It's meant to be beeped. Its the first 3 hours of adult swim . It kinda makes it better and nostalgic. The last 3 hours of repeats is unbleeped

"Once joined a rap clique Midgets into crunk" was a subliminal diss to the crew DOOM was in call "Monster Island Czars" (M.I.C...monster Island czars/midgets into crunk) "Coulda sold a million then the villain went for dolo" Dolo is slang for solo, as in he went solo.

If you havent already you HAVE to listen Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain. Its an incredible album with DOOMS alter ego Viktor. He represents a way younger DOOM who is more energetic and in your face. That album is so lyrically dense and aggressive its great. The first track is basically a metal track damn near. Trust me its right up your alley

I agree, Viktor Vaughan is my favorite. Lyrically it has so much depth. Production is top notch.

To elaborate most versions are edited because he wanted to duplicate Aqua Teen Hunger Force - cursing but all bleeped. This was a choice he made early in production and because he loved television to the point that demands bleeps.

another album of DOOM you could hear is BORN LIKE THIS, maybe its his edgiest album but ages like wine (hated it first loved it then) and has some of the more crazy rhymes i have ever listened to, definitely recommended!

I thought the bleeps were intentional. The CD I bought in 2007 was bleeped too. I don't mind it as it matches the actual broadcast. Also fun fact is that Doom voiced the Giraffe on Perfect Hair Forever and also hosted a Xmas event on Adult Swim as well.

Crosshairs is my favorite song from DOOM. Period. The sample is phenomenal and I feel like his writing was on another level. This song is one of my most studied from how work

MIC migits into Crunk, is a diss to his former group Monster Island Csars. MF DOOM was King Ghidorah, and was a Godzilla styled Wu tang Clan. He handled mostly production They got two albums. The King Ghidorah Take me to your leader 2003 And Monster Island Czars 2001 Guys like Rodan, MF Grimm, and Jet Jaguar are dope in thier own right. If you like Godzilla, and rap, you got to check these out.

This part of your life seems to be your actual passion so maybe work toward getting a point where you can maybe supplements and income doing this and then head back a few hours at the restaurant. Love your reactions of DOOM's music!! New subscriber here. Basket Case was the first song I ever heard from DOOM and I liked it immediately when I heard the xylophone or whatever that is. Funny thing but I never thought to look up the rest of his music until wayyyy later but I've been a huge fan ever since. Personally I vote for Operation Doomsday next but all of his albums are pretty awesome!

Not my favorite either, but this was my introduction. I feel like its more digestable for new listeners than other albums. Mm... Food and Madvillainy are my favs, but Take Me To Your Leader as King Gheedora and Vaudeville Villian are so dope too based on their story telling/creativity and Noir production respectively

Doom says “He often wondered, should he get the logo tattooed to his woody, he could be NUMBER ONE IN THE HOOD, G!!” He means the hood of the clitoris.. so if he got the ATHF logo tattooed on his dick.. yup 😂😂

I love the Apollo Brown version of that album imo its better then the Adrian Younge version the beats fit him better I think more boom bap style

I was also frustrated with the censorship at first but i found out it was on purpose (just like primetime tv)

It's funny you couldn't pronounce Talib Kweli. One of his most popular songs revolves around that. Check out The Blast, and his Black Star collaboration with Mos Def is a MUST

The Cee Lo hook is a bit of a phone-in. Doom never disappoints though.

One of the things I love about DOOM is his willingness to be the butt of a joke or just be a corny goofball. A lot of rappers want to be all hardcore and sell you the idea that they’re hard and tough but that shit is boring. What stands out to me is being unique.

Frodo If you ever decide to listen to this song, listen to it without the drums. There's a version with drums & one without, which is better. And if you listen to Victory Laps, listen to the Madlib remix of that song as well

Great review my friend, good to have you back.. this is one of those moments that was extra dope when you realized your favorite artists on this platform (adult swim) loved the same shit as this platform (hip hop).. was like a dream come true. The guy who runs Adult Swim is a HUGE hip hop fan and was also directly responsible for introducing El-P of Company Flow (my fav hip hop group ever) to Killer Mike (who ran with Outkast) and they became Run the Jewels, who you’ll probably dive into soon. 😉🫵🏼 👉🏼🤛🏼
