I wished Sony would have made a handheld after the Vita. They kinda shot themselves in the foot with not staying with handheld. I doubt Sony will be innovative, I have more faith in Nintendo these days. Honestly I'd just get handheld like ASUS Rog or something similar. I miss the golden Era of Sony PSP was goated. I still have 3.

@@Joseph_Myers Sony and Microsoft are missing out on the handheld race all Sony has to do is make a portable PS4 Pro/PS5 and put it into a Playstation Portal shell and port games over to it and it would sell like crazy especially in Japan where home console sales are on the decline. Miss the old Sony with the PSP. The Vita was good but the PSP was a beast of handheld. I definitely want the Steam Deck OLED and the upcoming Ampere graphics based Switch Attach.

@@chriswright8074 Do you actually use a web browser on a games console? Didn't think there were many people who want or care about having a browser on their console. I'd have thought most people use their PC, laptop, or on the go; smartphone. Can't really think of a reason why I'd prefer to use a console over another, much better suited device. Also Nintendo hate fun? Thought that was their entire niche nowadays. They definitely have lagged behind when it comes to hardware power, ever since the GameCube.

I'm actually excited about this, since I do feel the current one is too big and uncomfortable. I would really like a retroid flip version of this. They are the same company, do it Retroid. 1:58 if I'm reading that image correctly it looks like the back is CLIPPED on, and like the battery is easily replaceable. IF I'm reading that render correctly since second "SLICE" from the left looks like it has retention clip holes, and the battery is well segregated from the fan, meaning some interesting mods could be had here. Which is quite intriguing indeed, since again in that view, looks like there's a "tab" on the battery side of that layer.

The stock sticks are technically smaller than switch sticks. Both height and diameter. Height is a small difference but diameter is pretty significant. The main difference and the reason that people like them so much is due to the low tension and smoothness. Personally comparing stock to stock i prefer switch sticks because the tension is built to favor cardinal directions. So it makes it a little bit easier to get them. But it is a negetive for aiming if you have to aim up and down a lot. And the stock odin sticks are too small for my taste its just hard to use with the size and lack of grip. But good news is both hall effect versions have removable tops that let you extend them wil 3rd party replacements such as Axees on etsy. Giving you the height and size of different stick types. Highly reccomend getting the switch sized ones for odin 2, keeps the dticks compact but gives them a little more travel and makes them compatible with switch thumb grips for a much better experience. They also have full sized sticks that have more travel and fit xbox/playstation sized thumb grips if thats what you want. They are pretty cheap just gotta be a little carful with them as they are 3d printed and fragile(broken 2 on odin2, none on switch).

Its best to look at odin or the pocket s instead, both will have a better screen(and the pocket s is about the same footprint but is substantially thinner). MiniLed is trash for smaller screens even tablets suffer from bad blooming and low response times and very high prices. The tech is best on tvs where even cheaper low density panels look great and high density panels even competing with oled outside of super dark environments. If you plan on playing in direct sunlight then itll be a safe bet but could have dimming problems if heat isnt very well regulated. Pimax portal initially marketed their Qled variant 5.5in 4k panel as a miniled, but the blooming and vinette effect was so bad they disabled the local dimming in a patch.

