My best friend introduced me to The national in 2014 before he let depression take control over him. He introduced me not only to The National but many other amazing artists and it made me become huge music appreciator and also invest time to study music production. Their music ( mostly the ones in high violet) helped me through a lot and through the loss of my best friend. Watching this concert during quarantine made me remember some good and funny moments in college and realize how sometimes I take many things for granted. Time goes by fast. Thank u for uploading this video :)

I discovered The National after I watched the movie Worm Bodies and the song at the ending was Runaway.I check who’s singing and found this ….mind blowing

In a time when a tidal wave of fear threatens to freeze my heart, The National comes along and teaches me how to sing and dance once again. It may be fear and sorrow mixed with hope and love, but I can hold all of that and my humanity too.

I'm just coming across these live concerts recently, I tuned into them back in 2010 when they released this album which was an eye opener... seen them my own town Belfast on a sunny night outdoors 2022 .. fully blown away by the live performance.. life changing music

I love high violet. The entire album is gold. But this band is gold. They've been my very favorite band since 2010. Saw them play in their hometown of Cincinnati. My first of their concerts. Still the BEST show iv ever seen. Tears inducing for me. Lol ...then I saw them the next summer in Philly. But that Cincinnati show and the magic of first seeing them live..🏆 They opened with run away .with Matt hitting his fists together like he does....just magic... like that voice.❤ 🏆❤🏆❤🏆❤🏆

Can't agree enough! They really have written some of the best songs of this millenium so far lol. Matt is easily in my top 5 favorite lyricists too. I'm from Ohio (live in WA now), and saw them in Columbus, OH. I've always loved that they are from Ohio because there is something I sense in the lyrics often that reminds me of Ohio. Anyways yeah love to hear praise for The National from fans like us! Also Runaway might be my favorite song from High Violet. They have mastered the build up in their songs, and Runaway exemplifies it best in my opinion.

@@Zeokoz did they open with 'runaway' at your show too? Best concert of my life. The show in Cincinnati Ohio. We live in southern NJ and drove to that show!lol... ( if I remember it was like 10hrs? Something Like that) stayed over night. First time in Ohio. Do you know the national song"So far around the bend" ? from the mixed album dark was the night. That song Can't be found, far as i know, on any national album..but it's a favorite song of theirs. Finally got it on spotify. I looked for yrs bc I had it on my iPod before it was lost. Lol. My other favs are afraid of everyone and about today. Runaway ..ofcourse. Bloodhound Ohio. That voice!❤❤❤ my national playlist has nearly 80 songs. I included the songs they do with el vy as well. And the song -think you can wait- by the national from the movie -win win. Theyr so good it hurts. I'm ready for another national show..but sadly can't afford 2 tickets at their going prices ..lol. Maybe I'll just go alone! 😂

So late to this band.. it was only while visiting an art gallery in denmark, the louisiana near humlebeck , a few miles north of copenhagen, that we saw a video of the national , playing "sorrow" at a concert in nyc in 2013, they played the song continuously for 6 hours. To analyse how a 3 minute song can alter and differ , due to fatigue and tempo changes. We watched for around 45 minutes, before moving on thru the exhibition, but we knew we had to get the album. And what an album.

I love it when KZread ads appear mid-song, more of that please.

Still cherish my High Violet Tour AAA Pass from the show in Chicago at The Riv. Got to film for Tom's doc, chill on their tour bus and have a beer while transferring footage with all the guys. The most genuine dude's I've ever met. ♥️

I remember buying this album via a CD at Target on a whim because the cover art was enough to pique my interest. I was 21 at the time & this album found me at the perfect time. I’ve loved it ever since & have been revisiting their older stuff now 10+ years down the road & am so happy to find this gem here in its entirety. High Violet is such a gorgeous record & so re-listenable, so thanks to them for posting this.

The National knew we needed them right now.

I'm a new, The National fan I don't know how this amazing music has eluded me for so long, at last I found it. This is a great video thanks for posting my only " crying" is that KZread is constantly interrupting songs with commercials, constantly like almost every other song or more, not that sucks. Peace !

I feel so validated for always mishearing lyrics! We hear what we want. As a therapist, I'm always helping people realize that life is nothing more than their interpretation of the world around them and they can change that interpretation whenever they want.

Early 2011 I lived a few months in brooklyn and this album just bring me back to these times. I also used to see national members often in williamsburg. High violet is a masterpiece. What a pandemia gift!

One of those bands where you grew older the more you loved these guys' music! As an emotionally matured college guy, The National became my theme music for the rest of my phase.

Am so glad that I finally saw the full video. A much needed 1 hour of pure Bliss amidst the time of adversity
