbor inherited a Golden Jubilee from his father. I recognized it immediately. ..Watching the video my back was hurting watching the guy drive the tractor with that seat...

Had a 64 Ford 4000 which is about the HP of your 641. Sold it and bought a Mahindra of about the same size. I wish I were as smart as you about keeping my old Ford.

Our family farm had an 8N with a loader and a Jubilee along with two JD,two Farmalls. Traded the Jubilee for the 860, more power. That was first tractor I drove. It's amazing how simple, versatile they have been all these years.

Can't imagine a commercial for my tractor. I have had this beauty since 1992

I have a golden jubilee, got it from a neighbor that had it sitting for almost 40 yrs, put gas in it and a good battery and it started right up and I drove it home, has a loader bucket on it.. I also recently got a ford 651 workmaster..

Spent many hours on Grandpas 53 Golden Jubilee. Lots of mowing and lots of raking. In 53 he also purchased a new Alice WD45 that was the big tractor.

I have my grandfather 1953 or 54 golden jubilee converted it to 12 instead of 6 love my grandfather's old girl she does a good days work at any time I call on her

On our NH farm we had a similar model, the 1954 Allis-Chalmers CA. The CA had a similar hydraulic system that was very handy for many implements. That hand-clutch was extremely useful to keep the PTO engaged while stopping the forward motion. Also, you could mount idler wheels for a half-track to plow snow without spinning the wheels.

65 years later, and I use a '55 Red Tiger engine in a Ford 600 regularly, in real soil prep, and haul situations... Still runs strong . (close sibling to the NAA, probably 98% part interchange)

Ferguson tractors have the same 3 point hitch for plows and similar implements. Call it the Ferguson System.

My grandpa george Neff bought his new in 53. Used his alot. When our family had his sale it was stolen and never found.

The first tractor that my father had that I learned to operate. I can remember using a trip plow with it. It was all I could do to pull the trip mechanism.

I love my 1954 jubilee. 70 hrs since total rebuild.

My great Grandad had one. Looked just like a "red belly" Ford. But his was a "blue belly". Wish I had it today.

My Dad purchased one of these for his very first tractor. I was 3 years old. Thanks 🙏

Ford Did celebrate it's 50th with the Pickups too... 53 fords had a special hood emblem like the tractor.

Things run forever. Still lots of them out there.

Grew up on one of these. My ex brother in law still has it.

We had a 1953 Jubilee demonstrater. It was only made for the 1953 model year but some people seem to think it was made in other years but it wasnt.

Don't I wish I could buy one today ! I envy the folks who do own one of these now, take good care of them guys!

@@cyberrednec135 Looking at a 661 workmaster. looked up some info on it and it say's it has a live PTO, I have never owned a tractor and not sure what that actually means but I got a house with some land vs a house in an HOA =]. I only have 1.5 acres but a decently long gravel driveway, so really just would need a Gannon or a landplane. I live in the desert so not much mowing out here.

Never saw them used for much real farming where I grew up. The little fords from 9n up were common as dirt but only used as small chore/garden tractors around me. They were nice for raking hay and pulling hay wagons and fire wood trailers and such as long as you didn’t have any steep hills to go down with a load or tried to make any sudden stops because they were too small and light and the brakes on them were trash, only good for a couple hard stops before they gave up the ghost 😂

We bought a new 1954 NAA Jubilee similar to the 1953 Golden Jubilee. It would have been nice to have this video, back then.

I was employed by Ford at Basildon first as a test driver then on the test beds rolling road Chassis Dyno we called it good employers enjoyed it for some 30 years Gordon retired to Devonshire

It would be a long day loading coal with that little loader. Have you ever noticed they turn around in these films at the end of a row so fast. if you did that in real life all day you would be beat and so would your tractor. Smooth is fast, slower is faster.

I think you mean slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Saying "smooth is fast, slow is faster" suggests that the more slowly a thing is done, the faster it's accomplished, which is ludicrous.

I LOVE my ‘53 Jubilee and my Jubilee loves me.

Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten...

@@remco8170 Ford did not change the 8N 2N much between about 1938 and 1952 . Though the 52 is a 4 speed side Distributor instead of Man in the front.. valve rotators on the exhaust.. No Live PTO let alone live hydraulics.

I have a Ferguson TO-20 -- easy to mistake from a Ford at a distance. I rally love the squat design for working in hilly areas like mine. My next tractor will likely be a Ford though.

Have a 640. Use it all the time. Love it.

Great tractor. Only thing it lacked was power steering. They were next to impossible to steer with the loader attachment.

I run a 52 8n and a 54 jubilee. Wouldn't trade them for a new tractor any day.

Our family owned a farm in Michigan. We were pulling rocks out of a field. Our next door neighbor had just gotten back from the Korean Conflict. He owned a new Ford Jubilee. He drove his tractor over to pull out rocks. We'd hook the large rocks with a chain to the tractor. Never forget that new fangled gear shift. Great to see this video. Eaglegards... P.S. I got drafted in 1967 by LBJ, sent to Vietnam, and blown up.