*AYN* *Odin* *2* *Mini* Being a big fan of the PS Vita design specifically the 2000 models which tends to be the least popular of the two models, this looks very interesting! It’s $329 for the base model. It’s only 320 g, but it only has a 5000 mAh battery compared to the bigger model with 8000. That’s a 37.5% reduction in battery capacity while the display is an inch smaller. I would consider the Odin 2 Mini if it were only priced at $250 or the same price I got my used 512 GB LCDeck, but it’s most likely a pass. I’ve said it before, I want to play NEWER games. Not retro games from 20 years ago. Android lacks an original Xbox emulator. And Wii emulation would probably be bad since this O2M would lack a touchpad to emulate the pointer. ____ *Random* *Nintendo* *Talk* So I was watching RGT 85 yesterday talk about how Nintendo added some Game Boy games and Shawn ended up trashing Super Mario Sunshine. 🤣 I enjoyed that while some commenters were hurt by it. Shawn Long is how old? Born in 85, so he turns 39 on July 4. He wasn’t a kid when he played Sunshine by 2002-2003. I personally can’t stand Super Mario Sunshine. I thought F.L.U.D.D. made the gameplay clunky and I hated walking on tightropes. It didn’t flow like a typical Super Mario game would. I did beat the final boss. My little siblings who were ages 7 and 9 beat most of the game for me. So when they went to school, I decided to beat it and showed it to them. I still can’t stand that game. If a Super Mario doesn’t grab my attention those first few levels like the OG, 2, 3, and World, I’ll pass. Most people who are praising Sunshine are probably in their 20s to early 30s and GameCube was their first console. It’s similar to the 90s babies praising the Star Wars Prequels and calling Hayden perfect as Anakin. Their childhood nostalgia revises history to others who don’t remember those movies or that game as fondly as those kids who grew up on them 20 years ago. The Wii era corrected the failure of GameCube’s flagship Super Mario game as Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 plays so much better than Sunshine. So Nintendo added Super Mario Land and a few other Game Boy games on Nintendo Online. Big whoop! I can play Game Boy games on a modded PSP and Vita. If you have an iPhone, download the Delta emulator, download ROMs from Vimm’s Liar or wherever, and there ya go. You don’t need to be online first to play them. I have Nintendo Online strictly for cloud saves and don’t bother with their retro games because I can play all of them on several other devices than a Switch. While I grew up first on Nintendo like most gamers, I wouldn’t go far to say that Nintendo has been my favorite gaming company. There are certain things I hate that they did and that they still do. Nintendo being a toy maker prior to getting into video games, they do rely on gimmicks. It’s from the late Gunpei Yokoi who created the Game & Watch, Game Boy, and unfortunately the Virtual Boy who we should be thankful to for having handhelds we have today. He was originally a toy maker. I’m actually NOT all that excited for a Switch 2 or whatever they will call it. BTW, they might have to change the name. The 3DS sold far less than the DS. The Wii U sold far less than the Wii. Why am I lukewarm about a Switch 2? Well, look at the PlayStation 5. How different is that from the PlayStation 4? More graphical power doesn’t mean better experiences. Honestly, I’m really not the biggest fan for many of Nintendo’s IP except for Super Mario and Mario Kart. And I’m a little more lukewarm with the 3D Mario platformer. I never really loved Super Mario 64 when I played it. Being more of a PlayStation fanboy by 1996, I would take OG Final Fantasy VII every time over Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. I like the story and characters way more in FF7. I really don’t care about Zelda, Pokémon, Metroid, Kirby, Smash Bros., Paper Mario, Splatoon, etc. I’m more interested in the IPs that Sony has. My Switch Lite is mostly used for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and maybe replaying the base game of Super Mario 3D World as I’m not a fan of the 3D Mario gameplay from Bowser’s Fury. I have Super Mario Odyssey and rarely play it. I grew up on 2D Mario. I prefer Mario and Sonic in 2D. Super Mario World and Sonic 2 are still games I will play to this day. Besides, even if the Switch 2 is released next year, I probably would need to wait another 2+ years for a Lite version. That’s the one I prefer. The cheapest, smallest, and lightest version possible. I prefer to have a real d-pad/Nintendo’s patented cross pad. I play 2D platformers like Oddmar, and I don’t want to move the character with an analog stick. Too bad the Switch Lite’s d-pad kinda sucks. By the time the Switch 2 is released in 2025 and perhaps a Lite version by late 2027 like the first Lite was released in 2019, Switch 2’s hardware