I think this is going to be my next book. I love history, and only read non fiction since about 2010. I can't believe Doug and Megyn read "Devil In the White City", loved that book back in 2008ish. Love this break from the politics. Love Megyn and this show. Doug is super charming with infectious enthusiasm, a captivating charismatic guy, clearly brilliant, and just plain fun. Another great interview by one of the best, Megyn Kelly.

The book sounds excellent. It is now on my read list. Having grown up on a farm and driving Diesel trucks, tractors, 4-wheelers, etc., I greatly appreciate Diesel's invention. It is beautiful to see the two of you in this educational conversation. You exemplify a wholesome relationship that embraces respect, honor, love, and devotion. Thank you. P.S. Megyn, I listen to your podcast daily, and I admire your ability and willingness to color outside the lines and bring the facts to the audience.

Thank you so much for your show and for this episode !! Having grown up around farm and heavy machinery and as a wife of a truck driver and I had no idea there was a story behind the Diesel engine. Also didn’t know that a lot of people have no idea about the difference between a gas and Diesel powered engine. Stopped less than halfway through to buy it on Audible. My husband loves to listen to non fiction while driving and I can’t wait to read it also. Keep doing what you’re doing Megyn, we need voices like yours now more than ever❤❤❤

It is her husband. Nothing wrong with her promoting his work. They were married on March 1st of 2008. They live in Connecticut. He is a former CEO of a cybersecurity company. They have three children. They appeared twice together back when she was on Fox News. He has written three books. In October 2022 he launched the show Dedicated with Doug Brunt. Since he transitioned to being an author the podcast is all about talking to world renown authors and people in the publishing world.

Really enjoyed the show today. When it start I was thinking this is not what I listen to Megyn for and was considering turn it off. You held me long enough till I got interested. I drive a diesel pickup truck and I've always been interested in the engineering behind it and why it is better for do work. I've also been interested in alternative fuels for diesel engines. I had thoughts of brewing my own biodiesel sort of like Willie Nelson has. I'm not a book reader, but I get motivated to give a shot. Maybe an audio book like you do. Great show.

Rudolf Diesel was part of family lore, my grandfather was a prime military naval contractor and built the USA battleship "Dreadnaughts", in anticipation of WWI happening between the German and British. Doug is correct, the diesel was an energy efficiency revolution, every bit the equal to nuclear power in the 20th Century. Diesel was a humanitarian, and actually wanted it to be accessible to the common man, on a very local and peaceful basis. Powerful inventions are usually leveraged for warfare and projection of power, and such was the case with the diesel engine, though the civilian uses for transport and energy production are legion. Hope the book does well, Doug, it is a story that deserves telling.

Haven't read the book but very familiar with diesel and the ramifications of his death. If you realize how many types of fuel stock the engine can use... amazing as we explore these today and the improvements on this type of engine.

Thanks for the opportunity to meet Doug which encourages me to check out his web site. I took a minute about halfway to text a buddy who has been a Diesel mechanic and instructor for years about this interview and the debut of Doug’s new book. Watch you frequently Megan and our stars align almost exactly. There was a short time that I lost faith in you when you decided you didn’t like Trump anymore but I think you’ve seen the light now. I wouldn’t be inclined to sit down and have a beer with him but he’s the best thing this country currently has going for it so I bite the bullet and overlook his arrogance and abrasive manners. Thank you for an enjoyable blog.

Rudolph Diesel was born in my city which is over 2000 year old city in Bavaria. Germany and there is a monument not far away from my home. Augsburg has a tremendous amount of history and it had the richest families in Europe living in Augsburg, the Fugger and Welser families .... many European countries would borrow money from them. The Freedom for religion was signed in Augsburg to stop the catholic and protestant fighting plus Martin Luther spend important time when in hiding in Augsburg. It is an extremely beautiful city with so many canals just about everywhere.

I wonder if anyone will pick this up as a movie? I bet it would be fabulous! And, yes, I'm going to read the book first!

Great interview. Need books on history in which the research is done and shows the pros and cons as civilization progresses and shows the humanity of this brilliant innovator. Hopefully, it helps us to learn history, its context and the lessons of history. I will be reading the book for sure. .

My Two Fav’s, new studio is beautiful, so excited Doug is back! My latest read Code Name Helene, great heroine lead and the French 75 was the drink throughout the novel 🎉🥂

Love the new studio. Absolutely loved this episode. You can tell you two have a marvelous life together. Would like to read the book, but can’t afford it. Maybe a friend will loan it to me, or perhaps it will become a movie 😊

I’ve listened to all of his podcasts, and Megyn’s. What an inspiring couple. Wishing you many blessings as you continue to make it more pleasant to live in our upside down culture. Can’t wait for an audio version of this book as both my husband and I prefer to listen rather than read.

Great talk, great couple. I will read the book and compare it to Marc Zoellners German book, "The man who hit Rudolf Diesel dead"

Anybody know how to watch Megyn live at NOON? She has so many platforms & shows it's hard to figure things out. Her page says live M-F noon-2pm, but I can't find it?
