    Interestingly ive had similar experiences where you run really well off seemingly terrible prep. Its due largely to stress hormones including adrenaline. Essentially you're "high". Guaranteed you crash later and it cant be sustained but its not unusual at all. Also.....wiiiiinnnnd.....

    Sleep deprivation puts your body into fight of flight mode through a brief spike in the production of noradrenaline which could have just been what the Frenchman needed to push himself further than before...a sort of neuropsychological hack but abuse of this technique results in an increase in a release of glucocorticoids which can be neurotoxic 5:02

    At 2:05 you say "which may or may not be the first time that this has ever happened". It's not "it may or may not be", in this case it just isn't true, as multiple athletes have done this in history with the most recent being Van Niekerk in 2017. Why even state that it may or may not be true when it's so easy to know for certain? It took me about 45 seconds on World Athletics' page to find out that this isn't the first time.

    Infallible beings of pure perfection like yourself could never not be perfect even if you tried. You "may or may not be" able to understand what "may or may not be" means and I understand you may or may not have seen the inside of a school after you turned 8.

  • @Elliottklassen

    @Elliottklassen

    Ай бұрын

    @@BrolandMeeces I never claimed to be perfect. Of course people make mistakes. In this case however, "may or may not" translates essentially to "I didn't actually check, but maybe it could be the case", which simply feels lazy. Also a funny coincidence with the school comment since I am a teacher. (Majored in math and stats, which is probably why I prefer to see stats used properly). In this case I commented on the video because usually TRP does fairly well with his analysis and stats, but this case just felt like a moment of laziness, and if you're going to cite statistics you should probably actually check to see if they're true. I do apologize if my original comment came off overly critical or snarky. I don't want to contribute to hostile online environments. Anyways, I hope this comment isn't interpreted as aggression; I don't intend to make enemies online, so truly, I hope you have a good day.

    France has done just fine in the sprints though. Just 2 Olympics ago they literally had the 200m bronze medallist, and only a couple of years ago the European 100m record. I'm not at all confident that Mateo is going to be a threat globally, but I think it is absolutely ridiculous and borderline disrespectful to just assert PEDs for an athlete the first time you've ever heard of them with no evidence. It isn't even remotely uncommon for a collegiate athlete to run big PBs early in the year. Certainly not evidence to immediately begin degrading his integrity and character.
