Congratulations. You are definitely winning. Thanks for mentioning me. Your method is definitely working, and I am sure more people will follow it. I can say that is really simple and give us a lot of time to focus on our family. I still have 2 more races in the coming. Hopefully, my birds will perform well. Greetings

Hello, I am also a fan of long-distance competitions in Europe, I apply the same 7-day rest method after each stage of over 550 miles. The feeding method, on the other hand, surprises me, anyway between two long-distance stages I train the pigeons, so the feeding must differ, exactly as you mentioned. However, it is difficult for us to have such an advance in competitions among the first arrivals, we have between 10,000 and 25,000 pigeons at each stage. Congratulations for the results and for the method of preparation, feeding and competition.

You will certainly need to feed differently from me if you exercise more. I have had great luck with proper feeding combined with rest. Wish I could compete against the numbers you have.

@@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons We had many winners including all the kids who manned the operations. I remember loading the racers and going on road trips to train the birds. It was a sight to behold when releasing all the birds and they would beat us home. We were the only kids who were dropped off at school with a trailer of pigeons and it surely was a scene that many fellow students were surprised at, to say the least. Great memories of the banter of all the pigeon fanciers at the clubs. I remember all the trophies my father had won.
Congratulations and I really like this style of video, letting us know how the great Frank McLaughlin awaits his birds arrival. This week we had our 300 mile race and I sent 5 of my celibate hens on your system. Turns out one of my hens was on the winning drop at another guys loft😂. She dropped with one of his cock birds and apparently they pruned eachother, kissed and mated on his loft before the cock bird finally dropped into his home loft. Then the fancier chased my hen off and I got her a little while after. I could’ve gotten 1st or 2nd if she broke from this cock bird but I guess she was in love😂. Looks like I’ll get 10th position in the club which I am still very proud of. Thanks Frank the system came through for me finally!

Good evening Mr mclaughlin at what age young birds start body molt and how long it lasts and the best tonic to help them through the molt also when will they start flight molt.
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
Жыл бұрын
Are asking about how they molt naturally without using any system?. On natural light they will drop the first flight about 6 weeks old but this can vary and be later. As long as you are giving them a good grain mix with close to 16% protein and plenty of grits and minerals they will have a beautiful molt. You can give a vitamin and electrolytes in the water a couple times a week but this is not really needed for a good molt.

@@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons I wanted to find out at what age do the young birds molt naturally.
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons

They will start the molt naturally around 6 weeks old.
Frank, do you keep the minerals you use in front of your team 24-7-365 days a year or take them away before the race? I have seen others suggest that they should be taken away the day of basketing or the day before basketing, on the grounds that the salt content could dehydrate them out. Also it would seem to me that any mineral and grit consumed during this period could add weight, however negligible that might be. Or am I over thinking something again? Thoughts?
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
Жыл бұрын
Hi Kerby, I never pull grit or minerals from the race team. I also never add fresh grit or minerals after say Tuesday or Wednesday during the race season. I only give Jovati or the mixed mineral grits the day of return from the race. My pigeons have free choice with all the mineral cups and usually eat most of the minerals a week before the race. Good policy is to never add fresh grits or minerals a few days before shipping.
@kerbyjackson88
Жыл бұрын
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons So do they essentially "run out" as needed verses actually pulling them?
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
Жыл бұрын
There are always plenty of grits and minerals in front of the race team. It is free choice. I just do not add fresh minerals during the week. The cups are full and all perfectly dry and high quality. If you add fresh stuff they tend to eat more of it. I never give the mixed minerals like Jovati or All in One after day of return . They add all kinds of treat seeds and the birds get minerals they do not need.

@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons Thanks. Where do you get the Jovarti? Any opinion on what the English dub "Black Mineral"? There seems to actually be a wide variety in use in the UK, but the major components of what JEDDS imports seems to be charcoal, iodized salt, magnesium and manganese. The English seem to have considerable theories on the value of these so-called "black minerals", but appear to widely agree on their breeders having them when squabs are about eight days old.
