No other game developers would be so down to earth to call it "the new camp" instead of some cool fantasy name. That is what people would call it if it was a real place. Then again I don't play many other games lol.

This game is such a legend. Still alive after so many years just proving that it's timeless. Modern games rarely have such an atmosphere which stays with the player forever. Great video btw!

Was fully expecting this to be a horrible video with a way-too-strong Polish accent and painfully mediocre editing. Congratulations! It's not. Well done, I enjoy it, you clearly made effort. Awesome narration as well!

The “cauldron” is a mistranslation. “Kessel” is also the German word for a basin, a deep, circular valley, formed by glaciers.

Yep I took it as a literal translation, didn't play with the english voice over at that time. It's the Hollow.

Gomez did not know about death of the mages of fire

Could you elaborate? I'm pretty sure that Gomez ordered their execution or even killed them himself because they wanted to prevent the raid on the free mine since they knew it would mean an open war inside of the colony.

@@vertigo7082 you're right. I'm just playing the game, and Gomez did order to kill the mages.

I'm pretty sure all the ancient structures in the valley of minds were build by the Lizardmen. We don't see any in Gothic 1, but they are all over the place in Gothic 2. My guess is that the lizardmen originally inhabited the valley and were kicked out by humans or possibly orcs. Then when the dragons claimed the valley, the lizardmen returned.

Interesting theory, but the architecture is just so much different if you compare if to the existing Orc dwellings.
