The Native American Tribe Stuck In A Border War

Part 1 - Why Walls Won't Secure The U.S.-Mexico Border • Why Walls Won't Secure...
There's been a lot of mud thrown during the presidential election ... especially at immigrants. AJ+'s Border Stories tackles myths about immigration and chronicles the struggles Latinos in America are facing in a four-part series through the heart of border country. We talk to the people who are most affected by deportation, labor restrictions, discrimination and heightened border security.

I agree we as a people do need to rise together and take what was stolen back. Then we can live as we choose. As a tribal nation, carrying for our people the way we use too. Many of us we farmers who lived off the lands and live in peace with one another, helping each other to live a life of beauty, and to only take what we need from the land. Taking caring for the creation put in our care by the great spirit. Showing respect for all things, especially our brothers and sisters ensuring they have what they need to survive and live from day to day. Together as was truly are a holy people placed in this land by the great spirit. We are not animals as history claims we are. But people who want to live in peace in what was provided for us by the creator. Sure fought, but who doesn’t when their way of life is threatened. And for that we are called savages. Who came stealing, killing and telling mistruths to enslave of into a system we were not familiar with or cared for? Not us, so who really are the savages?

wow, thanks for putting this video out. this, and other related subject matter, has been of great interest to me, for years now. if you could make a video about the natives in Texas along the border with Mexico, and how smuggling of contraband, both human and otherwise, effects the ever increasingly endangered peyote cactus (Lophophora Williamsii). not to mention "Narco tourists" or flat-out poachers. also the dwindling number of peyoteros ( I think there's 3 left.) also the ever increasingly endangered "star cactus". A species that is easily confused for a peyote, to the amateur and grows in the same areas as peyote. there may be only 4000 of these left in the world and are endangered of being pushed out of existence in the wild, by poachers and by collectors that don't want to pay the thousands of dollars it would cost to buy a specimen A few of the Native Americans that I've spoken to, are worried that their holy sacrament and vital medicine, will soon become extinct in the wild. THANKS, and once again, awesome video.

Mexicans are now a blend of European Spaniard Blood and Aztec Indian blood. The Spanish Already had some brown Skin from the North African Muslims influence Crossing the Mediterranean into Europe a hundred years earlier during the holy wars. The Anglo European mostly white skin settled in the Eastern North America. They had their own battles with the native Indians but were not as brutal as the Spanish.

The faith of United States and Israel is sielled since decades now, about since Nixon left office time period ,and there is no return back. Both countries are normalizing similar oppressing laws. If you want to be an harbinger, a prophet of the future, watch carefully what's going on in Israel, because the same will happend in the United states. You see israel Is a brave country, obssess with survival, and they are scared that a potential administration could sacrifice them, abandoning them to the Islamic world, who are hostile to its existence. Therfore israel want assurance, and the best assurance is to dominate the United States and destroy the ennemies of Israel, which is what they are doing now in Syria with the help of ISIS.

I believe as America gets more hostile towards immigrants, it's going to cause mexicans and native americans to work together. Because America already thinks every hispanic is an illegal. I have native american friends, and some of them have been harassed before because people thought they were illegals. Look what's going on in Chicago, a predominant black community is protesting against mirgants. America's next race conflict can be between black/white against hispanic/native american

She doesn’t feel threatened by “migrants” because she knows we are all the same people. The America’s is an entire continent before it was split into, north, south, west. What’s now the U.S wasn’t always a nation until July, 4, 1776. Native American’s in the U.S, were still labeled “illegal” during that time and slavery was still a happening. It wasn’t until 1924, when Native American’s in the U.S were able to gain citizenship by working in agriculture and enlisting in the military. Six years after that, the Great Depression happened 1.8 million native Americans from the U.S were pushed off their land’s and deported to what’s now MX. The truth has been omitted because they want the majority to remain white.

Walls and fences were first put in by Europeans in our continent, about year 1600. Many Native Americans like me, thought, that was crazy idea, to put a fences on our vast land. We did not know that walls and fences meaning was "Property Ownership". Native Americans never sold an inch of this vast land and in our mind, this our land and cannot be divided. Now, America is completely fenced as our land has been stolen or improperly taken. It is crazy. Native Americans always welcomed everyone to share our bounty but now is ridiculous as it was back on the 1600. Fences and walls are not a good idea for us.

Because no matter what one purchases, it'll just be splitting another tribe in half. The further south you go into Tohono O'odham's traditional territory, you just end up in another tribes' territory for example the Comcaac tribe is located within the O'odham territory in Mexico then under them is the Yaqui tribe then the Mayo tribe and so on. Also the Tohono O'odham aren't even the only tribe currently split in half by the US/Mexico border, the Cocopah tribe in Arizona is split by the border & the Kumeyaay tribe in San Diego is split by the border.
