This was originaly posted to the 2nd Channel, but as that one has been rendered irrecoverable due to a KZread Bug, I have reuploaded it here. Thank you for this I love all the other videos and have been waiting in anticipation for more
The Ancient Forest has got to be the most forest-y area in the series. I got lost in it more times than I could count and I'm okay with that. That's what a forest does to you and it challenged me to know my way around it. It might sound masochistic, but I'm hoping this isn't the last time we'll get a "lost in the forest" experience in Monster Hunter.

Bad part about world maps are that those are places we are meant to fight the monsters in, but they are so crapped and full of slopes that it makes monster parts clip through the area.

@@hypertensiontwist6953 There has to be a balance between a forest where you would get lost in and a forest where you can fight in. And to me, there's no such thing as "too much forest". I like forests (even though it has a lot of mosquitoes and the humidity feels like I'm drowning in my own sweat.).

the ancient forest is one of the only video game forest's that feels like a REAL forest. its labyrinthine and confusing, dense and thick with trees and other wildlife. i love it, personally
I absolutely hate playing in this map, but actually exploring it without a quest objective is pretty neat

See, I love hunts here, so much verticality, environmental traps, and travel options. Not as fun as Coral Highlands, but still a lot of fun.
I’m surprised you didn’t play the rathian calling for rathalos sound. The first time I heard it I wasn’t even fighting a rath. Just heard it over the forest. Easily one of the most terrifying experiences I’ve ever had.
Sorry about your MonHun channel. Your videos are actually the biggest reason I’ve been planning to get the game.
I crave more of this. Please make more of this

Who.
"...while every single one of them could, *and probably will*, fill their own documentary episode..." While rewatching I realised that this is (probably) foreshadowing for MH Ecology season 5
I've played this game for so long I'm basically one with The Green now. I love the Ancient Forest so much, it's one of my favorite areas in most game let alone a first area and the fact it can bring you back to Astera just by walking is so cool and nostalgic now after Seliana.
Your enthusiasm and knowledge for nature is incredible. It makes this video very interesting
Ever tried luring an Anjanath towards a Jho? the Anjanath will refuse to stand anywhere near the Jho, pretty realistic
That's what I love from monster hunter series (especially world) the map looks like a living breathing biome with biologically possible creature not just a hunting ground filled with random monster. A feat that cannot be bested by other copy games
Our planet is a neverending wonder and these videos is a never ending start
Aaah I didn't expect this when I subscribed to this channel , I m a big mh fan 😍😍😍

Black veil Vaal Hazaak and Kushala Daora occasionally visit the Ancient Forest regions.
I love your monster hunter videos!
I love nature videos so having it mixed with fiction is so cool and relaxing to listen to while I work
a god damn masterpiece, the magnum opus of monster hunter lore videos
Wonderful, I love your MH content!
9:26 “live to steal eggs another day” getting mauled by angry pickle man.
Absolutely loving this series, man! Such a perfect mix of fantasy-world lore and believably realistic explanations for each monster’s behaviour and abilities.
What a great video‼ the previous ones have always had great quality, but the good work you do is always surprising, thanks ♥
Can you imagine if lizards worked like Anja? "After thorough investigation we found the source of the fire to be a bearded dragon that got lost in the heat vents."
This video is absolutely amazing!!! Monster hunter is one of my favorite franchises, abd seeing it get this much respect warms my heart.
These are criminally underrated, amazing content dude
I watched all the first ones about specific monsters. Never knew you made 4 more this is insane!
This video deserves much more views you put so much effort into it and I love it
absolutely love this series and hope to see more
man the ancient forest looks so beautiful if only it was a normal forest to visit but its not but still if it was real i would still go visit it
These are the videos that get my hunter juices flowing.
Cool video, I love the fact you cover both my favorite mangas and game, subscribed
What an amazing video, great work!
This going to be awesome I can tell !
Well technically another elder dragon can occasionally appear in the ancient forest is the Kushala Daora but that is an extremely rare appearance
I'm surprised you didn't include the Leshen in this section, given that it exclusively appears in the forest.

Leshen is a monster from the witcher series, it was put in World as a crossover event for advertisement, and is therefore non-cannon.
I can imagine someone making a compilation of all these videos from you in like a full tv documentary. Like everytime you mention a new monster they just cut to the video you made on that monster, so it'd be possible to make 5 or more full documentaries in actual tv length. Ofcourse only once/if you make videos on every monster there is but it'd still be insane to watch.
fantastic video. I hope we get more.

