If its dark enough for Stars its too dark for pruning. If its light enough for pruning, its too light for stars. These two activities are mutually exclusive regarding time.

Based on the above comment, questions occur. Evening is the time between 5-7pm but since we don't know the time of year, it affects the situation. If this event occurred during the summertime, it would be too light for stargazing. If it was in winter, it would be too dark for pruning. Plus, a proper gardener may not prune trees except during certain times of year in order to help trees grow at their best. So we also need to know the extent of the gardener's experience. As well as the depth of the husband's hobby of stargazing. Also, does the house even have a wine cellar? And since they have both a maid and butler, does the maid's responsibilities include setting the table, or is it the butler's? Sorry, I love murder mystery stories and puzzles.😅😅 Does that make me a psychopath??😮😢

There were 5 people in the house. That excludes the gardener, who was in the garden and not in the house. Therefore, the murderer is the fifth mystery person that must've been in the house.

5 is considered evening? 5pm is still afternoon..More likely around 6pm onwards.. So it's the gardener..

It’s definitely the butler. The husband and gardener were together. The chef and maid were close and potentially within sight of each other so assuming it was only one murderer than the butler is the only reasonable answer. Plus who drinks wine on Sunday night not Saturday night

Wrong, you can't star watch during the day and everyone else is preparing dinner. The odd one out is the gardener, pruning is the only daytime activity.

Pruning trees somewhere between 6pm to 9pm not likely it could be the husband only if it is summer but they didn't give us that information and it is dinner time so that's all the the maids cleared so in conclusion it is the gardener I am a child so not a phcopath
