Wendell Holmes, who plays John, was in many radio shows in the 1940s and '50s that featured science fiction stories. You can hear him on Dimension X, X Minus One, and, of course, Mysterious Traveler. He also was a successful television actor.

Before tvs were in almost every household. Radios were the main source of news and entertainment. I did not live during this time but i get a srong nostalgic feeling hearing this. Like its some how imprinted in my memory. Its strange to miss a time i did not live in.

TV's in almost nowhere due to lack of technology , radio was king , and cinemas ran news reels plus the entertainment . Rationing would also have been a very big problem , for many Day to Day items - food , medicine , gasoline . Rationing was still on for nearly 10 years after WW2 - it was still on many items , when I was a child .

Beautiful English!Music to my ears.So much joy to listen to it as a non-native!.This might be called BBC American English...🌹😀, I’m wondering whether it is still known/taught/ spoken at all...🤔or forgotten...sadly?

Ok, entertaining, but there are too many plot holes...i.e., if John worked at home, surely there would have been enough evidence laying around to substantiate Charles' claims. All he had to say when he broke down confessing was "follow me, I have something to show you".