could already be outdated. If Switch 2 is only as powerful as the Steam Deck which already has it’s hardware limitations if compared to the ROG Ally and Legion Go with the Z1 Extreme, imagine how outdated Switch 2 will be already 3 years after the Deck was released? ____ *Valve* *Is* *American* 🇺🇸 I grew up on mostly video games created by the Japanese 🇯🇵 from the late 80s until the early 00s. Nintendo pretty much raised most of us as kids. Then we had other Japanese developers like Sega (founded by an American), Namco, Capcom, Konami, Squaresoft (before their merger with Enix). Who knew an American company like Valve would bring someone like me back into gaming? I owned an Atari Jaguar and it sucked. Only had like 50 games for it. I still have fondness for it but it does remain the worst console I’ve ever owned. I owned an original Xbox but always found the library to be bleh. Tried getting into Halo and never finished it after playing it for 5 hours. I thought the Westernized game developers ruined the industry but now I’m thinking PC games could save the industry thanks to the PC handhelds. Video games were invented by Americans. Ralph Baer who is credited as the inventor to video games was an American with German/Jewish descent. Allan Alcorn who created Pong is an American. Atari co-founder, Nolan Bushnell, is American. Steve Wozniak who created the Apple II is American. Atari and Microsoft are both American. It’s coming to full circle that another American like Valve (who caters to PC gamers) is saving the industry. Thanks, Gabe. *Godzilla* *or* *Kong?* A few days ago, I finally downloaded Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Godzilla Minus One for one of my phones. I saw them both in the theater and saw GxK twice in it. Two very contrasting films with Godzilla. NGL, I think I’m now on Team Kong for life. King Kong was created by a British man but it’s generally considered an American production. Godzilla is a copy of Kong because Kong was very popular in Japan. Godzilla is cooler. Has more interesting designs. Better to collect toys for him. But I’m on Kong’s side. He’s the more interesting character. He’s a character you could befriend. Godzilla could massacre Kong, but for me, it’s not about who wins their fights. It’s the quality inside that character. Godzilla is this big bad monster who fights and then he sleeps. Not exactly the one with a lot of character development. I do love them both but I’m more on Kong’s side. And many Godzilla movies from the Showa to Heisei eras are a hard watch for me. So many times I tried watching Godzilla vs. Biollante before falling asleep and I own a 3.5” figure from that 1989 movie. The only Toho Godzilla movies I like are the OG from ‘54 and Minus One. Not trying to sound like Godzilla hater, Doktor Skipper, but it’s easier for me to digest Kong movies made by Americans. I bring up Godzilla 🇯🇵 and Kong 🇺🇸 because while I used to bash American game developers, I think they’re winning me back. The only Godzilla movies I enjoy is MonsterVerse and it’s nowhere perfect with mostly forgettable human characters. But they’re easier to sit through than watching Godzilla movies with rubber suits from the 60s through 00s with human characters talking 80% of the time. Valve has already replaced both Microsoft and Sony when it comes to gaming. All that Japanese anime stuff was cool to me when I was in my teens but it doesn’t appeal to me in my 40s. Linus recently said in his video about the Steam Deck that he’s more of a ROG Ally fan. That’s cool. I’m all about the Steam Deck. Great price, great online community support, great customer support from Valve. It has everything I need except current Nintendo flagships, hence, why I’ll get a Switch 2. If the Steam Deck isn’t the greatest gaming device, it’s the greatest gaming product from an American company. I’ll take this over any Atari or Microsoft console. God bless, America! 🇺🇸 It’s a presidential election year. It’s time to be proud to be an American.

I get burn in issues with oled displays all the time, that's why I prefer to have a mini led display so there will be no more oled burn in issues. Just like everything else that looks decent, it's all about the price Umm, one thing though, consumer Mini-LED is a backlighting technology, not a panel type, is likely still an IPS... the micro-led will be the new display type, but we don't really have that yet, they do some industrial installations with rgb mini-led acting as the actual display, but ya gotta be a ways away to not see the individual lights.

Well, they have to justify pricing somehow. Overall it looks very good. I think it is very slightly overpriced, but then again I might be willing to pay the extra considering it's smaller form factor. I would never consider the original odin 2 because of its size. This new mini however.....I might purchase it and use it for several years.
