Sure but in this price range it falls into slash/senton territory. The Baja Rey is considerably more. I cant speak for everyone but im sure the majority will choose a senton/slash over this.. the losi just doesnt have the mass appeal the same as the other two :/

Yes two different style of trucks with different handling characteristics but someone with the budget for a 1002 may consider the other two. Losi is way out of this range..

To be honest this truck is not in competition with any Arrma Senton or Traxxas Slash. The Senton & Slash aren’t trophy trucks nor are they short course trucks but this one is. It’s competing with the 1/10th scale Losi Baja Rey. That’s it’s competition. Not the Senton nor the Slash. The Senton and the Slash are technically just “ Off Road” trucks but by no means are they “Trophy Trucks/ Stadium Trucks/Short Course Trucks. Trophy/Stadium/Short Course all have a solid rear axle and front double wish bone suspension which the Senton and the Slash do not have therefore the Senton & Slash are just off road trucks.🤷🏻‍♂️💯love your vids. 👍💯

Hi Pete. I think i should have been more clear for my reasons to compare to the slash/senton. Yes they are bashing trucks essentially compared to trophy trucks and of course the Losi is a closer competitor the point I was trying to make was it falls into tge senton/slash price range. The losi is a lot more expensive than both the slash and the senton. The comparison is price! Not technical ability or style of truck. Again the point is.. would you buy this or slash/senton (Same price range).

@@beyondRC honestly I would have to say that I would purchase this truck because it’s still less expensive then the Losi Baja Rey. I’ve seen this truck in the lower 400’s and I’ve seen the Baja Rey in the lower 500’s (prices really vary for both trucks) and the upper price of the Chinese models do come with a 2 speed transmission (which the Baja Rey does not come with out the box) and the Chinese model comes with 2 oil shocks per wheel and has an ESC that’s integrated into the radiator fans for scale realism which pretty much no ground vehicle RC has done. “TomleyRC” did a review on the “Pro Series” of this truck and it was pretty impressive except for the hardness of the tires but according to the company they did this on purpose so the tires wouldn’t wear out quickly and I completely agree with you that the tires are completely unusable but I would also like to add that not only are the tires unusable but they really should have upped the wheel hexes to 17mm rather than that odd “Arrma 14mm hex”. All in all I do understand where you’re coming from but I also do think that this truck has a lot going for it for the price so long as you switch the wheels and wheel hexes. Dude, love your vids and reviews and I always watch your reviews before I purchase any rc. Thank you and bless you and you family.👍💯🙂

Exactly, I totally agree... for anyone looking for a trophy truck rc (and I'm not talking about a buggy chassis with a pickup truck body shell) this udirc model is a good option, since there are very few models to choose from, let's see Which are they! It has the losi baja rey 1/10, now in 2023 the losi baja rey 2.0 1/10, the kyosho outlaw rampage 1/10, the FTX zorro 1/10, that udi 1002E and the 1002 with 2 speed 1/10, already there was the Axial yet Score 1/10 in the past, there is the 1/12 scale feiyue fy08, the 1/7 scale traxxas UDR, a possible 1/7 scale competitor YIKONG DF7 V2, the giant losi super baja rey 2.0 de 1/6th scale, and the colossal 1/5th scale Kraken RC KV5 TT. And there is a micro, 1/32 Orlando hunter trophy truck OH32X02. ALL of these are rc trophy trucks, and have different drivability, as they have a high center of gravity, roll cage, extra tires, higher weight, etc.

It’s always interesting to see what other brands are producing. This model emphasises how much better the Senton and Slash are for sixty pounds more or put it another way..an upgrade of decent rubber tyres. A great and honest review as ever. Thank you.

Thank you for this review! I am really interested in one of these. I like the looks of it and some of the options etc that it has and I wonder if it can be made to run well. I wish someone could do a review with better tires on it. Like you mention at the end of your video I think it might be possible to make it work much better. It is obviously not something someone with limited funds should buy. It would be a mistake for sure if it was your first RC truck.

Awesome review as always. That makes Arrma 3S BLX $340 and Traxxas Slash $440 look like a bargain in the US. The thing is that these cars are likely not intended for international sales. The most expensive price (shipped) in China domestic market is $183!

It may look a little like the front and dual rear wheel to the UDR but I think the inspiration for the chassis design, size and overall setup is the Baja Rey.

I want this truck but I hate 14mm hex because the tire options are so limited. If I ever find one of these for cheap I will pick it up and maybe transplant tires from my senton to it because that suspension looks fun to have in my area

Well that's just hogwash, MANY people out there simply can't afford the big brands, many people just want an RC to play with, period. I mean there's a reason why these Chinese brands are exploding onto the scene...because there's a large market for it. They are great options to get people into the hobby cheap, then down the road they may invest in one of the big brands.

Maybe for you in western countries 500$ is a normal price, but don't forget that in many countries people work a month or even more to earn that amount of money so they can't afford traxxas

$417.00 United States Dollars they are out of their minds! Way way way better options out there for that kinda money! Better off saving another 300 bucks up and buying the UDR itself! Going to buy the traxxas Sledge on Monday when the hobby store opens back up after they moved locations pretty excited about that!

You will love the sledge. Just make sure the o-rings are in the diff cups so that you don't spit the dog bones out.

