The "Nautilus" folding knife

"Nautilus"
The "Nautilus" is my first folding knife design that uses a lockback mechanism. It has an overall length of 21 cm, with a drop point profile blade that measures 9 cm. The blade is made from a 4mm thick steel file, which features a sculpted Nautilus along the length of the blade spine.
The handle liners are made from brass with stainless steel bolsters.
The lock mechanism and release lever are made from stainless steel and adorned with intricate filework. The pivot is a stainless screw with brass washers. The handle scales are Narra, with beautiful tiger stripe grains that have a chatoyant effect, resembling the stripes of the chambered nautilus.
This folding knife is named after the chambered Nautilus, which is a "living fossil". It is related to squid and octopus and appeared in the sea long before the first dinosaur appeared on land. The chambered nautilus is a powerful symbolic representation of one's spiritual evolution. As the nautilus grows, it creates chambers inside its spiral shell. It seals the old chambers as it moves to the new one.
As we age, we will constantly find ourselves in a bigger chamber, such as a broader mindset and greater challenges, and leave the smaller one as we continue to learn and grow, as they no longer fit us. The nautilus' spiral shell design suggests that the chambers have no end as long as we continue to grow and move to the new and bigger chambers.
