THE NEVERENDING GNARLY | Mountain Biking with Jeremiah Bishop

In all of my travels I've never ridden a trail that was so rough and tumble for so long. The grade was just slightly downhill enough to keep forward momentum as we picked through endless boulders.
Jeremiah Bishop was a great host and had so many great stories to tell!

People always complain how Brian can’t jump or doesn’t risk this or that. They need to watch this video. That is some insane chunk and you mad it look easy. Everyone has their skill set. This was exceptional riding 🍻

Watching his videos made me realize that I don’t have to push to jump or do big drops, Brian goes around or rolls most big stuff and his rides are always epic

Yeah, was thinking the same thing! He might not be the best jumper or the most "dangerous" rider in the world, but holy shit the dude can ride! Some of the stuff in this video just looks straight up unrideable, and this is not even taking into consideration that he was following Jeremiah!

Yeah, but many of us cut our teeth riding rigid in the early days. Moab's portal trail without an ounce of suspension, cantilever brakes and 1.9" tires & 26" wheels. Today's 2.5", tubeless 29'er XC full suspension bikes make it SO much better by comparison. Oh and it was uphill ALL directions in the snow too, of course!
You're a brave man for riding rocks like that now with the lack of availability of parts!
It cool that JB did more talking than you Bryan, you can tell what a rounded human being he is from the ease with which he tells his stories. That goes for you to, your always make your rides even more interesting because of your narration of the trail, stories, historical info etc. My wife even likes watching your vids, compared to other YT’s because she says it’s interesting (she’s not a biker). Keep rocking Bryan. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

The dude fb live before and after every race! 😄
Nice to see the emphasis on exploration of potential new routes. Decades ago THAT WAS FUN part of single track riding. In the 90s I rode with 4 guys from work over a long lunch hour and WE had to find potential routes--our motto was any deer trail could be a mtn bike trail, and we carried pruners and saws to clear obstacles. Yup, I'm an old man, 67, and taking grandson to Bentonville this (July 2021) weekend. He will be jumping and dropping everything, gopro equipped, and I'll roll it all, and say "do that again" and take pictures. Mtn. biking is going through same evolution as downhill skiing did, all good, and provides fun and challenge for a wide variety of riders.
You could ride with JB every day for the whole summer and never ride the same trail twice. The dudes a local legend and glad you hit him up!
One word: EPIC. Truly unbelievable and this dudes passion for riding is like nothing I’ve ever seen. Very nice Brian.
Those trails, my god! JB is such a nice person, thank you for cooperation with him :)
I have always loved your cheesy/dad like sense of humor, but there is something ultra satisfying about watching you ride with someone else who has that same cheesy sense of humor.
I love the way your friend noticed the sounds on different trail surfaces. I too love that hollow sound going over loose rocks.

Always a pleasure to see Jeremiah, especially on a proper mtb ride!
Wow, now that is some real mountain biking. Thanks Brian and Jeremiah
Man I love Jeremiah Bishop.
JB is a legend! I miss seeing him at the Massanutten Hooha every year!!
Hell yeah, you weren’t kiddin, that is some pretty consistent gnar lol Jeremiah is such a cool character, you can plainly see how much he loves nature, and I could listen to his stories all day
I really REALLY like how you’ve been mic’ing the other riders! Great job with your editing. I’m hitting one of your cross country stops next week in Burke, VT. Hitting up the Kingdom Trails and camping.
JB ... East Coast LEGEND! Awesome video.
I absolutely love riding 'off the grid' trails! Seeing you guys ride this just makes my toes itch for a ride! Thanx for riding these trails to the both of you. Really inspirational. You guys rock!
I can’t wait to get a mountain bike again. I’m 31 and haven’t had a bike since I was younger. I’m hoping to pick one up by next year!
"I did that thing when you make the lever go out a little bit further" .. we get it lol
These GW videos make me miss that area. I can almost smell those trails! Living in Moab since 99, I can’t believe I miss those slimy off camber roots, the “gotcha rocks” that stick up vertically slightly shorter the grass. Great memories! Thanks Brian. And one more time: you have to ride trails like that at night for the full GW experience. Too bad the 24 hours of Canaan is gone, you would have loved it!
No joke, I could watch Jeremiah's pedal stroke all day long. Such smooth and clean form.
Finally in my neck of the woods. 😎 I live a couple miles from here.
oh man so much fun to watch this episode, 2 man having the time of their life riding bikes on niche trailes, good stuff
Finally the wait is over... ❤️❤️❤️
More cred, keeping up with Jeremiah Bishop
Just wow. that is real mountain biking. Great vid.
That trail is sick!! That's my favorite type of terrain.
Wow that is probably the most rocky trail I've seen!

