The Movie You Air Every Year When You Have Nothing Else To Show

Фильм және анимация

There are some movies out there. Some movies so cheap, so strange, so filled with holiday cheer that they must be aired every year until the end of time.
Everyone has seen these movies. Everyone remembers these movies, but does anyone actually think they are any good? Are they any good? Will this scrawny holiday dork gain anything from tearing it apart?
Does it matter? It'll at least be fun... and festive!

2015-ish KZread was basically just watching people 5-10 years older than me talk about things that came out like 2 years before I was born, that basically always started with "We've all seen [thing]." It's nice to see how things have changed by not really changing at all where it matters outside of now I'm the target audience.

Hot take here: This special probably has one of the highest stakes among Christmas movies. Because if Santa goes to jail, Christmas is irrevocably changed forever. Either Christmas is completely canceled or the elves take Santa's place as the main gift giver to the world's children. If we go the Christmas is canceled route, people will have to create a new holiday to replace it. ...Seriously, the original version of "Grandpa's gonna sue the pants off of Santa" ends with Santa being found GUILTY for grandma's death! Which leads to Christmas being canceled since Santa is needed to deliver presents.

  • @foxymetroid

    @foxymetroid

There needs to be a Christmas movie where "Santa Claus" is basically just a job title instead of a specific person. It's more believable if all those presents were delivered by "one man" if that "man" was really a large group of elite present deliverymen each delivering presents to a mere portion of families instead of a lone person doing it all himself. It would also explain how he could have different names (Saint Nicholas, Kris Kringle, etc.). It could also explain mall santas as well as how "one man" could have lived for apparently centuries.

The dog's name is Doofus, in 2022 that's funny because that was 20 and some change years ago. No the movie is not that good, the writing is strange, and the song plays too many times, it seems like that keep making up and adding lyrics that are not there. The beginning of the movie is set up like a Windows Movie maker school Cinematography project and PNG logo intro. Very 90's and 2000's-esque.

This is a fun admission, but I had the producer of the actual song perform at my job with the band he’s in. I was one of the two main audio technicians who worked with them, the other was my buddy, who was showing me the ropes. They were great guys, fantastic to work with! They even played one of their songs I had told them I really enjoyed on their last performance with us. EDIT: If anyone was curious, the band is California Cowboys and the song that they played for me was “Timberline,” it was such a sweet gesture and I still have the stuff they gave me for working with them!

Also Doofus being the dog’s name is funny, but I always crack up at the way they overenunciate Spankenheimer.

I HATE this movie with a passion. One year in 2003 Cartoon Networked played Bill Plympton's "12 Tiny Christmas Tales". That 22 minute animation got me into animation. I wanted to see it the next year (thinking it was going to be an annul thing like everything else) and I waited to 6:00 to 7:00pm, which was the time it aired the previous year. What I was met with was THIS movie. They didn't show 12 Tiny Christmas Tales that year. So I waited next year, the same, THIS movie. Again the next year, THIS movie. I don't believe they ever played 12 Tiny Christmas Tales again, but every Christmas from when I was a kid, it was ALWAYS THIS movie. I did eventually find 12 Tiny Christmas Tales but it was frustrating when I was a kid and KZread didn't exist yet or most movie sites especially for niche stuff like Bill Plympton's Animations.

I was born in 1999, and even back when I used to watch the special, I thought Cousin Mel and I.M.Slime were really good friends, instead of just a attorney-client relationship (especially with their musical number). Mel has more chemistry with her than the proto-Elon guy. Now whenever I look back at this movie, I think the possibility of Slime being gay for Mel is pretty likely. Considering Grandpa and Proto Elon have a thing for her, I wouldn't be surprised.

Subscribed because of this video, interesting thing I noticed is that I've already watched around 30 of your videos but I don't remember a single one. I guess I fell asleep, so thank you asleep me for helping me find your channel.

I remember this movie airing on Cartoon Network every now & then and the movie grew on me. It gives nostalgia and I haven't seen it in a while.

This was one of the few movies we had at my grandma's (it was VHS) and my brother and I watched this repeatedly & year-round because we had to wait till grandma finished her soap operas before watching cartoons. Mind you, we were there probably 5 days a week so we saw this very often but watching this vid was still "wait that really happened in the movie didn't it?"

Easy the narrator is living In night city I’m the year 2077. Although the corporations have wedding the holidays down to a capitalistic hell scape, he still looks back on it fondly… stupid joke I know

This movie really takes me back, the last time I had cable around Christmas was like 2013. I never thought the movie was good but enjoyed how outlandish the concept was. I was a snob even as a kid.

If we have to have a special based on a Christmas song air every Christmas I’d rather have “the night Santa went crazy” by Weird Al.