Ok. I wish my dad had owned a jubilee ford for me to learn to operate it on. Instead, he bought two brand new super dexta diesels. I think 63 or 64 models. Biggest two pieces of crap I ever had to drive. It most of the time had to be pushed off on a hill to crank because it ate starters and batteries like a cow eating grass. You had to be careful toting an implement down the road , the lift would fall and drop and let it hit the ground for no reason . The brakes would wear out after working a couple 50 acre fields . If you got it started in the mornin, you better leave it running all day because you might not get it back started if you shut it off. The day they were delivered from the dealer brand new, one of them had to be jumped off to crank it. They were terrible .

They were a good tractor thanks to Harry Ferguson , he sued Ford and won for infringing his hydraulic system , he got either $ 4,000000 or £4,000000 i just forget now.

My dad had a 1953 golden jubilee I can only say it was one great machine it planted many crops for many years we also used it to gather corn in the fall for our hogs my dad would hook it to a trailer he made from a pickup truck bed we walked behind the trailer gathering the corn and throwing it into the trailer when we got it full we hauled it to the barn and scooped it into a small corn crib at the front of the barn I sure miss those days.

ford hydraulics?? Harry Ferguson had something to say about that.

These great old tractors are a dime a dozen today, if you want one, just go buy one!

I have one, and it still runs great! I brush hog with it and move snow in the winter time.

@@MrRiprip56 haha! Well I’m here in Ohio. Growing up my dad called it a brush hog. I always called it that. Interestingly the mower I have is a Razorback bush hog. I still need to sharpen the blades on it. Pretty soon it will be time to push snow. I have a three point attachment blade I use. Snow chains on the tires help a lot with traction.

I picked up an LCG from an auction at a golf course for 1100 bucks a couple of years ago. I built a loader for it, it's great for mowing and small stuff and fast as hell too! She ain't replacing my D21 or 220 FWA as my favorite though. And I will be looking for a 4W-305 this year! Or a 3588 if I can't find an AC.

had the next model 650 . loved it ! 5spd and originally with power steering . one doesnt think much of a simple -governor- but some PTO generator companies allowed THIS series gas engine to run because GOVERNOR was responsive enough to maintain 60hz . little tractor will PULL some kinda LOGS if use 3pt weight transfer properly .

I just purchased a 1954 Golden Jubilee with front end loader and rear blade. I plan to restore it and any helpful information would be greatly appreciated. It runs great but the rear hydraulic pump is slow and the cylinders and pump for the front end loader are leaking oil and will have to be rebuilt. I'm looking for resource material that will guide me in that process. Thanks, in advance, for any helpful advice.

The asterisk refers to most conditions,variations can be any from soil type,depth you want to plow at, rear tire size and properly added weight for ballast to increase traction as well as cutting width of each furrow that will require more or less load on tractor . proper adjustment of the plow also helps. the 1953 also had more hp than an 8n.

I was plowing in unbroken ground and it was clay. I guess if you had broken ground from previous years and it was soft dirt ,,like sand you could pull a 3 bottom? Maybe?

Had the n series tractors had a creeper gear, they could have pulled much more, it's all in the gearing.

Worked a blue jubilee with a 3 cyl perkins diesel for years as a kid on ana 200 acre apple orchard. Chug, chug, chug.......

and went to a Blue color to get away from the Farmall Red. love these old ads.

The features on that tractor must have revolutionized farming during the 1950's, and 1960's with items we still use today.

How much PS had that tractor? I have an oldy as well and believe it's from the 70's. It's an For 3600 and has as I have understood 55 PS. We recentply overhauled the Motor completely and it's allmost as new now. Hydraulik does not work but we use it for fodder carrying on an farm for the cows were we dont Need the hydraulics. At least Motor is as new and clutch as well. Doesnt break anymore but thats not needed neighter. This Ford 3600 has an fixed shovel/Scoop on it's 3-arm-point were it carries the fodder and Silage around once a day. It uses very less fuel (about 30 Liters per month) as I Need to fill the fuel tank only once a month. Looses some oil (rear hydraulic oil compartment or gearbox) underneath but have an eye on it it's not worth the Investment to fix it as now. The Motor has been opened the first time as we let it repair a few months ago (but thats only because some latino workers probably did not wathch the Motor oil Level) so it Held up about 30 years without ever overhauling the Motor. The Chassis is a bit rusty and used but back then they used real rust retardant metal.

these things were built when tractors were tractors,not tonka toys. i absolutley HATE the new equipment!

I prefer the 850 myself but the Jubilee is a good tractor it has decent power more then the 8n before it and live engine hydraulics Wich are much better then the PTO driven system before it and it's so good this is the system that's still used today

Funny how Ford celebrated its 50th anniversary with a tractor not a car, now they have nothing to do with ag machinery

Moi Williams After 1996 Ford turned over all ag and tractor production to NH. Ford held control over its patents until 2000. After that it was all NH which is now owned by Fiat

My dad and I have one of these I started driving it when I was 7yrs old, he had it at the ford dealer 3 or 4 times to get the 3 point fixed because it wouldn't lift after I brought it over to where I live I had that fixed in 1 hour, my dad had the engine overhauled because he thought it was using oil but he missed the fact it was overfilling the transmission what I found was the two seals that seal the pump from engine crankcase were worn out so the pump sucked up the engine oil enough to lube the pump to keep it from seizing up. Since I fixed it the engine doesn't use oil and the three point works perfect every time.

At 15:47 the front loader guard rams the back of the trailer. Should have fitted a counter weight.

Never in my life could I ever hook up a plow like this guy..you would have to be within a quarter of an inch on both of the arms.