Whoah, I'm getting Walking with Series vibes watching this. A documentary of Monster Hunter World, Nice.

tigrex can fly it does it in older games to change areas if i recall correctly, and to escape pitfalls. Albeit, it’s basically a glide but still
Great video dude! BUT, I cant let it slip u called vaal hazak a wyvern @ 42:17 xd anw, keep up the good work u've earned urself my sub!
I LOVE THIS VIDEOS SO MUCH
The best map in all of monster hunter! Because it feels like an actual fucking wild jungle and not just video game levels.
Well actually, pre-World the Tigrex WAS able to fly. They use to it to move from areas to areas, just not in fights.
wonderful video!!!
26:16 Zinogre has the ability to use the move called the Strike Laser Claw

I love this series so much! Gotta say though, with how you described the Anjanath’s nose I feel like you should have to censor it to be KZread TOS compliant. 😂
As a note on Azure Rathalos, its shelling doesn't get thicker across its entire body. Looking at the hitzone values, the shelling actually gets weaker on its wings, and instead its main tail gets tougher. What I assume from that is its tail is what's got most of the shelling, only leaving the tail tip mostly exposed, and from it having to adapt to the extra weight (from minimal extra shell around its neck, body, and back), its wings become exposed from how large they are, thus making them a new weak point. Of course, I'm guessing all this from the hitzone values, and they can be inconsistent sometimes, mainly looking at Rajang for that. However, I think in this case it raises a question about the statement that they have heavier shelling, because if that was the case, then why are their overdeveloped wings so weak?
@JanusHoW

No, analyzing hitzone values is a great way to consider a monster's biology. Take the Basarios and Gravios. Unlike just about every other wyvern, their weakest point is their belly. Why? Because their vital organs are all clumped there to minimize exposure to the heat of both the lava they can walk through and their own flame sacs. Meanwhile, they're weakest to Water because it erodes their stony outer hides and cools their flames.
this is good but every time a new monster is explained its introduced by a "however" and its not in power order so some monsters that are weaker are pictured as stronger. other then that its good.
Oh this was a treat
I hate to be this guy (no I don’t), but the chapter on the Pukei-Pukei should be called the Poisonous Gardener. Venom is injected, through a bite or a sting. Poison is ingested or inhaled, which is what we see in the game.
Small addition to 35:00 and on- the Rathian wingspike also works as a syringe to feed prechewed food to young chicks.
I'm finally watching these now that I'm playing world.
Love the lore
Could you do an analysis on gojo i loved the analysis you did with yuji gojo is such a complex character that i have a hard time truly understanding his themes and character arc
I be high af thinking I'm watching National Geographic, whole time my son giving more details on Monster Hunter then Capcom ever did😂😭😂😭 I'm here for it✊🏾
Funny thing is tobi doesn't eat anything. It's subspecies will hunt but tobi just exists on will power
The Tobi Kadachi is literally the squirrel of the Monster Hunter World

Female anginath: * appears * The male: WELCOME TO MHTV CRIBS
"makes it an unbeatable aerial predator" Astalos would like to know your location
I have over 1000 hours in MHW and had NO IDEA that Kulu-Ya-Ku could strike a rock like flint.
The tigrex can fly in the games and while it never or almost never flies during direct engagement with the hunter it will take flight from time to time to flee the hunter. It would probably be something like a chicken as far as flight goes. Yes chickens can fly and so can turkey and many other animals that people think can't. The flight isn't graceful and not long lived but possible for the animals. I'm also talking about powered flight not gliding because while that can under the correct number be called flight under most circumstances it would not be considered that but something closer to slow falling or falling with style as buzz/woody say. I have seen this fleeing in multiple monster hunter games and while it might have been nothing more than an issue of we couldn't think of any way for this animal to leave a pitfall trap or change zones from certain areas it is still in the games. I'm talking up to the monster hunter series up to TRI and for both the 3DS and WII version. Anything after I don't have any direct knowledge of.
Deviljho is definitely the strongest tough in that ecosytem
Anyone care to explain why the clip of the Great Jagras voring an Aptonoth is the most replayed one?
Nice
Is there any herbivorous counterpart to the deviljho? (Eats entire Forests literally)
I wish he’s talk about endemic life as well
Bro was getting a little carried away when talking about anjanaths nose
So, by that logic, wouldn't the Azure Rathalos, logically speaking, take over? If the Azure Rathalos are typically stronger and more defensive than normal, wouldn't that inevitably lead to an increase in fitness for the Azure and a decrease in fitness for the original red Rathalos?
CORAL HIGHLANDS PLEASEEE!!!
¿ didn't quite understand why jagrass abandons their eggs?
It is shame that second channel was deleted.
And also the Hoarfrost Reach
There are pollinators in the forest, and a plant needs to exchange genes with other individuals, they can't just disperse clones forever like you suggest.
Man, sorry about your channel. It's a shame so much great content can be erased in a second.
Kushala a can go to the forest?
Hm, are you gonna try to set up a new channel for these videos or are you just gonna continue here?
ever considered doing this type of content for ark survival evolved?
No offense, but I think the audio cuts out in the outro.
Dang. Why don't the herbivores and little critters get some love in these videos.
What happened to your monster hunter channel
Jagras aren't fanged beasts. The only known fanged beast in the new world is Rajang.
Oh yeah I love getting rid of Rathians poison by cutting off her tail. Yup. Always.
