@@hirotoko Well the idea behind the channel is to bring people from all different Gothic-Communites together by speaking english. It's this one step I can do as a non native english speaker. But yeah maybe in 10 years I can speak a little polish :D

I don`t know how it works but giving the videos subtitles/links mentioning Gothic in English, German, Polish and Russian might be a good idea.@@vertigo7082

20:45 So, in early stages of development, Gothic 2 was planned to feature a (small) region in the south of the Valley of Mines. No one knows how it would have looked like, why it was cut etc. but that explains why the "South" was mentioned that way. As for 11:09 , actually Lord Hagen never gave that allowance, the hero just took it and didn't give any fuck. 😂 As for the dragon hunter armors, I like to imagine Bennet used some replacement material, like Wyvern scales instead of dragon scales.

That is mighty interesting. Where did you get this information about the cut content in the south?

@@vertigo7082That's the thing I've been trying to figure out ... I believe I've seen it either in the Gothic Archive (there is a (hidden) section for Gothic 2) or one of Flatzcher's cut content videos but since I forgot where exactly this information came from, I asked around on some Gothic discord servers and other people know about it too. This knowledge is the reason why the map for a forum RPG also entailed that part of the map called "Drakia" and even Returning mentioned it. Though the name "Drakia" is just made up.

As much as i love Lee's guys from a lore and story standpoint (they are old friends, so it makes sense for the hero to join them. Also i really like the atmosphere on the farm and among the mercenaries)... the medium and heavy dragon hunter armors are so damn ugly in my personal opinion. They are what an edgy teenager would consider "cool" and "badass" (i know i did when i was an edgy teenager), but those things are just incredibly overdesigned with far too much stuff sticking out of them. I often play the militia/paladin route just for aesthetic reasons alone. 😀

I kinda like it. Some people would throw a stone at me, but I think it kinda looks like a pimped Samurai-armor, which is interesting. The fact that it is a remnant from the cancelled Gothic Sequel and it was worn by Demon Hunters, makes it even better.

@@vertigo7082Perfectly valid. Taste is subjective after all. I like the parts that are inspired by samurai armor. Just get rid of the shoulder plates, the arm claws and that stuff and the design would work for me.

Oh yea expanding the playable world would be very cool but id want it as dlc or between gothic 1 and 2 games. Too many games get ruined by having a too big world that feels empty. I want them to concentrate on making a good remake capturing what gothic 1 was like before starting to try and expand too much

What is your opinion about Archolos Mod? If you didn't get to check you it out you definetly should I got unto a Point where I wish this mod's story should be canon. Most of The People I've talked with say that Archolos is The gothic 3 we deserve. Damn, even The soundtrack is impressive.

Archolos is hands down the best modification for Gothic. It really captures the spirit of the originals but I think some characteristic themes are not present in the game. However I love their take on the matter: Archolos changes the perspective, it shows you the political side of Gothic and that is interesting as well.

Man, you should not call everything as studded leather. I know its fantasy based cliche, but look at contemporary HMB fighters or actual historical sources. Europeans, beeing clever lot, used metal plates or atrips, covered over the top by leather or cloth, and fixated by rivets. This does not extend only to torso like in case of brigandine armour, but legs and arms of this sort existed too. Its basicaly plate armour. Only a bit heavier. And I assure you, that leather armour is in fact far heavier than full plate! Yes... I know people tend to fall in to this missconception from fantasy, but its in fact the opposite. You also used "studed" in case of Templrs of Swamp camp. Like in case of Cor Angara armour. Here I also disagree. I see it more as a greek Linothorax, rienforced by metal desks or Lamellas! Go check it. It will help you to think more about armours than just Studded armour.

I am by all means an expert on historical warfare or armor, so I am sorry for every misconception! I am glad that there is experts like you who can correct me in these cases. For the heavy Templar armor: It's very hard to see if there are plates underneath the "leathery" surface. I called the surcoat a "battle skirt" which is not really too wrong, but at one point I also wanted to compare it to the Pteruges, which I felt wasn't really appropriate too. For the Dragonhunter helmet I really struggled to compare it to real life helmets and a bascinet was the closest thing that came to mind.

@@vertigo7082 Well Im no expert, but I do fencing and reenactment for 17 years now and I have degree from history, so Im at least not completely out of touch, but... The Drachenjäger helmet looks like a hybrid of messed up Viking Gjermundbu helmet, based on those "googles" as a visor and a Samurai Kabuto helmet. Especialy with that lamellar neck guard. The heavy Templar armour looks like a mixture of Avar or Sarmatian steppe lamellar Armour, that skirt looks like lamellar "schurtzen" from mongolian lamellar armour. Shoulders also, where as Torso is much closer to Linothorax type of armour, or that Byzantine "desk lamellar" armour we have depicted. The low resolution of Gothic 1-2 Graphics enables you to dream and imagine and depict armour in your head based on your fantasy :-D . The paladin helmet looks like messed up small bascinet.