Sliding rear end is probity the locked rear diff. Why did they not just use a thicker diff oil. 👎

Not a fan of trucks like this. While not as realistic, I prefer lcg style tub chassis and independent suspension of my SCTs. They're familiar territory and easy to work on. Ease of maintenance and parts availability are important and this probably has neither...

No idea but i kind of like that they are trying something new even if it has failed a bit. When was the last time we see something like this from MJX, WLTOYS, EACHINE, HBX.. Fair play to them for trying to bring us a new 1/10 truck but i feel its overcomplicated and priced itself out the market.

Aliexpress (which i highly do NOT reccomend any1 use) has it posted for 1,500.00 usd right now...no lie. WtF! The speed rc (Robbie Gordon) trophy trucks are only 1:14 and 150.00 but they do 40 mph as advertised on its box. Also (good) oil shox. Its the first rc ive seen that actually truly achieves speed adverised on box right out the box. Id reccomend it to anyone over this, its smooth, stable, tough as nails and speedy. I have a review of it on my YT. I think sg' success went to their head and is deteriorating their brain cells or they are consuming that china white and/or chinese phentanol in mass amnts.

Traxxas and Arrma cant compete with the cheaper ended small scale rc (or for some reason dont know to, big market since alot are buying mjx, hbx, etc. Mini crawlers, etc.) as they only have quality in their expensive models (their cheap ends are bad and expensive, except trx4m), and the indie companies cant compete with big brands on the larger scale more expensive rc like the 700-800 dollar UDR

The scale crew will love this. The basher crew will not.

It loks scale and it drives scale, just change the tires and your good.

Yeah, the Senton and slash are not this truck’s competitors. Completely different chassis design on those two trucks. These scale trophy trucks are not meant to be driven like bashers. Driving characteristics are different.

The $280 is just a kit, the red one has no diff or 2 speed, the green one has a diff and 2 speed transmission, can switch from 2wd too 4 lo and 4 hi !!!!!!!!!! Also says it has 8x shocks vs. 4x

this rc truck is not a competitor of the traxxas slash, or for the Arrma senton, or losi tenacity, this udi 1002 is not a short course, but a Trophy truck rc, direct competitor of the losi baja rey, now knowing that, look at the baja rey price....

I don't think you can compare this to a Slash or Senton. Sure in price it's the same ballpark but I think solid axle scale RCs can't or shouldn't be compared to all 4 wheel independent suspension RCs. They're simply meant to do different things. That being said, you could compare this to say a 1/10 Losi Baja Rey which is significantly more expensive. IDK. I think with these China off-name brands, it really only makes sense if the price is pretty cheap. Once they start getting to the 3-400 or more range, you might as well buy from an established brand at that point for a better quality product and better part support which is huge. Like many others i think my point about comparing this to the others has been missed. It was solely based on price not chassis setup or anything else. The point i was trying to make was.. would you buy this or the slash/senton for the same money which are known and tried and tested? Couldn't compare to the baja rey in price as thats more expensive than both of those and not in the same ball park. I am aware the differences between a trophy truck and a short course truck again to emphasize one more time the comparison was price. Cheers

I don't get the comparison to slash and Senton as you mentioned this is a 4s / 6s truck? maybe it should be compared to UDR? tires can be switched, it sounds awful but that is a quick fix. I wonder how it will perform with seton tires which too uses 14mm hex. All that and Im not convinced the public will agree to pay so much for a Chinese brand. better known brands like the big JLB cheetah and the cobra from VRX are probably bigger, faster and have better name than this and the price tag is almost the same. Maybe they should have put 3S cheaper electronics to make it more affordable.

That price is insane! It seems that all these knock offs are increasing their prices to match U.S/Europe prices, but lack the quality and customer service. Greed is such a shame 😕 The worse the economy gets, the higher the prices are becoming, and the less we can afford to stay in this hobby.

You simply cant really compare this to a slash or senton even on price because they are worlds apart. For scale looks and operation these trucks are fine, but are NOT hardcore bashers like the arrma and traxxas trucks. The 1/10th losi baja rey performance and price is what this truck should be compared to.......

David this is just my opinion as mentioned in the video. Dont expect all to agree. If i did a poll asking what are the most well known and recommended short course trucks out there i am almost certain the slash and senton will be at the top. This is what a large number of people will compare this to when it comes to price especially. I love the looks of the Losi and no doubt its an awesome truck (I am yet to try one) but on popularity alone the clear winners are the slash and senton which is why i mention them in this video. Again dont expect you to be in agreement and that's cool :)

So it is overpriced but would you suggest it over Slash or arma

I’ll never understand why people keep trying to compare the UDR (and even this) to other RCs. These are nothing like a slash, or senton, and a UDR is nothing like a Mojave. If you want something to bash on, buy a basher(slash/Mojave) if you want a scaler, buy this or a UDR. You gonna buy your kids hot wheels for $1? Or model cars for $50?

Dang, just save a bit and grab a real UDR or Mojave.

@@beyondRC you made the statement that those other two rigs performance is much better.....if performance comparison was not your point why did you mention it....I'd rather have a scale trophy truck and drive it like so than a run of the mill basher that isn't special or unique or realistic in any way...the fact that those two rigs aren't realistic or scale in their appearance or performance relates to the trophy truck makes the later a better choice for the scale minded. Tires are the only downfall. Bashers are low IQ