Awesome video. Jeremiah is a really hardcore rider!
BKXC has met his match in the rocks! Very cool to see you riding with JB.
That dude's an absolute beast!
Nice job keeping up with the XC dude Brian! That was a gnarly trail for sure.
Wow - just discovered this channel - this dude can ride! Awsome vid - thanks! 🤘🏼
You went from my back yard in NWA to my dad's back yard in western Virginia. If you hit up the Colorado front range next you could do my brothers back yard.
I live in VA... I'm gonna have to go check this area out.
at 20:20 best moment: “Nice!”. “Oh, that’s scary.”
This trail ride is crazy !!!
so nice trails!
Rocks are insane, great video!
What an inspiration 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Well done man! That was some rugged riding!
Holy epic backcountry Gnar! 🤯
What an honor to ride with Jeremiah!
Wooow,.. Great Riding, Crazy Trails, Beautiful Shot,... such a Good One Buddy,..🙂👍
Man that looks like a fantastic trail.
It's like a podcast in the mountains!!
you are sooo goood in those gnarly trail! Wow this is crazy!
didn't expect the title would be in reference to the movie "the never ending story" 22:10 and yes, the trail lived up to the description. that was awesone!
Glad you got out into some of the VA goods
Those are some gnarly trails.
Cliff Trail is the raddest trail ive ever ridden in the GWNF but there’s so much out there - I’ll never be done exploring ! 🤘🤘🤘
Good work Gents , I’m going out on my bike now.
Looks like this'll be fun
WOW Great Thanks
Ok will watch this KZread after tour de France amazing race
Reminds me of White Oak Ridge in Chattanooga -- it's like an uninterrupted 3 mile long rock garden.
Awesome video 🤩🤟🔥
NW Virginia and WV are really rugged. Snowshoe is for the speed runs, but everything else is gnar. Slaty Fork is right across the border too.
Awesome 👌
Stokesville!!! VA/Shenandoah is so great!
Wow nice trail❤️
This was a really clean Mountain bike trail .
JB is a legend. Olympian. NUE champ.
13:34 "intermission" :D Jeremiah said something about "megavalanche".. This trail is much harder than that!
That some serious rocks…🤘
That looked very techy. Awesome job. JB might talk you into doing the marji gesick. Hop on his training plan and you're G2G!!
"Shut up, bike!" I think we've all been there.

So many trails to explore all over the place...And this has some jank for sure, I would be doing some walking.
Well done ! Brian cleaned on first try
11:45 I like what he said about the great people he's met though cycling and totally agree. Lot's of A-holes out there (that seemingly hate their lives and themselves) but I've yet to meet a mountain biker or motorcyclist that I don't almost immediately hit it off with. It's uncanny.

When you started singing Lamal... lol
If your spending time in Virginia you should come down to Carytown Bikes and ride the downtown Richmond Trails!!!!!
Thank God it was a "Possible Route" LOL 🤘😎
You know Jeremiah?? I’m expecting a VC crossover!

Is Jeremiah really riding a Canyon Lux XC bike on these trails? Wow. That is skill right there
Santa Barbara’s tunnel trails pretty gnarly too
Indonesia right here !😉
This dude was something else. Lol
I like these kinda trail then actual trail Look more kinda fun.
Get it then Podna!!😅
@14:50 Looks like a fantastic trail! Proof afaic that mountain biking doesn't have to be just "bitchin' singletrack" to be epic fun 😃
Nice
Wow! What a ride. If you could tilt the camera up just a tick that would be 👍🏻
at 8:30 “it’s like i forgot where the trail goes”. be prepared for backcountry riding.
DAYUM
wow, that guy is like an older version of Brian.

Except that JB is a cyborg. He just hammers at any typical great biker's max output, but for 12 hours.
👍👍👍
Awesome mtbiking
Permethrin is a good start, but in SE you would really benefit from picaridin. A much safer DEET alternative that's more effective at keeping away the nastier critters like chiggers etc.
I wish I could do this as a job
Does the extended cut have the Deathstar trail in it?
Yo Brian, if you like that kind of tech rock riding, there is a TON more like it in West Virginia and Virginia. These trails don't get enough love from the outside mtb community, for sure.
